I agree re the startup steering setting - Not sure if this has already been said, but try programming the steering & throttle & gear change settings you want into one of the M buttons, and then just press it each time you start the car. At least you only have to press the button once.
I picked up a lovely black M2 comp yesterday. Bloody love it. 1. Get electric adjustable seats with 2 memory mode 2. The seat belt is fine if average height. My missus struggles 3. You can programme start up mode 4. The scroll on the right on the steering wheel allows you to change song 5. Get apple car play Apart from that, the car’s shit.
The issue wit the trunk is easy to fix. Just have to move the spring that is there to give more tension and it opens better. I hope it works for you. It did work for me.

1.) I think that if you press hard enough the boot will go up by itself (that’s how it works on M4 F82) 2.) Totally agree on the seatbelt! Very far away to reach (same on M4 F82, on my M3 E92 there is a sort of seatbelt butler that hands you the seatbelt) 3.) Every time I start up the car I have to remember to put the steering wheel in “Confort” mode otherwise it is so difficult to park and maneuver the car! Very annoying .. 4.) if you want to skip song on the steering wheel just use the black roller near the + mode - settings! Hey Kenji, I have a 2016 M2. You can skip songs using the scroll button on the steering wheel. Also my M2 always defaults back to comfort mode. Not sure if this is a setting or something the dealer can code for you. Beautiful machine... enjoy 👍
It is annoying that the trunk hood does not open up by itself. But I think you can adjust the spring tension. Just open the inner cover in the trunk. I did it for my F30. I’m sorry if M2 doesn’t have springs. Plz, tell me if you could. I am planning to buy a M2.
I tried adjusting it, then the trunk wouldn’t close properly. Then I took it into BMW. They aligned correctly again. But it won’t pop up by itself. I have no idea. But it’s really a minor issue.
Strange how the dual climate zone is no longer available on the newer cars except the 5 series and up. My 2010 M3 has an All button to sync both sides.
I feel you on that trunk thing, my m2 comp is only a week old and everytime i open it from the key, i’d still have to add force on manually pulling it to open up😂
@Kenji Lo You can configure the drive mode stuff to be however you want when you start your car. You can also disable engine noise in speakers, and some other things. Some can be done by some aftermarket software, others by BMW or the center console menus. Bimmerpost has everything you need to know.
Kenji you mentioned about the car not moving in gear from a standstill. Wether in Drive or Reverse simply make a small tap on the accelerator and the car will roll at a slow speed 👍🏽
On the right hand rotary dial if you move that while playing a song you will see the selection appear on you instrument cluster, you can choose your next and previous song that way, same way you change radio stations from your steering wheel
The skip button on the steering is actually a valid point. It’s a racing car but for everyday roads, and you would expect it to have that button especially since it has all the other “non racing” controls on the steering like call end, volume etc
1. the rotary wheel on the right side of the steering wheel skips track. lol. 2. I shouldn't be sharing this but I like that the trunk doesn't open automatically because I've had to leave mine unlocked for someone before. whoop
Hey! You absolutely can skip the song on the steering wheel. The toggle wheel on the right side of the steering wheel next to the volume buttons, you scroll it down and on the instrument cluster screen there is the option to go next or previous song, so you click on the wheel and it changes the song!
I have a G with hydraulic steering. I'm stuck in "sport" mode indefinitely and I live in Brooklyn where I have to make 30 adjustments to get out from bumper to bumper parallel parking.
Funny you complained about it starting in sport mode. Regular m2 starts in comfort and EVERYONE complained, so I guess that's why they changed it to start in sport for the m2c haha
Really!! Had no idea! But I’m gonna take everyone’s advice and take it to the dealer to do a change with the OBD. I just prefer comfort mode. More feeling with the steering. Personal preference. Cheers mate
Haha yeah, a lot of people complained about this. Tbh I wish they would just let you configure it in the UI somewhere so every driver can choose what they like
I have an M240 and couldn't agree more re manual seat adjustment. It's been the BMW way for years and it's the worst in the industry to try and get finite adjustment with. It's funny that the M2C doesn't default to comfort mode after you switch off. As just about every other BMW I've owned does, and owners have moaned for years and tried to have it coded in to stay in sport.
