Just to drop a comment about the collaboration with Jellybean Green ASMR. Phenomenal effort! Absolutely gorgeous visuals! You have set the bar for Sci Fi visuals in the ASMR community, I think it is safe to say.
Thanks for stopping by with the kind words! It was a real learning experience, so I'm glad to hear that! That was my exact goal, to try to set a new standard and hopefully bring a more cinematic experience to a roleplay, without letting it distract from the ASMR itself. Hopefully we'll be able to start work on another collaboration this year!
Since you mentioned doing a photoscanned texture pack.. Have you ever ran into the same issues that i have? Making a texture tile seamlessly involves offsetting your image and doing clonestamp work to get rid of the seams, which basically means that when you want to tile a photoscanned texture which has diffuse, normal, depth, etc., there aren't really any tools out there that allow you to do the same work simultaneously on all of these layers in a way that keeps them matched up perfectly.
+brummii That is definitely one of the difficulties when working on these types of textures. If you prefer working in Photoshop, you can record an action while you're creating the first map (for example, the regular diffuse/color/albedo), and then apply that action to the remaining maps. That's about the only way I know of currently, but maybe someone else knows some more tricks!
Hey Joe, I've enjoyed your tutorials, thank you for your work. Just got Photoscan Pro after trying out the HTC Vive VR head set with the program on steam called Destinations. Basically environment are scans & 3d Models, uploaded to share & explore in VR. If you've got a chance, check it out, and perhaps make a topic of the work flow. I hope to one day capture vacations. Also, quite curious as to your perspective of the current state of 4D Videogrammetry. Cheers!
Thank you, Andrew! I hadn't heard of Destinations before, but I'll have to give it a look. Sounds really cool! From what I've seen of the 4D stuff, there are some exciting developments happening. I think currently it's still too experimental/difficult to use in a normal production environment, but I'm sure we'll start seeing it popping up more and more within the next five years.
Hi Classy, great news in this video. Nice to see you again. I won Andrew Price photorealism challenge several years ago. Not using potogrametry of course. Just 3D in a "classical" way. But I'm very interested in photogrametry. I started testing too with an open source soft called VisualSFM. It is not as easy as Photoscan, but it works nicely. One more thing dude...Are you aware that since last video end I can't stop imagine you are half naked doing this recordings? LOL
Ah, nice work on the egg image! I thought it was a photo at first. I remember Gleb made a video about using VisualSFM (you've probably already seen it, though). Scanning is developing quickly now, so hopefully in the future it will be really easy to go out and scan something and get good results without spending hours and hours on it. And I'm glad to hear that, more male nudity in future videos!
Thanks Classy! I made it when I was more into 3D and Blender. Not much time now, I'm afraid. Wow I saw some experiements that Gled did with environments and trainers, but I thought he was using Photoscan. I'll check his chanel again. And yes, more nudity of any kind are always welcome! :D
So how exactly you are going to SEE US in the next video? Also as always funny , entertainting and informative. Please new vids soon and peace out ( also I dont know what that means but its something possitive I guess) Ending was funny also . :))
+ante piskovic Thank you, Ante! I'm very glad you liked it! My new computer lets me hack into webcams and watch my viewers as they watch my videos. It's incredible!
Thanks, Colin! I'll see if I can get Unreal Engine figured out in time to include something from it. Thanks for the suggestion, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
+ClassyDogFilms I hope you can do a camera and image processing series - as in best aperture and shoot settings / lens choices etc - budget multi rig :)
+maayaa77 Do you mean for a specific type of subject (such as scanning humans)? And I actually do have a budget multi-cam rig planned for a future video that I think you'll like!
+ClassyDogFilms yea humans would be cool - but I try to avoid it as in micro movements and stuff - more along the lines of scanning assets or weapons and toys :)
Thank you! I actually have a new PhotoScan video that's going to be over 20 minutes long coming out soon! I hope you'll enjoy it! It should be out before September.
That's a good question! I may be making a special "secret" extra guide focused just on capturing surfaces for textures. If I do, I'll be sure to include all that sort of information in there!
ClassyDogFilms , so far I know only 2 methods: copying and ofseting group of channels then masking for the edge continuity. And clonestamping all channels at once with affinity photo software.
Those are good suggestions, I hope to try the Affinity software soon as well! Hopefully in the future, automatic tiling can be used all the time, because I'm very lazy!
