I just found your channel. I have been a bootblack for 15 years at my local leather bar and Wesco’s hands down are my favorite boot. I also worked as a tailor in a leather shop for 5 years, so tend to do a bit of surface repair to the boots I work on, GENTLY with a nail file or scotch bright. Ive also worked at several gay rodeos and have shined a ton on cowboy boots, so I specialize in colors, as well as ostrich, alligator…etc. I love seeing this more in-depth break down of construction. Thank you!❤
Man I’d love to be a cobbler. Something in the nature of the job appeals to me. Always has. I love the smell of a good Cobbler shop. Plus you get to see happy customers when you’re done (for the most part). Dream job to me👃I think it’s becoming more popular due to the fact that a lot of people are starting to understand the advantages of buying quality boots or shoes and would rather get em resoled than buy a new pair. Keep up the good work. Great vid 👍Stash is good by the way. Get the ends waxed once it’s grown out😎
the 'stache makes you look like an extra on the set of Tombstone...but you need the hat to go with. Enjoy the videos and learning about shoe brands I never saw before. Good Job, guys!
This was my first style of WESCO boots. Bought 25 years ago. Had WESCO resole them once they still are my favorite boots. Also the boots Arnold wore in Terminator.😉
Yes they are lined. I did Wesco’s custom fit option when I originally ordered them. First time I pulled them they fit amazingly. Never had boots that felt so comfortable right from the beginning.
I gotta tell y’all, I learned the saddle soap sudsy spritzy-spritzy method from y’all and have never looked back. It’s tiny, but life changing as it’s cleaned every leather in my house with aplomb!
Oh man, I love the red stitching on these! Once again, another incredible job! We do appreciate you going the extra mile working on a boot that’s maybe a bit outside your comfort zone to give us a video. So thank you! PS, I dig the ‘stache. 😉👍🏻
Wesco boots are something else! I picture these boots chuckling and saying, "Stop, it tickles!" While you're smacking the snot out of them with those hammers. 😂
I see tons of people responding about the stache……it’s definitely a keeper. Most of us old guys wish we had your hair too! Been watching you guys since day one. Your workmanship is beyond amazing!
You guys popped up in my feed last week, never watched anything like this before, now I'm hooked. Amazing work you fellas do. Cheers from Townsville, Queensland, Australia. Cattle country.
I love your videos!! Our world has become so tolerant of low quality, disposable wares. To see your craftsmanship and skill gives me hope that all is not lost for artesian crafts. Kudos for keeping the craft❤
You guys do such good work. I have seen other 'cobblers' do videos where the stitching is uneven and loose and the job hurried. You guys take your time and do it right, everything looks great. If I ever have a pair of shoes or boots that need resoling I will definitely send them to your shop assured that the repairs will be excellent. The stache is looking good. Keep it.
As always, nice work and nice video. From what I saw, it looked like those boots had many more miles before a resole was needed. I actually own a pair of WESCO Jobmasters and when they get a resole, they will need a resole !!
This reminded me that I have a pair of black Wesco Jobmasters set aside to work on. Maybe I'll pull em out and clean/condition/polish while watching. Thanks for the video.
I have a pair of Wesco 7500 engineers and one detail I really like is the heel stack has two colors of leather, making a subtle stripe of red in the profile. You guys should try that out in the future!
Perfect craftsmanship. I see how much strength and skill it takes. The mustache is retro cool, and looks good. You are both handsome guys! I’m curious to know what a job like this costs for a client?
I would love to learn to do this as a hobby / side gig. There is just something about working with your hands and bringing something back to life that intrigues me.
Incredible craftsmanship again guys. Just wow they look great. Heath the stash looks good too bring on Movember. You should be co starring in a British film from the 70s or 80s with John Clees. Blessings
I love these videos but I can't keep your names straight! I watch them in 2x speed and do so ad nauseum 😅 at that speed, the moustache fellow rocks back and forth at the end of the videos so much it reminds me of an anxious kid! Thanks for that chuckle
For those that don’t know Wesco, they are on par with the likes of Whites, JK, and Nicks. They make awesome lineman boots as well as smokejumper/fire boots. High quality, custom fit, hand made, not cheap but great value. I owned a pair for over 10 years of lineman work and they still had lots of life. Handed them down to my brother who wore them another 10.
