One of my favorites of the Wagyan series, I'd say it's way up there in terms of the games, right under the DS game imo. You pretty much hit the nail on the head as to why.
So long Wagyan Land on the Famicom! A really great series, I think. Is Wagyan Land 3 the best one? Yeah, maybe. I like it. The first one is great in its simplicity, but the new additions here for the last 8-bit game are too good. This is a surprisingly big cart for Namco, having a 4 megabit rom on board, though it's still inside of Namco's cheap epoxy blot pcb cards... this really helped them sell their games for so much less than the competition, something that is a relief when Mega Man 5 was so damn expensive.
I have all of them. I guess as a collector that doesn't answer your question, though. 😃 I've definitely played one of them a bit and it was good. Downplayed the word games even further, though.
Unlike the other 2 FC games in the series, this one doesn't have an English fanlation. Which kinda makes it unplayable due to the boss word game. Unfortunate.
None of the Wagyans utilized the famicom's built-in microphone despite its genesis as a shouting gimmick. Perhaps a mercy upon parents?
crazy how 1992 is almost already over
Dang, that reverse gravity mechanic was pretty popular among Japanese platform game developers around that time.

I still haven't played the DS game. It's on my suruga-ya wishlist, but there's always something else I wind up prioritizing.
This could have been a good exit for Namco, if it wasn't for the fact that they had two Famista releases left to go :(

Have you ever played any of the super wagyan land games?
I have all of them.

So this is Wagyan Land 3: Wagyan Solves the Immigration Crisis ?
Sorry just the plot sounded weirdly silly to me :P

I'm honestly have no idea how a fan translator could implement that word game in a reasonable way.