Thanks for the kind words! In addition to Agisoft PhotoScan, you can also use Reality Capture. Reality Capture is able to handle a lot more photos without long processing times.
Thanks for the kind words! You'll be happy to know that I already have some tips for interior scanning planned for the video. I've tested out several different methods. I hope you'll find it quite helpful!
Wow!!! When do you plan to post the video? because I hope that the video can help for my ongoing project. We are asked to design an airport using photogrammetry exterior and interior. That is why I really need your help for this. :)
Sorry for the late reply! I just saw your post. I hope to have that video out in January. If you have access to it, Reality Capture could be a good program to check out. It's great for scanning big buildings because it can handle much larger data sets than PhotoScan. It's also pretty fast at processing.
I really want to get into this but can my 2015 iMac 5K retina 4ghz i7 32gb-RAM handle this? also can you export that mesh into Cinema 4D ? please help thanks in advanced
Yes, you should have no problem using PhotoScan with your computer! When I first started, I had a refurbished Gateway quadcore I bought in 2008 with 3 GB of RAM and, while I had to wait a while for processing and was limited in how high I could set the quality, it still worked okay. So your computer should be fine! And yes, you can export a variety of formats that Cinema 4D should be able to use. I think all the common ones such as OBJ, 3DS, FBX, etc. are possible. If you don''t need the texture you can even export your model as an .STL, I noticed it is much faster to import/export than OBJ is. Hope that helps!
ClassyDogFilms You're a legend thanks so much it's been a big help yes I'm keen to getting into it. I do a some 3-D work and I'm thinking I might get an epic PC & not a Mac from now on. The PC's GPU's & getting crazy good
Thanks, I'm glad I could help! Yes, you can build quite a powerful PC without spending a lot of money. There's a lot of clever and thrifty builders out there, if you have the time to research I'm sure you could make something a lot better than mine for a lot less money!
Yes, I know it is a very high budget for many people. If you ever visit the 3D Scanning forums on FB, Jörg will probably have some helpful computer hardware tips to share. He seems to be a pro at utilizing old parts.
You don't have to buy everything at the same time.... I spent 700$ on a 6700k, cooler, motherboard and ddr4 3200mhz Ram. Overclocked to 4.5 (which was really easy) it outdoes the 5820k at stock speed in some benchmarks while having fewer cores. Only thing I need to upgrade is the GPU, which, like all the other components I did not replace is about 7 years old.
Wow, sounds like a good computer! Unfortunately, I think I deleted the source pictures a while ago to free up some hard drive space. But I will double check to be sure!
Congrats for the build, but I'm sorry to say this: It was overpriced as hell frozen over considering the overall performance and the fact that you built it yourself (which I believe is great and important for everyone to do at least once). I don't understand where the money went.
Yes, I agree with you. I'm sure I could have saved money in some places and still gotten better performance. Chalk it up to being a noob at PC building.
ClassyDogFilms Noo, it's not about the components. It is a really nicely configured pc, but I believe the shops sold them at a much higher price that what is normally accepted. Let's see all the new videos this helps you create :)
My PC would deny access for being abused lol But ye on our 3d discord is this one Photogrammetry dude who also shoots such HQ pics. its insane how much this can consume. Not sure if it is necessary since you can't distinguish the quality in games for the reason of blur fog etc + overpainting the photogrammetry texture.. right? :D Talking about communication! (and to reference the other comment) That facebook group seems dead. We have a 3d modeling discord where we exchange knowledge, so if you wanna talk about stuff discord.gg/Bky5vyF here is link ;D
Oh cool, thank you! I've heard a lot of people talking about Discord recently. Maybe I should start using it! And yes, I agree, the huge textures are a bit overkill for gaming purposes! But some artists love the high res stuff, like VFX and film/archviz creators. My friend Sebastian Zapata has some surface scans that are over 500 million faces!
It's free, no ads, you have a live connection. Certainly better than facebook ;P I'm trying to get into movies as well. Didnt build anything until yet. Wondering what polycount is optimal for a scene. There is this studio called emberlab that used projection mapping to accomplish their movie Dust, u should take a look, very useful breakdowns how they set it up ;)
I just watched the trailer for Dust, it looks very good! I'll be sure to watch the breakdowns! To get into videos, my advice would be to start with small and simple projects. Just have a simple idea and try to do a really good job with it, and don't let it take a long time to make or it can become a bad habit and you might become discouraged. I should follow my own advice! Haha!
