So yeah, I'm pissed. I don't really like this show, because I think they've done so many things wrong when it comes to showing mental illness and depression etc. but Justin was literally the best character and he deserved so much better. I watched this season basically only for his story line and am completely annoyed with his ending. So rude, so unnecessary, Brandon Flynn really deserved better.
In this video I left out many important parts of the story, like his relationship with Bryce and Hannah and so on, because I wanted to focus mainly on his past, his circumstances and his relationship with Clay, the Jensens and Jessica. I really hate the message the show is sending with his ending, because it's basically saying that if you are born into the wrong circumstances, there is no way of ever getting out of them. So yeah, I wouldn't recommend this show to anybody, especially not to someone struggling with mental illness themselves.

Exactly, killing him off was unnecessary and the storyline for his death was so rushed. They should’ve just let him graduate with his friends.

I cried so much 😭 I can’t believe they did this. So basically him finally having a good home, friends & family that care about him, trying to change and turning his life around was all for nothing and he was gonna die regardless. Bullshit. You’re absolutely right about the message they’re trying to send. They were supposed to be giving hope to people. It’s disgusting and this show shouldn’t have been allowed to have more than one season. It’s not spreading awareness for anything. If they really wanted to, they should have had him showing symptoms, be tested positive for HIV earlier on and shown everyone supporting him. It was so rushed and a cheap way for him to die. It seems they just wanted to make it as tragic and emotional as possible. It would have at least made more sense if he’d overdosed but I guess they wanted us to show everyone saying goodbye to him.
I agree with all of this and I’m still upset... they only did it for shock value and it was lazy writing once more and made absolutely no sense for the story. So disrespectful to an openly gay actor to kill off his character that way during pride month...
At least Clay's speech was hopeful but I do wish this show had more hope in it. I don't know why they needed to kill anyone off.
Yes there wasn’t really that much hope in this show, especially this season. It was extremely hard to watch at some points. They should have ended the show with a more positive outlook.
@@irrelevanttous95 At least they all made a promise to be friends and be there for each other in the end and had a somber burial of the tapes. Clay and Jessica needed to re listen to the tapes this season. Zach had a reason to be rude to Clay but not to Justin
They were proving that HIV creeps up on you and you sometimes don’t show symptoms. They were also trying to be realistic, and the reality is that nit everybody has a happy ending, especially addicts, and that’s just the hard truth

He had so much going for him.. I really wish he could have gone on to college and lived the life he really deserved, but at least he was surrounded by his family and friends, to feel that probably meant more to him than anything..

I felt so bad for Justin and wanted him to get a happy ending! I’m pissed too.. I get they probably did it to show the consequences that you could die from doing that kind of stuff but Justin deserved to survive, to live, to go to college and have his forever family with the Jensens. Maybe even marry Jessica someday.
But we have to say that Brandon Flynn is really an amazing actor the scene in the hospital is just incredeble.

Not sure what I was expecting but I just ugly cried all over again. I was really hoping for a happy ending for him after all he’s been through. I wanted him and Jess to have their happily ever after. 😭💔

I know you have a different p.o.v and I respect that... It takes a lot of effort and hardwork to make a show.. I completely understand your point.. At places they didnt specify the fact, but the whole point of the show was spreading the message that suicide is not an option.. Maybe this judging part was left on us .. It is we who must decide the narrative.. Yes at times they did highlight this taking life thing for bullying and stuff, just to spread the message that this is a part of our life and how we must stay strong and do our best to fight our inner demons.. Hannah Baker suffered a lot, not only rape in particular... She could have fought back, but it was 2007 when this book came out, and you only tell me, who would have come out and open up ? She was traumatised... Thats the novel.. Respect the actors atleast and the effort! No offense please...
I absolutely do respect the actors (who did an amazing job!) writers and everyone involved with this show. That doesn’t mean that I agree with everything they’ve done with the story or the way they handled certain topics. I think the show was entertaining and I will give it that. And spreading awareness about these particular issues is very important, so I’m glad the show created some kind of dialogue. But I do think they’ve made mistakes in the way they showed some topics, like basically not addressing Clays mental illness for three seasons or the way Hannah’s suicide was handled. If you think that the show handled it well, that’s your opinion and you’re absolutely entitled to it. This is mine. Let’s just agree to disagree.
@@irrelevanttous95 Absolutely true .... Even I thought that Clay's mental illness story was portrayed lately... Yeah Hannah's case was also pushed up to the side at some instances... ... I completely understand.. And who am I to judge these issues cuz one can only have opinions abt such things when you are experienced enough... I am a teenager too.. Yeah, most people can’t understand every single issue they addressed, but everyone can relate to some. I always like to interact with people who watched my videos and talking about these topics is exactly what the show sought out. I’ve struggled with anxiety and severe panic attacks since the age of sixteen so I know how you feel. The most important thing is to not be afraid to ask for help if you need it. Back then it felt daunting to me to go see a therapist, but it is essential to talk things through. I used to feel like I was the only person in the world struggling with these issues, so maybe it helps just to realize that you’re not, and that no one is perfect. I’m also a perfectionist when it comes to university but it’s not the most important thing in the world!

So this is how they ended the show...ARE YOU JOKING ME?! Literally, the last scene of the show is a silent car drive. LIKE WHAT??? I was waiting for something to happen but nothing did. What was the point of the development, the rehab, the adoption if he was going to die anyway. Are you serious? Honestly should've just ended it after season 2. This show isn't even 13 reasons why anymore. There weren't even 13 episodes it was 10. Like... no.. just no.