Good luck with channel Benji, these are really price point issues. The main point you raised to me is seat belt, agree should be adjustable on pillar, scratching neck really annoying.✔️
You can skip songs on the scroller on the right side of the steering wheel by pressing it in it will show a song list on your instruments cluster to pick the next song
If you're playing in your library... if you're using say apple music... BMW don't know what the next song is... so can't skip to next song through the scroll on the steering wheel.
What he said are NOT luxury items they are elementary basic necessary items like adjustable seat belt which a Nissan Leaf has got it. BMW cars are great cars I love them. I have a 650i gran coupe myself but BMW needs to give attention to details to beat the competitions.
Thomas Johson no they couldn’t. Should have not been a cheap skate and bought a M3 instead. If you don’t know what you’re buying before you spend your money you’re an idiot.
CoolHandJoe88 I own an M2 myself along with 2 other BMWs. An X3 and a 335. Performance car is about weight saving. If this is what you’re looking then Nissan it is. lol
I love my M2, I can drive easily to the track 300km, do a track day and go back home at night, with heated seats and steering wheel, listening to the music on HK sound system, and turned on automatic adaptive headlights and cruise control. And next morning, I can drive the same car on my way to work. On top of that, the car is a very good looking coupe. You can't get something better for this kind of money.
I was going to comment but I see most of the issues have been dealt with already. Unfortunately the 2 series as a whole in the line up cannot be fitted with an auto tailgate from the factory. Even with the dual zone climate unfortunately 1, 2, 3 and 4 series dont have the availability of sync. Only from 5 series up. The seats are not too bad best to lift up and make small adjustments downwards to get settled. And yes the roller on the right of the steering wheel scrolls through music.... however it's a button aswell. so once you're on the song you want youd need to press the button to select the track. The steering being in sport is an issue. I prefer comfort setting on the road and or track. Sport and sport plus is too numb and weighted. Best solution is to set an M mode to be efficient and comfort.
Not sure why this video got so much hate... I don't see anything wrong with the video and in fact was simple & straight to the point. Good vid Kenji! Fellow M2C owner and 'TH-camr' myself so glad to be part of the gang! 2 years down the line, hope you're well mate!
I have to agree with you. I have the M240 great car but I need to push 6 extra buttons every time I start the car. 1. Auto stop off 2. Air recirculating manual. Defaults to auto 3. Wipers to be auto on doesn’t remember 4. Sports display with KW and torque usage 5. Put it in sports mode as defaults to comfort 6. The OK I know it’s my responsibility to drive bloody safely message I’m forced to press My only comment is why not get an M3? Why the M2 over M3? Can’t stand 2 door anymore.
For skipping songs, while the music is playing, press the scroll wheel on the steering wheel and on the display screen in the speedometer it will show the next or previous option to switch songs.
The seat and belt adjustability is a bit poor I agree. Every 1 and 2 series should have better adjuatability as standard. I think you can skip song with the scroll. Regarding the steering mode I just don't agree. Electric steering can't ever be too much effort even in parking, surely? Or perhaps just leave it in normal mode. Sport mode usually means heavier but not more feel. Never driven an M2 though so maybe it is. I'm am sure there is a sync function so where otherwise that would also be an amazing oversight.
US models have a hands-free liftgate - just wave your foot under the bumper. I do agree about the climate control - you don't get Sync until the 5 series. Sad for a $60,000 car when you can have that feature in a $20,000 Hyundai.
