This has to be modest mouses most complicated song to play but to be fair i havent heard quite all their songs but damn this just seems hard everything about it this band is great
holy moley i forgot i uploaded this, yeah there's more i think i have the whole set somewhere... i'll upload little by little, 11 songs total. satin in a coffin is next.
That was pups to dust. I've seen that video two times and just noticed it. It's cool because that video was released two years before Strangers to Ourselves.
The crowd here in PA sucked too. I was so mad at the shitty crowd mostly just stood in silence! I was screaming my head off so glad I got to see them, when they played king rat I was dancing my ass off stomping on peoples feet 😂
I don't get how people listen to hip-hop and pop. Like seriously bands like modest mouse use instruments and Write actual music and get no notice about it
People listen to HIp-Hop out of respect for what it used to be. It was invented by slaves as an art form of expression, but then modern media stepped in ( as they always do) and turned it into the garbage it is today. If you listen to Hip-Hop from the late 80's to early 90's some people get an understanding of what it used to be vs what it is today.
Satashiy while i agree with the notion that pop media waters down all forms of art to make it more accessible (and there's nothing inherently wrong with enjoying taylor swift, nicki minaj, ed sheeran, lil wayne, etc.), that's an extremely jaded way to treat modern hip-hop. there are loads of great hip-hop and pop artists around today.
I agree with you, rap being such an influence today could change people's minds completely, but it doesn't? And they choose to remind and repeat thoughts on kids that make them judge people and feel worthless, the money the sex and the hatred they portray in a discussing and rude sense makes hip-hop and pop alike completely disgusting genres of today. Of something changes and pop isn't about breakups and one nights stands and hip-hop isn't about raping women and killing individuals then I will respect these genres, as of right now no I do not
Satashiy fair point. just wanna add that "sex, money, drugs, hoes, violence" and the like are not themes exclusive to modern hip-hop. evils such as those have been perpetuated since humans could express themselves. just because they have leaked into that kind of music and are featured quite prominently in popular hip-hop does not make the rap genre a particularly worse offender, as the media really does seem to accentuate its faults. pretty much all of music and entertainment in general has been lost to greed. not because any of these forms of entertainment (music, film, tv, literary works) are inherently evil, but because it is a business, allowing for potential of financial success being chosen over ethical standard. i doubt nicki minaj, kanye west, lil wayne, etc. would be successful if a) people didn't genuinely enjoy their music b) they weren't making corporations any money (the corporations couldn't care less if these artists are rich, as long as _they themselves_ get a good return on their investments. anyway, what i'm saying is i agree with you, but would just like to extend your logic on to pretty much all media. there's horrible music from all genres, hip-hop is probably just the most sensationalised of music - which i think makes people who control the media and those who irresponsibly consume it out to be the "bad ones". i also think stereotypes exist for a reason. it's a by-product of theory of mind and having defined cultures within a diverse society. stereotypes definitely have their place in modern media, especially when used tastefully, without ill-intent, in an appropriate context.
It's straight up ignorant to think all hiphop and pop is bad. Shit, I'd go as far as saying we are at a peak right now when it comes to hip hop. The genre has so many amazing artists that are putting out stuff just as great as modest mouse has.
When the banjo comes out shit gets real
The most underrated comment on TH-cam.
seriously, one of my top 3 favorite songs by my favorite band ever
Igual
Wish the guitar could be heard in the mix, it's an important part of this song. The violin too.
This has to be modest mouses most complicated song to play but to be fair i havent heard quite all their songs but damn this just seems hard everything about it this band is great
They totally need two drummers!
It makes them sound way better live.
such a mellow crowd
They were all high
This might be the greatest live audio of Eric Judy on bass. Damn near studio quality. Fucking epic!
At 0:36 you see another guitarist hang up his career after witnessing the greatness that is Modest Mouse
holy moley i forgot i uploaded this, yeah there's more i think i have the whole set somewhere... i'll upload little by little, 11 songs total. satin in a coffin is next.
His Face Looks Incredibly Angry When He Sings, He Must Have Been Mad At The Shitty Crowd

The top string is just shorter. The tuner is halfway up the neck

i hear the smiths
Pure music like that. I dig it
The fuck is wrong with sound system here? Drum is too weak, bass guitar is barely there, overall bullshit sound.
Boring crowd
Goodness. What an awful band.
Biggie Baby Goodness. What an opinion.
Awful like Sade
