My favorite suits are probably Kyuranger. Everyone looks so different, and then some of them get individual power ups and they change even more.
Yeah I love the uniqueness, and the visors are amazing lol
you really undersold timeranger there, the way they integrate clock hands into the suits is such a smart design (minutes, the bigger one, for the chest, hours, the smaller one, for the helmet and seconds, the smallest one, inside the minute hand)

@@Acrimony_Toku Glad someone else made that point, but I choose to expand: you called the shapes "nonaggressive", but when the arrow of time is pointing at you, it doesn't really matter how sharp it is.

While I don’t think it was a bad idea to separate Lupinranger’s and Patranger’s designs, I feel like they should be considered as two sides of the same coin.
They are meant to contrast one another (especially with how much of a goody-two shoes Ken’ichiro can be or how little Kairi could care even for his own self-imposed rules for better or for worse).
Lupinrangers have black accents and have a mysterious aura.
Patrangers have white accents and their identities are public knowledge.
Together they a stronger design than they have separately.
That's a good point about the black/white accents representing their identities, I separated them mostly just because I like Patrangers quite a bit more but I definitely see where you're coming from!

Or he could’ve at least explained why Patranger ranked so much higher than Lupinranger even though, for all intents and purposes, they’re the same design.

@@soysaucetilapia2893 But it’s more than that. For example, Lupinranger has colored hats on black helmets while Patranger has black hats on colored helmets. Every detail of the suits complement and contrast.

10:10 That's actually a 5 on their chest, because, fun fact! Maskman was originally meant to be called Fiveman until VERY late into production. It's why they have the 5 on their chest and why their combined mecha is called Great Five.

Does it bother anybody else when the costumes featured details or patterns on the chest that SHOULD continue onto the back but stop at the seamline going down the sides? Denjiman and GoGoV come to mind.
Never realized it with GoGOV but now that I think about it, it might look better if it was wrapped all the way around lol

I like that every person I have seen that talks about the suits of Kyoryuger NEVER seems to notice that the chest design, including the shoulder piece, resembles a dino head. The triangular segmented yellow section form teeth, the upper silver(/gold on silver) band actually has a small black rectangle (both front and back) on the opposite side of the shoulder piece, and represents a nostril, then finally the red rectangle on the shoulder piece is the eye of the dino head. Kyoryugold is a slight exception, since his nostril design is actually close to his shoulder piece that has said red. But this makes sense since his chest design is meant to be reminiscent of a pterosaur

Abare killer will forever be my favorite suit. I’m a power ranger kid though. I remember seeing Trent morph for the first time. He’s so freaking cool his suit, his sword, the super Dino mode, and that dope attack where he “draws” his attack and the sends it out. The best

And I want to mention I enjoy your videos please continue making these and I actually like Battle fever J Miss America helmet I think it makes it stick out from others and I actually like the earrings on the female rangers in five men but that's just my opinion
For Donbrothers everyone besides the extra ranger is based on the story of momotaro, the yellow ranger is the antagonist of that story.

I could not disagree with a list more. Well, some of the early picks, but a lot of those 90s suits suck imo. & Kyuranger is the best Sentai suit by a long shot, but to each their own.
Yeah there's nothing wrong with that, all I can offer is my opinion whether people agree or not, and style is so subjective that its virtually impossible to find common ground across a 50 year old franchise lol. Regardless, thanks for watching!
Flashman and GoGoV let the actual actors wore costume & helmet without visors. Goenger has the most number of helmetless scenes which the actual actors wore costume more often than other Sentai.
Gokaiger is really good, but BoonBoomger and kingohger are really good mordern designs. I can't wait to see what powerrups and extra suits boonboomgers will get

Absolutely! I've got a few Sentai and Rider videos in the pipeline, but I plan to make Ultraman, Metal Heroes, and Garo content in the very near future

Yeah in talking to people it seems pretty divisive, It's probably because it's so serious and it doesnt have the fun side of Toku present in other shows ( just a guess )

I'd probably start with the original series from 2005. It can be confusing but IMO less confusing than Ultraman due to the relatively small number of projects compared to other Toku shows
I love all the suit designs
Although I'm more familiar with Power Rangers, this is the kind of detailed but fun list that I needed! Not 100% in agreement with your rankings but I totally appreciate you mentioning the little details like contrast and color trims that definitely factor into the suit's visual aesthetic!
P.S. My favorite one is definitely the Carranger one, for the same reasons you mentioned and also because I like the off-road cars theme which are more grounded in reality 😁

I think, Goggle V helmets are often overlooked. They are the only ones with metal ornaments and jewelry, that actually look antique. There are others with metal ornaments, like Dairanger and Hurricanger, but they look more like plastic. I always call my grandma´s old silver forks the Goggle V cutlery.
Dairanger have propably the most elegant suits ever. Here I think, the armor of the white ranger takes away from the elegance. I love Ohranger. Their simplicity, the visor shapes and gold accents are epic. From Megaranger to Timeranger, I have personal nostalgia for the suits.
Goggle V's definitely do look antique 100%

as i remember the signs on fiveman's helmets are the subjects the character teach in school. maskman has 5 in their suite because maskman would be originally named as fiveman

How or where do you watch all of these series? In the past, I watched shinkenger and gokaiger and found them much more enjoyable than their power range counterparts. Any help would be appreciated 👏🏻
You can watch a handful of them on Tubi.com, as well as shoutfactory.com. After that you can stream somewhere like Tokuzilla or Toku fun - just have a good antivirus and expect popups

10:14 I read in an article (sorry I forgot when and where) that the "5" on the Maskman suit was originally intended to be a "Fiveman" suit or symbol, hence the show's title was originally concepted as "Hikari Sentai FIVEMAN" but , for some reason, the "5" element was dropped and was replaced with "Mask" hence the official brand of MASKMAN. Fiveman, as we all know it, would be later used and seen in 1990.