Thank God!!! I'm so happy that you now have a new computer and will be making more tutorials/how-to videos of Agisoft PhotoScan!
Great job.... accurate and enjoyable. Well done !
+Joe Saltzman Thank you, Joe! I'm really happy with how it turned out. Now on to the next one!
Relly glad you came back, hope to watch you soon.
Thanks, Alfonso! It's good to see you again, too! I hope to have the next video out before summer is over (it's a big one).
Honestly, I could remember you when I saw a new video popping up in my subscription box, but now I know ! Great video ! :D
+Manu Claessens Oh no, it's been much too long since my last upload! They will be more frequent again. And thank you, I'm thrilled you enjoyed it!
Wow. you came back and became... god? this video is f*cking amazing. the style... the humor. love it. great work man!
+AQuantumCraig That is a wonderful compliment, thank you! I hope to continue it in future videos!
"Does this sound like A.S.M.R.?" made me spit my drink out laughing so hard.
Haha, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome! I like the info plus I really like your humor!!! Very cool!
+Peter Delgado Thank you! I try to keep the videos both informative and entertaining.
LMAO That Picture of Ross Hornby got me XD ...I was not expecting that lol
Glad you got it! I was starting to think nobody knew who it was!
hey man
I'm glad you are back doing videos about photogrammetry
+Carlos De la Rosa Thanks, Carlos. I'm very glad to be back, I hope to push the quality of the scans in the tutorials much higher now!
Hey you're back. You give a lot of good information in so little time, It's pretty cool.
+Fredrow Gaming Thanks, Fred! It's good to see you! Yes, I'm glad to finally have time to make videos again.
+ClassyDogFilms Hello, hope some new videos to learn photogrammetry soon with your new computer.
+darty367 Yes, I plan to use it a lot for the upcoming photogrammetry guides!
Hmmm. I think I have the same PC case, but the black version.
It's a cool looking case! My last computer was a black case, so this time I decided to go with white, haha.
Great video. I like your sense of humour!
Thanks, David! I try to make the videos entertaining as well as helpful, so I'm glad to hear you liked it!
Blessing the lot us us you massive legend mint crack! The first subscribe in a long time cuz!
Thank you! I'm almost done editing the next video, too!

this youtube channel is the shit ... informative and funny
Thank you! I hope to have the next PhotoScan video done soon!
Excellent work!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Your tutorials are the best!
Thank you, Marco! I'm very happy you enjoy them! Another one should be out within a few months.
Love your videos dude - thanks for taking the time to teach us the wacky world of photogrammetry :)
Thanks, Paul! I'm glad to share it with you!

really good stuff there man!
Thanks! I'm beginning recording of the next guide this week!
regarding 3d scanning recently I sold my dota2 items on steam and bought realitycapture 30day licence on steam, it works like a charm.
Cool, Reality Capture is a great program capable of generating incredible detail! I hope to try it out myself this year.
Hey Joe,
I've enjoyed your tutorials, thank you for your work. Just got Photoscan Pro after trying out the HTC Vive VR head set with the program on steam called Destinations. ClassyDogFilms WoW!!!Reaaally??
No WaY?!?
But im on phone and my front camera is broken ;).
Good luck trying to see me :)
Your welcome.
Very good stuff. Love your vids man!
Thank you! I'm looking forward to getting the next one done!
Nice one! I'd love to chat with you on photogrammetry sometime. You do skype chat at all?
Sure, I'd be happy to! I do have Skype, just email me (classydogfilms@gmail) and I'll give you my info!
Sweet! Sending email today...2 weeks later. My bad.
love your videos
Thank you! I hope to have the next one ready very soon!
Maybe in the 4th episode, you should text out scanned data that you made into Unreal Engine 4!
Thanks, Colin! I'll see if I can get Unreal Engine figured out in time to include something from it. Thanks for the suggestion, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Just remember that Unreal Engine uses FBX.files instead of OBJ.files
Colin Cornell Thanks, I didn't know that! I've never used FBX before, but I'll try it out.
the number one!
great tips
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!
DDR5 is only available in the futur, today the best you can get is DDR4 RAM. But I think you meant DDR4 RAM.