Hi mate, the steering keep going to sport is because of the way you have it set up. If you put comfort steering and economic driving, hold the m1 button on your steering wheel and this will keep your settings
Lol, I own a 2018 m2 lci, there is a scroll button on the left of “Mode”, you can use it in order to switch songs. Talking about the boot, m2 is a performance car, a car which is made for driving enthusiasts, it’s not an Audi which can’t steer at all compared to any bmw, manually opening the boot is not that big of a deal.
Lol you haven't driven an Rs yet I assume I driven both. Bmw has nothing compared to the R 8. I owned both brands there good in there own way I had 335 now the s4 I think s4 handles way better so you dont know what your talking about.
@@Nox4ey Compare their best performance models? //M vs RS, most reviews will say the //M is the drivers enthusiast car in that specific category while the RS is better suited for daily life.
@@Nox4ey having owned and rs3 and currently driving a m235i I can say bmw is far better in every way from spec to performance, yes the rs3 was faster not by a mile but don't forget I don't have the m2 which is in the same league as the rs3. The bmw connects you to the road unlike the Audi which imo felt quite stiff with little feedback to know how much more I can give it before the car would become uncontrollable. (Wet conditions Audi wins obvs..) Don't get me wrong I loved my rs3 as I do all fast audis but bmw has performance cars wrapped up right now. (Speed and figures doesn't make a car better to own). Also bmw doesn't have anything on the market to compete with the Audi r8 granted but that doesn't mean Audi win by default. That's like saying Ferrari are better that land rover because they don't have a sports car. Oh and as for the boot opener on this vid. MATE PLEASE YOU ARE NIT PICKING.
@@mattnunnington9007 you seriously think that 235 I is better than than rs3 lol I will just end it there. You can compare the s3 to it. I have owned both audi n bmw so I to know what the deal is. I think audi are just built with high quality less broken down.
Nice car Benji n great video, would really like the LCD gauges for my poor man’s 220i M n surprisingly nothing else, especially not the manual seats coz I feel my electric seats make it easier for the seat belt to sit with
1) The boot thing is very very minor borderline irrelevant... if you have the hand the press the button... a little push upwards is not a big stretch!! 2) seat belt is definitely a problem 3) Should've got the electric adjustable seats with memory. So it's not a "real" problem. 4) Coding can solve all problems, can adjust many minor flaws (eg. start up warning on screen, get rid of ding ding noise etc.) and get have memory on for last settings (comfort, sport or sport+) 5) unable to skip songs on steering wheel is annoying (you can scroll to the next song... but some apps like apple music you can only skip and not scroll), they changed the interface on the screen in media so you can't skip song by just pressing the idrive wheel either. 6) Climate control not really annoying unless you're someone who's constantly changing temp... I probably change temp once every few months (change of weather)... I'd usually have it on 19-20 all year round.
The thing with the seat belt you could always put your seat higher. It's better than being taller with long legs and short arms and not being able to reach the steering properly. I couldn't find a way to sync the heating controls either. Have you tried the programmable buttons? I didn't even know what they were for and found they were really handy.. There maybe a way to do it through them. I've seen some people mod the tailgate on other cars to open automatically.
Victor, is that the case for the controls to change the height of the seats? I put my order in for an M2C in the UK recently and sat in one in the showroom. That had electric seats, but I cannot remember if they extended to raising and lowering the height of the seats.
I have an m2 lci and it has electric seats. In the US electric seats comes as standard with the executive pacakge and as far as I have seen on competiton seats they don't come with electric buttons. Maybe you europe people get better options than US
For your first problem; you are right to complain but there is a positive side of that decision. BMW uses dampers for tailgates unlike Audi's. That is because when you close the trunk, Audi's systems steal from cargo space with those curved shaped metal thingies, but BMW's system does not. Hope i could explain that.