My personal favorite are Gokaigers, suits and season in general, seeing them at #3 is delightful 😊

Personally I prefer more straightforward, "simple" suit designs like Kiramager and ToQger over busier suit designs like Kyoryuger or Kyuranger

Man thats a tough call on the high school heroes - weird but in a really charming way lol - Id say upper middle
I know you said this was your subjective preference and other diehards shit on MMPR because it gets the most content and they want their favorite show featured more, but putting Zyuranger so low when there’s a reason it’s so iconic is disrespectful. The simple, clean suit combined with the awesome helmets is a big reason why Power Rangers blew up, and I don’t think if American audiences had been introduced with any other season’s suits, that the show would have been as iconic. Every time I see other suits I think to myself, “yeah, this worked because of the MMPR suits.”

Even though I'm a Power Ranger fan and haven't seen many other Sentais I'm so happy to see that my favorite season and designs, Samurai/Shinkenger as Number 1 it was my childhood and I agree it's the best 😎

Aside from Toq 6, those might not be hazard line, but train lines, some maps do have do have lines in a similar pattern to what is on the suit.
Lol I'm honestly not sure, I've had different people tell me they are different things, but I do see what you're talking about in regards to maps
So, one of the reasons why Ms. America's suit looks so weird is because she's actually kind of a Marvel character. This was around the time Marvel was licensing out their characters to Toei, with the tokusatsu series they did with Spider-Man being one of the more notable results of that partnership. Ms. America was another. She was a relatively C-list Marvel hero at the time, with only the latest person to hold the mantle, America Chavez, being really well known nowadays, to the point that she was in the MCU.
Yeah tbh it blew my mind when I found out she was a literal Marvel character lol
Hurricanger, Gouriager, Shinkenger, Gokaiger, Goseiger, Megaranger, and Kryoyuger are my favorites.

If the site is up I would check "grownups in spandex". Its been down a lot lately so Id check out Tokuzilla or toku.fun but these sites have tons of sketchy popups so have a good antivirus and use at your own risk. And yeah, Its absurd that we have to jump through these hoops to watch Sentai lol

Honestly I feel kyuuger is the best in my opinion, up until the Orion form. I feel they could have done that one a bit better, especially the helmet.
Magi ranger is definitely one of my top favorites, but honestly thease all are verry readable as apart of the series.
battle fever is my least favourite and gaoranger is my favourite. i didnt like boukengers outfit at first but their suits are growing on me

Saru Brother is based on a monkey, not a gorilla. This wouldn't be a big deal, but it does actually make him the first monkey themed ranger, rather than an ape.
Kiji Brother is a pheasant. Kind of just in the name
Yeah when I was researching I saw pheasant, but also a lot of other elements and inspirations Toei pulled from and to me he looks like a flamingo or maybe an ostrich lol
For me personally, the Ryusoulger suits are the best.

My favorite suits are Ryusoulger, King-Ohger, changeman, and Kiramager, and Kyuranger. But all suits have a lot of charm. Donbrothers is also great but I’m not a fan of saru brothers outfit. Also now i'm expecting a morpher ranking.

I respect everybody’s opinions but Shinkenger and Gokaiger are peak modern sentai, my favorite ever is Dairanger though, it’s just the right balance of white with the main colors
Edit: I also forgot shout-outs to Ohranger and Go-Ranger as other pretty cool suits theatre unique, and I think battle fever J was sentai 2? If not then I also love the second sentai, based on cards with the extra hero being Biguu One
Personally, for me the Hurricaneger is the best, the armor-like sleeves, each ranger has their own element emblem, the color choices for costumes (the light/dark blue, burgundy red),.. Top notch

Without refreshing my memory, I'm very partial to the Goranger suits, along with Dekaranger, Go-Onger, and the ToQger suits.
The number motifs are really cool, and suits with lips are kind of lame imo. Also, material and finish really matter.

Jetman has the best Sentai spandex design for me also on the mech design.
But Gingaman spandex design is totally iconic and easily recognizable

Imagine thinking Zyuranger suits are mid. Forget MMPR, they're simple and sleek, with just the right amount of contrast. They still have some of the best sculpted helmets to date.
Compared to Abaranger and Ryusoulger, yep suits are mid lol
If I remember correctly, Battle Fever J's suits are supposed to actually be real forms rather than suits over the humans. The manga shows it a lot better, but the helmets are their actual faces.

My favourite suit designs are a little biased. Cause I love the Gekiranger suits and the Kyouryuuger suits. They are my favourites.
Was it just me that thought the helmets of Dekaranger / PR SPD made them look like a villain team?
There is something ominous about the sleaked back pointy part of the visor that always made me think these helmets would have fit great on a villain ranger team.
Also the way the visors resemble the visor of KR Kiva or even Venom's eyes makes it look kinda evil as well IMO
I would've had Dekaranger higher in my list just on how professional and uniform looking their suits are
I think Ryusoulger would have benefitted from having a silver shoulder piece in addition to the silver arm
Kyoryuger, I think would have loved more balanced by adding yellow trims on the lower garment
Megaranger, I would have to lower its placement because of the horizontal piece with different colored squares, it throws the rest of the suit off
Kakuranger, I can respect the placement
LuPat, when considered together would wish Patranger had more dominant white colors equal to Lupinranger's dominant black
Gaoranger, I want to place it higher among animal and dinosaur teams, felt like the suit had perfect balance and simplicity
I don't know most of the costumes that use white I tend to put them lower on the list.