That was a really good job on those boots. I used to wear that type of boot for years, except they were taller in the upper 17". Y'all do great custom work. Thanks for this video. MARANATHA 🔜💥 ☝️
Wesco did a great collab with chrome hearts. CH did sterling silver hardware and they looked great. Very overpriced but great. I’d like some regular wesco boots but even they are very hard to find in UK. Love American boots like these - super tough and built to last decades and beyond with care. Great vid and resto guys! The red stitching was a cool detail!
your new stache is funny because they way you turned your head to the camera. the way you look its like that funny goofy uncle in every weekend bbq haha
Thanks for sharing. Has me wanting a pair of Wesco boots, given their sound construction. Question - What is the purpose of soaking the sole leather with glue thinner? Silly me thought that liquid was water for the purpose of making the leather more pliable when removed.
i watch all your videos. that tool you use to rip off the sole, the the pliers /cutting ends. I have one in my tool box and never knew what it was for.? I use it for pulling nails out of things. But now I know its a Cobbler's tool.
I’ve got a question for you guys, I’ve got a pair of redwing supersoles that the counter cover on the inside is worn through, is that something that can be replaced/repaired?
Hey guys. What is the model number of the sole you used? I want that sole put on a pair of my Cabelas Kiltie work boots. Love the videos. I've watched every one you've made.
I always had that question too. That's why they put the boots are the shoe over that metal thing. So when they Hammer the nails in they bend. I think I saw that on one of their other videos.
Yep. The metal cobbler's last/anvil makes it so that it crimps the end of the nail, so they don't poke through and kind of grip what they're nailed into at the end.
Great work as always. Although I like the look of the logger heal, I turn my ankle just looking at those things. I will stick to my ropers thank you. You guys should look for a pair or Rios of Mercedes western boots to tear down. That is what I wear and I love them. Mine are 5 years old and look like they just came out of the box because unlike Heath, I take care of my boots. 😂
Funny you should mention them. The family that owns Rios of Mercedes also made our ladies sandal bases for our sandal business for several years. We’ve since brought them back in-house. Yes, they’re great quality boots.
That is cool. I actually replaced my Lucchese boots with them. My little dig was a reference to the previous video where you rebuild your neglected western boots. 😂
I see the you fixed the convex on the heel at 9,39, you did say convex you just called it a bump. I have bought boots with that convex left but mainly in the ball of the foot and it is annoying when it is convex in the ball of the foot. ecit in looking at that boot thought it looks like it still in convex a bit in the ball of the foot.
Yes, as they tend to lose their shape much easier unless you have a last that fits the original shape. You don’t really have to worry about that with GYW.
I love the look and robust nature of Pacific Northwest boots, but I do feel that their use of stitchdown construction does limit how often and how easily they can be resoled which is unfortunate. Anyways, great video as always gentlemen! God bless
Mustache looks good on some men, you included. But, I'm not a facial hair guy. Too much trouble taking care of it and I prefer a clean shaven look. I'm 70yrs old with white hair and olive skin (Hawaiian) and told I look about 55-60. I've enjoyed your videos since they first came out. Keep it up !!
The “I see what you did there” intro was brilliant. 😊
Beautiful job guys. I had a pair I wore for close to 50 years. Being diabetic I had to give ‘‘em up. My son inherited them and still wearing them!!
I just found your channel. I have been a bootblack for 15 years at my local leather bar and Wesco’s hands down are my favorite boot. Unbuckling those kind of boots you wouldn’t believe the size dust bunnies Ive found under there!
Man I’d love to be a cobbler. Something in the nature of the job appeals to me. Always has. I love the smell of a good Cobbler shop. WESCO, Franck's, and Nick's Boots are NUMERO UNO and Made in the USA. 🇺🇸
Don't forget White's, also a great boot!
the 'stache makes you look like an extra on the set of Tombstone...but you need the hat to go with. Enjoy the videos and learning about shoe brands I never saw before. Good Job, guys!
This was my first style of WESCO boots. Bought 25 years ago. Had WESCO resole them once they still are my favorite boots. Also the boots Arnold wore in Terminator.😉
Can I ask if yours are lined?
Yes they are lined. I did Wesco’s custom fit option when I originally ordered them. First time I pulled them they fit amazingly. Never had boots that felt so comfortable right from the beginning.
Terminator 2 he wore a set of Chippewa engineer boots. All I know is I’ve wanted a set of Wescos for ages! Bad ass boots.
Love the stash with the 5oclock shadow look
I like the red stitching. It's different 😊
I think so too!
I gotta tell y’all, I learned the saddle soap sudsy spritzy-spritzy method from y’all and have never looked back. It’s tiny, but life changing as it’s cleaned every leather in my house with aplomb!
Haha…that’s awesome!
What brand saddle soap do you guys use?