I have the M235i and all these things are exactly the same . Yeah the seat belt thing I totally agree, my Golf R had adjustable heights on the belt position, its stupid it doesn't such a cheap fix, nearly all cars do. The boot thing also agree with , it should open completely as soon as you click open on the boot with the fob key. I have seen the optional extra you stick you foot under the boot and it opens automatically that should be standard on and cars this expensive. The seat position adjust identical issue , that most definitely should be a pump system not lifting your body weight for the seat , its just cheap and nasty. I didnt go electric no one else drives my car so it doesnt matter, it a lighter than electric, and it goes lower than electric The skipping song thing , move your i drive arrow left , scroll to the bottom and you can skip songs back and forth The aircon yup no sync button stupid idea , first thing i said to the dealer when i traded the Golf On mine it always starts up in Comfort mode, it should have system to lock in what mode you what to leave it in that mode. Its the same with the start /start idiotic button that should be able to turn to off. It also doesnt have the dipping wing mirror option its removed on my and once again ive asked the dealer the wiring inst there to program it People dont tell me the Service people can do it, NOT in Australia its illegal they refuse to change it
@@KenjiLo1 hahah just picked up car on Thursday and checked again and turns out I don't have a sync ... Dammit now it's gonna bother me like it does you!🤣
skip songs: try to press the right rubber-scrolling-wheel on your steering wheel, in my 240i lci, a small menu appears between the dials and you can scroll up and down to select the tracks
Lekka accent, fellow Capetonian . Enjoy the ride. I own a 4 series and the seatbelt is also an issue for my wife who is shorter than me, I have no problem but then I’m 1.85 tall. The sport and comfort can be coded so the default can be comfort. Take it to your dealer or contact me and I’ll guide you. The boot lid is an adjustment, the knob, you’ve prob figured out by now. I think those buttons on either side of the radio is for seat heating-not sure if you have that option.
I’m just glad more Capetonians are using this platform to share their experiences. Hopefully some of the issues you raised will be addressed in the newer versions
Not currently, I’m in Johannesburg. If you are prepared to tackle the coding or get more involved with the bmw community. Look at bmw fanatics. There’s bmw forums and guys I know that could help you get more acquainted with the brand.
All it needs for the trunck i a littel flick with yoir finger and it opens. Its a BMW you sit low, i agree on the seatbelt tho. You can change the start mode. You can change songs or radio station with the right scroll on your steeringwheel, and also its so easy to navigate to Media to chanhe the song with your middel Controll thing. There is a sync button. I dont really think its your car.
You have a budget version so you don’t have a electric seat. In Australia you can choose a electric seat with heating and memory. Also all you complained are trivial to me. My biggest gripe is it doesn’t have a P on the dct.
nice and such an improvement over the old M2. Amaxed you didnt op elec seats on my old m235 three years ago i had electric seats the manual adjust is bad.
GPF is the gasoline particulate filter, new emissions regulations impose the installation also on petrol cars (Every vehicle Euro 6c, 6d-Temp and 6d compliant). Also the new M5 Competition has it. I find it a crime to install it on sports cars, but this is another matter... btw a sport cat downpipe solve the problem, but an ecu remap is needed ;)
Kenji's Garage Congrats on the car man. I just ordered one and will also be coming from an Audi. (S3) How does the stereo compare to Audi’s B&O? Meaning sound quality. That’s one of my few concerns. Thanks for the vid and enjoy the sweet ride
Hey bud nice flipping nice car well done on getting her. The skip function should be one of the round black knobs on the steering wheel, the seat belt height adjustment and the boot, sorry bud never had one in any entry level series, my E82 also dose not have one. The sync feature is a optional extra usually. The comfort steering feature, you can try get the dealerships to set it as a default setting, through the OBD. Hope that helps you bud enjoy the car.
The first two issues you're having are because this is more of a diver's oriented car. They don't include those things because of weight savings. I'm sure in higher model cars you won't have those issues.
Good video, great that there are minor things that seem to be wrong (not in the Alfa league!). The seat belt would annoy, but BMW belt carriers at least on the older M3 coupes were known to fail, maybe they decided to skip. One thing I wonder about is the seating in the M2C, in the original M2 Jason Cammisa (formerly of Motortrend) was not impressed with the offset seat angle, wondering if this has been fixed in the M2C?
