I would like to just talk about the wonderful song choices for this series. The first song here "War of Hearts" by Ruelle, is all about loving someone you shouldn't love, and even though you try your best not to love them you can't help it. You would die without them. And then we flash forward to Malec's wedding and the song is "I get to love you" by Ruelle. The song is about loving someone, and it's the best thing that has ever happened to Alec and Magnus, they GET to love each other. Not only are the two songs by the same singer, which symbolizes how it is still their story, and the only thing that has changed is the fact that they don't have to hide anymore. They are still the same people, however, instead of trying not to love each other they now get to love each other. "I can't help but love you, even though I try not to" and "I get to love you, it's the best thing that I'll ever do" the parallels of the songs, written by the same person, is amazing and I could talk about it for hours on end. It's actually a bit refreshing that their plotline, unlike most, didn't involve cheating. Even here, Alec never cheated on her with Magnus and even apologized and got her consent. While it's not great that Lydia will be mostly known for this role, it's still kind of nice to see it end that way

One of the several things I love about this scene is that Magnus confidently stops Maryse midway while she talks but we can see how underconfident he actually is. He doesn't think that Alec would actually choose him, he is still unsure. We can see how he has this slight change of expression when Alec finally starts walking towards him. Till then he was just hoping and waiting to see what would Alec choose and then he finally has that sense of relief and happiness when Alec starts to walk towards him. Just🥰🥰🥰 also, it's 2020 and I'm still hooked on this scene.

i remember this was airing on tv and i stumbled across it with my grandma, we had no idea what it was but we noticed alec was handsome so we decided to keep it on. When magnus entered the room she said: oh boy he's gonna ruin the wedding to be with the bride the shock on her face when she realized what was actually happening was priceless.
when he said "enough" i said enough too. this scene is the reason i had the strength to come out to my homophobic parents. enough hiding. enough being scared. enough caring what you'll think. i deserve to be happy.
I love that Lydia checks with Alec at 01:32 to make sure he still wants to do this. She understands the sacrifice he is willing to make for his family. I think she respects his determination but has mixed feelings, judging from her expression a few seconds later. I don't think she loves Alec, not romantically anyway, but I think she obviously cares for him, and his family. I imagine she's disappointed but also relieved that she won't trap him in a loveless, political marriage. Their relationship would likely have become strained over time and they would have grown to resent each other. She's right that Alec (and she herself) deserves to be happy. I wish we had seen more of her in the series. She was a great addition to the cast. Obviously, Alec and Magnus are the focus of this scene but I really like every part of it. Every actor is on point here, and the music fits it perfectly. Really a great scene.....Also, the silent brother tilting his head at 03:37 like "uh...what?" is kind of hilarious.

Magnus helped him find out who he truly was till the very end. Alec was so closed off behind walls and rules and laws, if it wasn't magnus who 100% knew what he AND alec wanted, and was some other normal mundane guy I dont think alec would've made it out of that wedding.
I love this scene but my favorite part is this part, 3:01 when the music quiets down as Alec makes his decision to go to Magnus. You can literally hear his heart beat, its calm and steady. He’s not freaking out cause he knows exactly what he’s doing and that’s choosing his own heart, choosing Magnus.
The way Jace is sad because he knows that Alec isn’t truly happy is so moving, he knows what and who Alec wants, and the smile he has on his face when Alec kisses magnus is the sweetest thing.
I am still not over this scene! The way Alec went from having a panic attack to walking down the aisle to kiss Magnus...it's just so beautiful! I love that Magnus said nothing. His presence alone was enough to make Alec change his mind and choose love over obligation. This will forever be a favorite moment of mine! It just shows how strong their love was even at the beginning.
The passion is overwhelming. The fact that after Lydia said ‘I’ll be fine’ Alec and Magnus NEVER lost eye-contact, even when Maryse tried to intervene.

One of the several things I love about this scene is that Magnus confidently stops Maryse midway while she talks but we can see how underconfident he actually is. He doesn't think that Alec would actually choose him, he is still unsure. We can see how he has this slight change of expression when Alec finally starts walking towards him. Till then he was just hoping and waiting to see what would Alec choose and then he finally has that sense of relief and happiness when Alec starts to walk towards him. Just🥰🥰🥰 also, it's 2020 and I'm still hooked on this scene.

The fact that Lydia understood and even told him that he deserves to be happy even if it wasn't with her just proves how truly awesome she is. She's being left at the altar and she isn't upset or throwing a fit, she's accepting the fact that Alec isn't the one she's supposed to be with and I praise her for that. I love that Lydia checks with Alec at 01:32 to make sure he still wants to do this. She understands the sacrifice he is willing to make for his family. I think she respects his determination but has mixed feelings, judging from her expression a few seconds later. I don't think she loves Alec, not romantically anyway, but I think she obviously cares for him, and his family. I imagine she's disappointed but also relieved that she won't trap him in a loveless, political marriage. Their relationship would likely have become strained over time and they would have grown to resent each other. She's right that Alec (and she herself) deserves to be happy. I wish we had seen more of her in the series. She was a great addition to the cast. Obviously, Alec and Magnus are the focus of this scene but I really like every part of it. Every actor is on point here, and the music fits it perfectly. Really a great scene.....Also, the silent brother tilting his head at 03:37 like "uh...what?" is kind of hilarious.

Magnus helped him find out who he truly was till the very end. Alec was so closed off behind walls and rules and laws, if it wasn't magnus who 100% knew what he AND alec wanted, and was some other normal mundane guy I dont think alec would've made it out of that wedding.
I love this scene but my favorite part is this part, 3:01 when the music quiets down as Alec makes his decision to go to Magnus. You can literally hear his heart beat, its calm and steady. He’s not freaking out cause he knows exactly what he’s doing and that’s choosing his own heart, choosing Magnus.
The way Jace is sad because he knows that Alec isn’t truly happy is so moving, he knows what and who Alec wants, and the smile he has on his face when Alec kisses magnus is the sweetest thing.
Yeah and Clary, Izzy and Simon's smile too. They're all knew that Alec is happier with Magnus but they support Alec with his choice.
What I find even more touching is Izzy's sad face even when Lydia smiles to her. Her smile when they kiss is so revealed and cute 😍

I am still not over this scene! The way Alec went from having a panic attack to walking down the aisle to kiss Magnus...it's just so beautiful! I love that Magnus said nothing. His presence alone was enough to make Alec change his mind and choose love over obligation. This will forever be a favorite moment of mine! It just shows how strong their love was even at the beginning.
