Great video! I'm in the planning stages of a 250g tank. Keeping in mind that Houston TX water is pretty hand with a medium high ph, what kind of fish would you suggest for that size tank. I've had great success with jungle val, crypts, java ferns (2 varieties), amazon frogbit, flame java moss and 2 types of anubias. I'd like all those same plants. I'm guessing that would disqualify African cichlids. I kept all those plants on my 55g with praecox rainbows, angelfish, a few varieties platys, lemon longfin bristlenose pleco, 2 panda garras, 6 peacock gudgeons and a powder blue dwarf guarami and about 10 nerite snails. Any suggestions on fish stocking with those same plants but in a 250g? I'm curious about having a huge school of rummynose with fairy corys, a few bristlenose plecos and maybe a school of hillstream loaches, but some sort of loaches for sure. I like the true golden zebra loach (not yoyos)
It's a pretty wide list. You could schools of many community fish. I would by try rainbows. They are pricey for that size tank but a big school would be awesome
Very well done. When it ended, you left me hoping for more. Don't like 55s cuz I have huge hands. so I use 40brs we. Only have managed to find 1 in 4 years
Great info and I love your fish. Just not fond of the 55 gal width. I prefer the 40 gal breeder or the 75 gal. for that reason. I understand you loose the length of the 55 gal. It is just a preference for me.
Hey Mike, what filter do you think I should get because I’m a beginner and do not want to spend much on the filter for my 55 gallon. I have only 7 comet goldfish.
.Welcome to the hobby. I would say get a hang on back. Easy to clean and take care of. Goldfish might be quite messy eaters so I would do more than just a sponge filter. The comet goldfish will quite large and will want to consider upgrading at that point.
Great 55 ideas Mike! Your camera work has come a long way. Beautiful work!!! Just one small thing, can you put a piece of black tape over the red light?
Bettas not in solitary confinement! 💐 thanks for that suggestion. It’s a very rare suggestion.
Your welcome Tardi
Beautiful tanks and fish!!
Thanks Sharron! Glad that you like the tanks and fish!
Love me some rainbows
Thanks Bob! The rainbows are starting to become one of my favorites.
Apistos are the next fish I really want to try. Nice ideas 💡
Thanks fish and floral. I really like apistos as well.
Another great video as usual Mike....
Thanks Don! Glad that you enjoyed it.

Thanks Alex. I really like 40 breeders as well. They have a great footprint.

I agree, I like 40 breeders and 75 better as well but a lot of people gett 55s though.