Great vid, but I still think this car would be perfect no matter what. Its a true drivers car. Yes it may not have electric seats or skip buttons on the wheel but thats the point. Its meant to be driven hard, and enjoyed like the analog car it is (or kind of is, it needs normal steering instead of electric.)
Haha, you said it "being picky on those small things". You bought a sport car with pure engine and chassis. Consider yourself lucky owning such a TRUE M car that BMW eventually roll it out since E36...
Out of all that, I find the adjustment on the seat annoying, but worse of all, why is the driver section on the wrong side of the car. That would be irritating.
The boot spring might need adjustment, it should spring open. The manual seat is bullshit. On an M car it's should come std with electric seats. The rest are features you need to learn. Congrats on an epic ride.
1. its a sportcar not a luxury car, why do sportcars should have this useless things? i mean its a sportcar!! save as much weight u can. then maybe u should buy a 550i instead if u want "luxury". 2. i know what u mean 3. then u should have bought ur car with the Memory funktion seats they are electric and have a memory funktion, so its not a problem! 4. go to BMW they can change this in 3 min. 5. u can chance it with the steering wheel the left scroller. 6. i don`t get the problem?
You can select next song or skip one song on the small "wheel" on the righthand side of the steering wheel! Even you get a info about the song between the 2 main instruments! Nice car!!!!
Lets face it, the new M2C is soo friggen perfect of a drivers "M" car you have to really knit pick to find anything wrong. In todays performance car world, the M2C is a Rock Star. A Lot of your issues many dont have with upgraded power seats, etc...
I don’t sub to many CarTubers, but I really liked this video, no click bait, no long drawn out nonsense, easy to listen to. You’ve earned a sub, look forward to watching more of your content.

As just about every other BMW I've owned does, and owners have moaned for years and tried to have it coded in to stay in sport.
Finally!! So I’m not the only one.. thanks bud
Good luck with channel Benji, these are really price point issues.
The main point you raised to me is seat belt, agree should be adjustable on pillar, scratching neck really annoying.✔️
It’s manageable though..
You can skip songs on the scroller on the right side of the steering wheel by pressing it in it will show a song list on your instruments cluster to pick the next song
Thanks bro
If you're playing in your library... if you're using say apple music... BMW don't know what the next song is... so can't skip to next song through the scroll on the steering wheel.
Dude, this is a performance
Car. Not a full blown luxury car.
But yet a Golf has adjustable seatbelts, sync in the aircon system. Performance car or not, these are little things that BMW could've given us.
What he said are NOT luxury items they are elementary basic necessary items like adjustable seat belt which a Nissan Leaf has got it. BMW cars are great cars I love them. I have a 650i gran coupe myself but BMW needs to give attention to details to beat the competitions.
Thomas Johson guess what that adds weight and in a performance car, you don’t need that. If you’re looking for luxury but fast get a different car
Yeah.. thanks bro!
But my Audi didn’t have a auto tailgate, but it was light enough to just pop all the way up. Annoying the BMW doesn’t do the same!
Not sure why this video got so much hate... I don't see anything wrong with the video and in fact was simple & straight to the point. Good vid Kenji! Fellow M2C owner and 'TH-camr' myself so glad to be part of the gang!
2 years down the line, hope you're well mate!
Thanks for the kind words! Will check your channel out!
I have to agree with you. I have the M240 great car but I need to push 6 extra buttons every time I start the car.
1. Auto stop off
2. Air recirculating manual. Defaults to auto
3. Wipers to be auto on doesn’t remember
4. Sports display with KW and torque usage
5. Put it in sports mode as defaults to comfort
6. The OK I know it’s my responsibility to drive bloody safely message I’m forced to press
My only comment is why not get an M3? Why the M2 over M3?
Can’t stand 2 door anymore.
