Good video! I believe CP 293 actually ran through Shoreham just the other day. Pretty cool to TBT once in a while.

Amazing video! It’s a shame that power isn’t anywhere near as colorful today as it was back then.

@@douglasskaalrud6865 It's a bit more monotonous today, wouldn't you agree?

So much truth to that; the class ones back then had so much more variety. Thank you for watching!

@@SD457500 It is a shame, but it's always been happening. In the 1970's it seemed everything had SD40-2's, by the early 2000's it was SD70M's and Dash 9's galore. Someday the Dash 9's, and even the GEVO's are going to be rare and hard to find. People complain about having no variety today but people were doing it back then, and in 20 years or so we're all going to be complaining about GEVO's being retired.

@@minnesotarailfan12 By then you'll have people whose favorite locomotive is the vintage GEVO and they regularly extol its virtues, which will seem weird to those of us who got bored of seeing them on everything.
...kind of like me with the SD40-2 lol

@@Finetales Yeah, I love seeing old SD70MACS and Dash 8's...then I look at Conrail in the 1990s and nearly all their road power was either C40-8s or C40-8W's, and SD70MAC, SD60M/I, and SD60's.

Great video to watch, but I'm afraid all those numbers and classes are beyond me. Greetings from Birmingham UK 🙂🙂

@ 1:12... the UP 1042, my eye says GP40 (former SP) perhaps... i also thought it may have been one of the old CNW GP40s but i don't think the UP kept any of those

Question: "How do you know what cars do pick up for your load?"

when you go on duty you're assigned a job ID... so when you go to the yard office you type your job ID into the computer and your paperwork (wheel report, work order etc...) pops out... but sometimes the yardmaster will print out all the paperwork for any jobs going on duty and lay them out on a table in the yard office... so all you have to do is rifle through the pile and find yours
