  • Was able to install a set without removing the inner fender like most have to do and figured I would pass along the ways.
    If wanting to use them as entry lights also, watch the 2 below videos to help go over how to do that.
    On JT using bed light to trigger diode • Jeep Gladiator JT / Wr...
    On JL or JT using entry light that ramps up. • New 2023 Jeep Wrangler... (jump to 3:54 where we go over adding a 12 volt stabilizer.)

    Thanks for the video. Totally helped me install mine without having to take the fender liners off. I’m connecting my white lights to a switch to use as side lights on demand.

      I have done it 2 different ways that have worked well. Both ways are covered in some of my newer videos, on my JT I just use the truck bed light switch as the switch as I am not worried about the bed light being on at the same time since I have a cover. On the wifes JL, since it didn't have a bed light, we used a standard switch, drilled it in and used a diode to allow the switch to trigger the lights or the doors opening. Each can work independently from each other and not back feed. Definitely multiple ways to use them.

    Hello Thanks for putting the video out there. I'm just starting to mod my gladiator. Your video is excellent info. camera shots and viewing also good. I will look for your other videos, looks like you have cool mods.

    That;s a great video. It ALMOST makes me think that I can do it myself. Although I'm not quite convinced yet.

      If you have ever worked with wiring, it is not hard, but definitely a tight spot to get into. Having a good light and long arms or half way flexible helps.

    Do you have a video link to the solar mount on your hood. I'm always having issues with my battery and with how much lights and other camping gear I run

    how has this held up? Im leary of using anything that simply attaches with "tape" especially on the exterior

      I have a set on my JT my wife's JL and a friend's JT and none of us have had any issues and were all put on around the same time.

      @@ajphillipsjeeps any gaps? I saw a video where someone added black silicone around the edges to fill in gaps that were left behind

    • @ajphillipsjeeps
      @ajphillipsjeeps  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ErnieB573 nope, no gaps but you have to make sure and line it up right. During test fitting I did notice if it's not snug and in the right place it wouldn't lay down correctly.

    Very good video, waiting for mine to arrive and I always wanted to know if these could be installed without removing the fenders… Question answered! Also I was wondering if you could wire the entry lights to turn on when you put the Jeep in reverse? I always thought it would be more useful especially on the trail what do you think?

    • @ajphillipsjeeps
      @ajphillipsjeeps  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is possible but requires a decent knowledge of electrical wiring. First watch my other video th-cam.com/video/445Jf82PxQg/w-d-xo.html and some of my emergency light installs that tap into reverse lights for overrides. I touched a little on the 2 in one out switch in both videos and there are a few ways to make this happen. Can be different for a JT vs JL also. Using the JT like what I did, you can use the bed light to trigger it on one input and then reverse lights as the second input. You could also run them off of switches as the 2nd input and have them come on separate or together. I decided that using the bed light worked for me so I could still trigger on when needed if backing but also have the Mpower Fascia as reverse lights so side lights are not needed as much.
      If running a JL and not having the bed light, you could again wire the 2 in 1 out relay and do 1 as door entry light and 2 as reverse switch. I believe I mentioned in the video that I did not do that since I already had the bed light wire ran. If you paired 2 of the relays together, 1 could be entry, 2 would be input from 2nd device and would have reverse and Aux switch trigger as 1 and 2 on that one. I would probably say to wire them to an actual relay, which I will be covering in a future video when my wife's new JL gets here. Hopefully this helps with a thought process and please let me know if I can help further.

      Thank you very much for all the info it’s really appreciated, at first I thought I would open the fuse box and tap into a fuse for the reverse lights, nice and easy…
      Now I can see that I will have a lot more studying to do, also I own a JT 2022 Rubicon.
      Thanks again!

    Have you had any issues with double sided tape? I was worried about that falling off over time.