On my car (US model M235), Sports Mode seems to deactivate Auto Stop
Get BimmerCode app you can change a few of those things in about 2 minutes and $20 for the app and obd connector
Lots of reasons to get the m2 instead of the m3(looks, size, cost). Most likely if he wanted an m3 he would have gotten one.
For skipping songs, while the music is playing, press the scroll wheel on the steering wheel and on the display screen in the speedometer it will show the next or previous option to switch songs.
Thanks
There is skip song on steering wheel. It’s the spin dial, it pops up on the cluster :)
for music skip track the scroll wheel on the right hand side you can use to select next or previous track... just scroll up or down...
Agree with all the points... In addition... The dct box sucks and the exhaust note sucks too. I've got an opf car
Thanks for the message! Lol.. a lot of people don’t understand, I’m not ungrateful! I’m just pointing out some annoying facts!
If you press and roll the black button on the right side of your steering wheel you can control your music
Hey buddy, do you think the extra money for the M seats is worth it ?
Hopefully the comfort steering can be fixed with a firmware update. Just needs a bit of memory to keep it in the last state.
Not every wants the same from a car, appreciate your perspective of it
US models have a hands-free liftgate - just wave your foot under the bumper. I do agree about the climate control - you don't get Sync until the 5 series. Sad for a $60,000 car when you can have that feature in a $20,000 Hyundai.
At least you understand me!
I agree with the "next" song selection. Annoying having to scroll to the next track. Didn't know about pressing the button on the dash though. Cheers.
Hi mate, the steering keep going to sport is because of the way you have it set up. If you put comfort steering and economic driving, hold the m1 button on your steering wheel and this will keep your settings
Yeah, I kind of get the idea. Use the M1 setting for my preferred settings. Thank you!
It's so annoying owning a nice car...
Thanks mate.
Nice car Benji n great video, would really like the LCD gauges for my poor man’s 220i M n surprisingly nothing else, especially not the manual seats coz I feel my electric seats make it easier for the seat belt to sit with
Omg yes I have a 230i and the trunk NOT going up is SO irritating. Some of my friends with Mercedes have it and I wish mine did.
Super badass. Hope to own one myself someday.
1) The boot thing is very very minor borderline irrelevant... if you have the hand the press the button... a little push upwards is not a big stretch!!
2) seat belt is definitely a problem
3) Should've got the electric adjustable seats with memory. So it's not a "real" problem.
4) Coding can solve all problems, can adjust many minor flaws (eg. start up warning on screen, get rid of ding ding noise etc.) and get have memory on for last settings (comfort, sport or sport+)
5) unable to skip songs on steering wheel is annoying (you can scroll to the next song... but some apps like apple music you can only skip and not scroll), they changed the interface on the screen in media so you can't skip song by just pressing the idrive wheel either.
6) Climate control not really annoying unless you're someone who's constantly changing temp... I probably change temp once every few months (change of weather)... I'd usually have it on 19-20 all year round.
Beautiful car, and nice straight to the point video. I just got an E92 M3 and love it! I love my V8, but the M2 Comp looks like a blast to drive!
Is it suitable for daily driving? or just treat it as a holiday fun car ?
I would say weekend car for me. I do have a daily, which is a pick up truck. And I treat this one as a weekend car.
Should have gone with the electric seats ;-)
K Alliban there are no eletric seats avaliable for the m2 competition. Only manual adjustment for those seats
Victor, is that the case for the controls to change the height of the seats? I put my order in for an M2C in the UK recently and sat in one in the showroom. That had electric seats, but I cannot remember if they extended to raising and lowering the height of the seats.
Electric seats definitely available on the M2 competition.
I have an m2 lci and it has electric seats. In the US electric seats comes as standard with the executive pacakge and as far as I have seen on competiton seats they don't come with electric buttons. Maybe you europe people get better options than US
I'm in Australia, I had the M2 competition for a weekend test drive, and it definitely had electric seats.
And there is a next button in the steering wheel. The roller to the right and click to select.