Being that I have sported a mustache ever since I could grow one, I heartily approve. Nice work on the boots, also!
Oh man, I love the red stitching on these! Once again, another incredible job! We do appreciate you going the extra mile working on a boot that’s maybe a bit outside your comfort zone to give us a video. So thank you!
PS, I dig the ‘stache. 😉👍🏻
Thanks so much! We appreciate you watching.
The red stitching is great 👍
Wesco boots are something else! I picture these boots chuckling and saying, "Stop, it tickles!" While you're smacking the snot out of them with those hammers. 😂
Heath- I don’t usually like mustaches, but you pull it off better than most.
Thank you sir!
Love the stashe! Has a Doc Holiday vibe:)
Contrast of the leathers looked awesome. Great job.
Well done, gentlemen! 👏🏽👍🏽👊🏽
I like the 'stache. Kind of a "Rhett Butler" vibe to it.
Awesome job like the color choices. The Stash is Killer
Very nice look to the boots. Keep the 'stache.
The work on the boots was beautiful, great job guys as usual!
Love the 'stache Heath! You really have the vintage look working for you!
I see tons of people responding about the stache……it’s definitely a keeper. Most of us old guys wish we had your hair too! Been watching you guys since day one. Your workmanship is beyond amazing!
Thanks so much! We really appreciate you.
Really enjoyed this video! Interesting to see how you approach an engineer style boot. And Heath always looks great rocking the stache!
Haha…thanks! We appreciate you watching.
You guys popped up in my feed last week, never watched anything like this before, now I'm hooked. Amazing work you fellas do. Cheers from Townsville, Queensland, Australia. Cattle country.
An object of desire having a pair of these boots. Great work!
The mustache is awesome
Wow! That red stitching really pops.. It seems like such a small detail, but it really adds a lot to the style. Excellent work as usual.
The stash is class
It looks like they are very well made boots. I like the mustache.
good to see the water-saving measures y'all adopted. +1 -- keep that 'stache.
As always, nice work and nice video. From what I saw, it looked like those boots had many more miles before a resole was needed. I actually own a pair of WESCO Jobmasters and when they get a resole, they will need a resole !!
Yea these had plenty of miles left.
Wow, these may be the first boots I've seen that rival Nick's in quality. It's nice to see a brand that still just makes the right with no skimping.
There are several other PNW boot makers that are in the same league as Nick's and WESCO. I have Frank's T1s best boots I have owned.
I love the Stache. Definitely keep it.
Awesome boot upgrade!
I don't know why I like this design -- but I surely and definitely do!!! Great work Gents!!!! Be Safe
Thanks so much! Yeah, this is a good looking style.
Digging the Dirty Sanchez stash
Appreciate the effort y'all put into this one. Beautiful result fellas!
Great resole. Love the double red stitching. Have a blessed weekend gentlemen. Keep the mustache. 👍
Thank you! Have a blessed weekend as well.
Another one! Great job guys!!!
This reminded me that I have a pair of black Wesco Jobmasters set aside to work on. Maybe I'll pull em out and clean/condition/polish while watching. Thanks for the video.
This took me back to my late teens thru late 20s Carolina engineer boots were always on my feet except when on a boat fishing, nice job guys
I have a pair of Wesco 7500 engineers and one detail I really like is the heel stack has two colors of leather, making a subtle stripe of red in the profile. You guys should try that out in the future!
Beautiful work as usual. You have to have talent and heart to work. Greetings from Poland from the city of Radomsko 🙂💪👋
That boots were beautiful. Now are fantastic! Great great job guys!
Thanks!
Awesome work. Was surprised when using the saddle soap that you didn't undo the harness strap and clean underneath.
The stache really ties together the hair style.
Perfect craftsmanship. I see how much strength and skill it takes. The mustache is retro cool, and looks good. You are both handsome guys!
I’m curious to know what a job like this costs for a client?
Thank you very much! Something like this would be around $200ish.
I would love to learn to do this as a hobby / side gig. There is just something about working with your hands and bringing something back to life that intrigues me.
Was about to yell at the TV if you guys took the black dye out 😄. That black/tan/red combo is perfect!
Incredible craftsmanship again guys. Just wow they look great. Heath the stash looks good too bring on Movember. You should be co starring in a British film from the 70s or 80s with John Clees. Blessings
😁 Thanks!
Wow!!!! Amazing work my Brother!!!! Now I know where to send my boots in the future! 😃😃😃
Thanks! Let us know if we can help.
