As an aviation nerd and aircraft restorer, I am extremely proud of Travis for his mention of the SR-71 intake design.

    Cruth: *Kills Vex*
Also Cruth: *Suddenly hears boss music as Percy and Grog take that personally*

I would quite literally kill for them to have their happy ending, at last, but it's also so awful for Kiki, just having her hopes raised and dashed over and over and over.

Obviously this is entirely down to the decisions of the players, but personally I would love to see certain fanfic ideas served which I have seen online, specifically that Vax and Kiki get to spend 1 last night together, but they make the absolute best they can of it and in due time- about 8 months or so- Keyleth makes another visit to Whitestone looking somewhat rounder around the midsection...

i don't understand why liam chose to continue to serve the raven queen. i would've thought he'd done enough.

@oldfrend I think it's worth bearing in my mind that Vax has been in her pocket for 30 years at this point. He has a different perspective on life/death and the way She works in general. He can still feel the same level of longing and heartache Keylith does, but that's tempered by his experiences on the other side of the fence. He can still see the "good" aspects in the Matron's function and how it would be worse for everyone if that were to cease.
Kiki on the other hand has none of that, just endless unrequited heartache and not being allowed to grieve because she knows that Vax is still out there, in actual fact, not just the wishy washy "watching over you" people often say about departed loved ones. Worse again, she's now been given proof that when our boy says "Forever and always" He means precisely that.

@@Hezzoran395 I actually agree, I think it is important to recognise that not everybody gets the perfect happy ending they want. But I also like to think that when the time comes for the Matron to receive the individual members of Vox Machina in their due time, she allows a friendly face to escort them on to the Everafter where they get to meet up with old friends around a table and share tales of their exploits over unlimited drinks until the end of time.

I loved this entire episode. The Keyleth Vax moment at the end broke me though. :(

Keyleth’s gonna have a heart of solid stone if the Matron doesn’t stop dangling this carrot in front of her. Vax has already defied her a number of times and now all the gods face extinction. When’s the Matron gonna realize hanging onto this champion is more trouble than it’s worth?

The C3 finale. There's been a general feeling that CRs about to wipe the slate clean for C4, so it would make sense for one final battle.

It's really cool narratively. The matron has a champion to represent her in the world, but he's also in a position to have her die, and him being her champion has put him in a position where he gains something he wants if she's not around. So the Matron either has to let him go and lose her champion, or keep him and risk him turning on her.

I don't know if Liam would do this, but I could absolutely see, if Fearne is the one to become the Avatar of Predathos, upon learning of Keyleth's broken heart, Orym, knowing a very similar pain, turns to Fearne and is like, "Do me a favor. Take out the Matron first."
Though, I much prefer the possibility that someone else voiced that if Vax must remain as the Matron's Champion, Lieve'Tel offers to take his place. After all, Lieve'Tel's love is dead. She has nobody tethering her to the mortal realm. Vax still does and will still for eons to come. Also, Lieve'Tel serves the Matron willingly whereas Vax, while he does now serve the Matron willingly to a degree, realistically he serves the Matron out of obligation.

I hope everyone notices Matt's masterful evasion with the "It's feast time" insted of "it's feasting time" right? He dodged a Sam Reigel bullet right there

I was sure we were gonna get another ep of Vox Machina and try and make each mission a month by month thing but dammit Vox Machina get shit done!
Sam's time capsule is apt - especially given the Avengers Endgame connections - but may've also unleashed a new plague why did you eat the sub Samuel! You've doomed us all!
Oh god it's an even BIGGER ROACHY BOY! This is like the third White Fang of the campaign XD And a Wormy, Shai Halud that's a big'un! Matt's clearly been ready to unleash Ozo onto the world - that's how you do it btw Zathuda. Vex now has the record for most deaths in Critical Role ever, which is very impressive since her brother's the Death Goddess' psychopomp and Delilah keeps on coming back, but it's also ironic given how Percy was the one most sure that their kids will be fine if they fell, I don't think he quite considered that she would fall first. Shame he couldn't finish off Ozo in that No Mercy run, but the Grog HDYWTDT was fun.
From Ironic to Poetic though, it's that time to slam the table because Sam *ALWAYS* looks out for Liam, so of course Scanlan - with the Matron assisting - is the one that frees the beacon (Matt you may have to open the door on What If scenarios given you've shown alternate life paths for Ashton and Scanlan now), and of course Keyleth is the one to protect the vorb; the last act Vax did before becoming an orb was protect her and now the last act as an orb is her protecting him.
But success! The boy is free! Well, no longer an orb at least. 600+ days must give him a such crick in the neck XD But it's the floor for Liam to do his heartbreak prince thing, and the victory is bittersweet, honestly I don't think the Matron going away would do anything; if she leaves it's a vacuum something or someone else will take over, and if she dies then Vax will likely go back to being disintegrated. Oh Vaxleth, truly the tragedy, the wound that keeps reopening, I'd question anyone who doesn't feel awful for Keyleth in this; she won't let herself have joy today because she knows it's pain tomorrow, but what is there to do? I think Sam's suggestion of modify memory is a bit too cruel, but Keyleth is in a situation where the burden she signed up for as the Voice of the Tempest is compounded with the heartbreak and pining for Vax. It's a delicate matter, but if she can't move on maybe the solution isn't to try to make him stay but to go with him? Make a similar deal, at least then they can be together. If that's a viable route for her - and done tastefully since as I said it's a delicate area, a new era could easily mean a new Tempest.
Lv. 20 combat though, it truly is something else, and we get another run at it for the next group since it'll be the Nein's turn next. Still, it was a difficult battle even with 9 PCs on the board, Lieve'tel and Pike used up their Divine Interventions for clutch moments in this battle, the Nein have two with Jester and Caduceus too but the Hells will go against Ludinus (and maybe Predathos) with 0 -maybe one depending on how the Matron's mask is used - and no pure clerics...might have to top up that prayer circle...
The first battle was won, but things are certain to escalate, the Weave Mind are next.

The Matron keeps going like this Keyleth might get her villain arc. Stuff like this is how you get characters like Gorr the God Killer.