Thanks bro. But it’s not a skip button
Loud and clear!! Thanks for the insight!!
The wheel you can control on the steering wheel where your right thumb is will change songs. Simply scroll up and down.
Still not a skip button
Jeez I didn't expect no climate sync that's terrible my 2010 VW Scirocco R has that and it's pretty useful. Still looking to get into an M2 though :p
I didnt go electric no one else drives my car so it doesnt matter, it a lighter than electric, and it goes lower than electric
The skipping song thing , move your i drive arrow left , scroll to the bottom and you can skip songs back and forth
The aircon yup no sync button stupid idea , first thing i said to the dealer when i traded the Golf
On mine it always starts up in Comfort mode, it should have system to lock in what mode you what to leave it in that mode. Its the same with the start /start idiotic button that should be able to turn to off.
It also doesnt have the dipping wing mirror option its removed on my and once again ive asked the dealer the wiring inst there to program it
People dont tell me the Service people can do it, NOT in Australia its illegal they refuse to change it
Thanks mate! At least you watched it objectively.
Kenji don't apologize for things that you don't like. Thanks for the video.
My 2020 has the climate sync button, what year is yours?
2018
@@KenjiLo1 hahah just picked up car on Thursday and checked again and turns out I don't have a sync ... Dammit now it's gonna bother me like it does you!🤣
Sorry bro! Lol.. my fault.. but you will live without bro!
skip songs: try to press the right rubber-scrolling-wheel on your steering wheel, in my 240i lci, a small menu appears between the dials and you can scroll up and down to select the tracks
im commenting in 2020, but my m2 comp (2020 delivered) came with power seats and multi-adjust buttons
As much as I want this car to be a “race car”, it isn’t, I should have waited a bit and specced the power seats!
They call me SABC. South African Born Chinese
I’m just glad more Capetonians are using this platform to share their experiences. Hopefully some of the issues you raised will be addressed in the newer versions
I hope so too!!! Are you staying in CPT?
I did say it was nit picking.
And there’s a reason why I chose the manual seat. I sat on both, and the manual can go lower.
The P is not even an issue, the car does it automatically.
Kenji's Garage I didn’t know it could go lower.
I am new to M2. Imagine if I want to stay put the gear P so I can rest my foot while the engine is running.
Is it possible?
There’s a auto hold function
nice and such an improvement over the old M2. Amaxed you didnt op elec seats on my old m235 three years ago i had electric seats the manual adjust is bad.
I kinda regretted not opting for the electric seat
Very straight forward video 👍 seems like there are some solutions in the comments as well. Hope that helps you enjoy the car even more!
What colour are your alloys? Are they the standard colour or the black?
Standard colors.
Kenji Lo Thanks. I only ask as I see there is still black on the standard alloys. Keep up the good work 👍🏽
Your Bmw dealer can change the code so it’s starts in comfort.
You can easily adjust the spring to make the trunk open by itself
How easy is it? Can you explain how it can be adjusted?
keen to know too. g noticed all the ones with spoilers wont open but the standard ones will. i assume the spoiler add to the weight
how is the sound of exaust with the new GPF installed?
What’s a GPF?
GPF is the gasoline particulate filter, new emissions regulations impose the installation also on petrol cars (Every vehicle Euro 6c, 6d-Temp and 6d compliant). Also the new M5 Competition has it.
I find it a crime to install it on sports cars, but this is another matter... btw a sport cat downpipe solve the problem, but an ecu remap is needed ;)
Oh yes, the emission law! Yes, downpipe and tune should sort that out.. or a cat fooler
It's a great car, M2 is my favorite M Performance model, I'll keep following ;D
h4xor1701 I remember that it's called OPF.
'i am not tallest guy in The world'... LOL!
Hahahaha.. I’m not exactly the shortest either.. lol.. thanks for commenting bro!
@@KenjiLo1 We cool, congrats on M2. It will grow on you more than Audi.