Doh! You're right. I'm a noob, didn't even notice that mistake.
Are you gonna do some comparison videos on photoscan vs reality capture?
If I have time to download the program and try it out, I will!
You rock my slots !
+maayaa77 I wish I got the compliment more often! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Your Zbrush work is really cool!

+maayaa77 Sure, I will keep that in mind when working on the next ones! Thanks for the suggestion!
Please come back please I love your videos please come back in 2017
Thank you! I actually have a new PhotoScan video that's going to be over 20 minutes long coming out soon! I hope you'll enjoy it! It should be out before September.
Also missing you. I'm holding you to this!
Hopefully it will be worth the wait! It's a long one!
Talking about surface scan textures, can you share your approach on making them tileable on all channels at once?(clonestamping)?
That's a good question! I may be making a special "secret" extra guide focused just on capturing surfaces for textures. If I do, I'll be sure to include all that sort of information in there!
ClassyDogFilms , so far I know only 2 methods: copying and ofseting group of channels then masking for the edge continuity. And clonestamping all channels at once with affinity photo software.

Hi, thanks for your viedos they are very useful. Can you tell what is the best software to make photoscan the large objects ?(building, land.....)
Thanks for the kind words! In addition to Agisoft PhotoScan, you can also use Reality Capture. Reality Capture is able to handle a lot more photos without long processing times.
Xeons are gonna be amazing for this I think, like multiple 8 core cpu's :O
Ryzen is better!!! lol
Thank you for #the #update. lol :D 6:37
Hi,
can you make a video on how to make photogrammetry on big structures such as airports or hospitals?
Yes, I have a segment devoted to big stuff like that in the upcoming guide!
nice,
I really can't wait for the upcoming video.
And also hoping for a video for internal building photogrammetry.
Thank you.
:)
:)

It's great for scanning big buildings because it can handle much larger data sets than PhotoScan. It's also pretty fast at processing.
Dear Dog, would you please tell me what kind of DSLR you use for 3D scanning thank you.
Hi! I myself use a Canon T2i (aka 550D).
LEEEGEEEEND!!!!!!!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, I hope to have the next video out before September. It's going to be my longest one yet!
Hello sir, can you tell me when the part 4 will be done ?
thk you
Yes sir, Part 4 should be uploaded on Monday, November 20th!
that's cool, thk.
I really want to get into this but can my 2015 iMac 5K retina 4ghz i7 32gb-RAM handle this? also can you export that mesh into Cinema 4D ? please help thanks in advanced
Yes, you should have no problem using PhotoScan with your computer! Nice Shitter.
Why you cheeky little...
Awesome vid, crap, just realised I didnt subscribe your channel.. damn me.. fixed ;P
Haha, thank you, Grzegorz! Hope you're doing well!
Almost 3000$ for PC
Sounds like a wet dream for somebody who lives in east Europe :(
Yes, I know it is a very high budget for many people.
How do you build a computer qith a gpu AND a cpu????
It's easy! Just make sure you get a motherboard that is compatible with the CPU and GPU you plan to use, and it should work perfectly.
can you share those BENCHMARK pictures to test my RIG ?
2xXeon e5 2670-v3 (12c-24t)=( 24c-48t) 6xGPUs=Titan X(2016) + 2X Titan XMmaxwell +Gtx980 +2xGTX 780
and 64Gb of ECC REG RAM
Wow, sounds like a good computer! Unfortunately, I think I deleted the source pictures a while ago to free up some hard drive space. But I will double check to be sure!
wait, ddr5 ram?
If you cross out the 4 and write a 5 then you can have DDR5 RAM.
ClassyDogFilms omg thats awesome
Congrats for the build, but I'm sorry to say this: It was overpriced as hell frozen over considering the overall performance and the fact that you built it yourself (which I believe is great and important for everyone to do at least once). I don't understand where the money went.

Let's see all the new videos this helps you create :)
Oh, I see what you mean now. Yes, I know for sure it will help a lot with rendering the upcoming videos! Thanks, Vlad!
"Soon"...LOL
4:11 "Clown Porn"
No mustache, no credibility.
"of ddr5 ram" hehe
I'm a PC newb!
24 million fucking faces for a picture of ground?! What the hell dude
That's not even a lot compared to some people!
