Another banger as usual, Derek! Thanks for all the great content over the years. I took a trip to the Peloponnese last week, and relistened to many of your old episodes relevant to the region, and it reinforced my understanding and the need to see historical sights to understand the events surrounding them. It's one thing for you to talk about the Macedonians demanding the Acrocorinth from the Achaean League, and how reluctant they were to give it up, but it was quite another when I got there and actually saw it. The Acrocorinth was massive! Plus, you can see all the way across the strip of land splitting the Saronic Gulf and the Gulf of Corinth from the top. Your narrative has been deeply engrossing and fun to listen to, and it's made the Hellenistic Age my favorite period of classical history to study. Thanks always for the great work bro, can't wait to hear all the great stuff coming. Pydna, the Maccabee Revolt, rise of Parthia and subsequent collapse of Seleucia, and everything else.
And to imagine that there are some 150 years left until Cleopatra's death. I can't thank you enough for making these detailed podcasts for a topic undeservedly less popular.
I'm becoming more and more convinced that the Romans have more in common with the Mongols than they do with Greeka, in terms of how they influenced history.
Another stellar episode 🫡
Fantastic content! Well done! Bravo!

It's crazy how bad they treated Scipio Africanus especially seeing how he did what no other Roman General could do defeat Hannibal