Man, I love the M2 Competition so much! I don’t even miss the Audi!
Thanks bro
It’s the round knob in the right hand side to change songs
The first two issues you're having are because this is more of a diver's oriented car. They don't include those things because of weight savings. I'm sure in higher model cars you won't have those issues.
Great video..Nice to know the little things before purchasing the car..😊👏🏼
I thought the video was great. It’s honest and gave me insight on a few details I otherwise wouldn’t get watching a regular review. Cheers 👍🏿
Thank you!
You can kick under the back bumper and the trunk opens on its own.
the red start button is super cool. I don't have that in my 2018 m4 comp pack :-(
You can buy the part and put it in, takes 3 mins
I might just do that. thanks
How you finding the new car? Audi or BMW is better?
BMW all day every day!
Good video, great that there are minor things that seem to be wrong (not in the Alfa league!). The seat belt would annoy, but BMW belt carriers at least on the older M3 coupes were known to fail, maybe they decided to skip. One thing I wonder about is the seating in the M2C, in the original M2 Jason Cammisa (formerly of Motortrend) was not impressed with the offset seat angle, wondering if this has been fixed in the M2C?
hello where do you buy the front sticker motorsport please ?
You can buy them from BMW direct. Best to do that, as your colors will match. And figment 100%
Just found this channel😊
m2 Competition 2019 is my dream car
Great vid, but I still think this car would be perfect no matter what. Its a true drivers car. Yes it may not have electric seats or skip buttons on the wheel but thats the point. Its meant to be driven hard, and enjoyed like the analog car it is (or kind of is, it needs normal steering instead of electric.)
Nice video. Never really knew the seatbelt's height can't be adjusted. Interesting area to cut back weight/price
Haha, you said it "being picky on those small things". You bought a sport car with pure engine and chassis. Consider yourself lucky owning such a TRUE M car that BMW eventually roll it out since E36...
Yeah. I was just being picky, cause the car is just too damn near perfect! 👌
Out of all that, I find the adjustment on the seat annoying, but worse of all, why is the driver section on the wrong side of the car. That would be irritating.
It’s actually on the “right” side
put a cusion on the seat may fix the belt rubbing or buy some slade boots
The boot spring might need adjustment, it should spring open. The manual seat is bullshit. On an M car it's should come std with electric seats. The rest are features you need to learn. Congrats on an epic ride.
Thank you!
The little scroll button next to the mode button on the steering wheel skips the songs
There is another button Kenj to change tracks Kenj
The one you referring to only works with Apple car play😁
On my 218i m sport my roll wheel on the right of the wheel skips songs if you flick it down and press it in.
1. its a sportcar not a luxury car, why do sportcars should have this useless things? i mean its a sportcar!! save as much weight u can. then maybe u should buy a 550i instead if u want "luxury".
2. i know what u mean
3. then u should have bought ur car with the Memory funktion seats they are electric and have a memory funktion, so its not a problem!
4. go to BMW they can change this in 3 min.
5. u can chance it with the steering wheel the left scroller.
6. i don`t get the problem?
You can select next song or skip one song on the small "wheel" on the righthand side of the steering wheel! Even you get a info about the song between the 2 main instruments! Nice car!!!!
I see, I have to be in the right mode though. And it doesn’t skip. Goes down the list of songs I have.. so frustrating! Just tried it now
Looking forward to the carbon fiber spoiler!! 😍😍
Me too!! LOL.. I hope i don't break anything!
Lets face it, the new M2C is soo friggen perfect of a drivers "M" car you have to really knit pick to find anything wrong. In todays performance car world, the M2C is a Rock Star. A Lot of your issues many dont have with upgraded power seats, etc...
Thanks for watching 👍
How much are you paying for this car? If you don’t mind sharing?
Are you asking retail price I paid?
Great job Kenji
Thank you
Climate sync is in the car settings.
Dealer confirmed after I posted this video that it’s not in my M2 Comp. only from 5 series up :(