I love these videos but I can't keep your names straight! I watch them in 2x speed and do so ad nauseum 😅 at that speed, the moustache fellow rocks back and forth at the end of the videos so much it reminds me of an anxious kid! Thanks for that chuckle
You do beautiful work.
Thank you so much!
Just love watching you guys, you two work so hard on people's foot wear, love you
We really appreciate it!
Hey fellas! Good seeing y'all again. As usual, L9ved your video. Heath I think the mustach looks better and ya both look more similar now
My fave boot restoration so far!
Right desicion with the heal block
For those that don’t know Wesco, they are on par with the likes of Whites, JK, and Nicks. They make awesome lineman boots as well as smokejumper/fire boots. High quality, custom fit, hand made, not cheap but great value. I owned a pair for over 10 years of lineman work and they still had lots of life. Handed them down to my brother who wore them another 10.
Great reconditioning. I also have a pair of this boots to where the sole has become detached. I would love to have them restored
That was a really good job on those boots. I used to wear that type of boot for years, except they were taller in the upper 17". Y'all do great custom work. Thanks for this video.
MARANATHA 🔜💥 ☝️

Nice work. Respect to the craftsmanship 🧡💕🧡💕
Thank you very much!
Great 👍 video. Thanks for your time and effort
Thank you! We really appreciate you watching.
your new stache is funny because they way you turned your head to the camera. the way you look its like that funny goofy uncle in every weekend bbq haha
This work was a piece of art. Congratulations :) Nice ’stash, cool for those rough type shoe videos :)
Thanks so much! Haha…yeah, it goes with the boots.
Great Video Thank You For Sharing
Real good quality 👌 work
Wesco also has a factory rebuild program for their boots.
Perfetti come sempre,ottimo restauro
They still had a lot of miles on them to start. End results look great.
Thanks for sharing. Has me wanting a pair of Wesco boots, given their sound construction.
Question - What is the purpose of soaking the sole leather with glue thinner? Silly me thought that liquid was water for the purpose of making the leather more pliable when removed.
Do you get White's Nomad? I'd love to see them restored.
i watch all your videos. that tool you use to rip off the sole, the the pliers /cutting ends. I have one in my tool box and never knew what it was for.? I use it for pulling nails out of things. But now I know its a Cobbler's tool.
I really like your channel you guy's are the best,👍🏻💪🏻
Thanks! We really appreciate you watching.
How long do you leave the press on the sole?
30 seconds or so.
Would we also clean the strap underneath it?
Great... Now I want a pair those. Can just the lug sole be changed or do you have start over with new mid-sole?
But not $600 worth of want...😮
for the @2.42 and @3.09 time stamps are those brown boots I see Old Mulla boots as they look like old mulla boots?
I’ve got a question for you guys, I’ve got a pair of redwing supersoles that the counter cover on the inside is worn through, is that something that can be replaced/repaired?
Ever see a square toe pair of these engineer boots? Been looking for a square toed pair forever!
The stash is back! Kind of looks a little like Geppetto...
Need the Handle Bars on the 'stache.
Nice ! 😊
Hey guys. What is the model number of the sole you used? I want that sole put on a pair of my Cabelas Kiltie work boots. Love the videos. I've watched every one you've made.
might be a stupid question, but how does the points of those nails not poke through?
I always had that question too. That's why they put the boots are the shoe over that metal thing. So when they Hammer the nails in they bend. I think I saw that on one of their other videos.
The steel foot thing ir they use as a sort of back board bends them back . Then the put the insoles in.
Yep. The metal cobbler's last/anvil makes it so that it crimps the end of the nail, so they don't poke through and kind of grip what they're nailed into at the end.
What does a procedure like this cost ?
Where do you guys get your shanks?
GOOD JOB
Tash is very fetching Sir ❤
The first time around with the mustache, I didn't really have an opinion. Now, though, I think it looks good on you.
Great work as always. Although I like the look of the logger heal, I turn my ankle just looking at those things. I will stick to my ropers thank you. How long did this project take? Thank you for the great video, I always enjoy watching them

I have bought boots with that convex left but mainly in the ball of the foot and it is annoying when it is convex in the ball of the foot. ecit in looking at that boot thought it looks like it still in convex a bit in the ball of the foot.
Are stitchdown more difficult to resole than a gyw?
Yes, as they tend to lose their shape much easier unless you have a last that fits the original shape. You don’t really have to worry about that with GYW.
I love the look and robust nature of Pacific Northwest boots, but I do feel that their use of stitchdown construction does limit how often and how easily they can be resoled which is unfortunate. Anyways, great video as always gentlemen! God bless
Very true.
Fun video
Glad you enjoyed it!
