God, where the hell do I start...we're gonna ignore the chronic Fokker problem and instead point out they'd be going right past this Zeppelin at their cruising speeds. Now onto the Zeppelin. The L-32 not only never made attacks over the Western front, but on Paris? Ha! I've never heard of airship attacks on Paris, because they *did not happen.* The L-32 was flown by the Kaiserliche *Marine* in maritime missions, and shot down and torpedoed by naval ships in 1916, before this movie even starts. Let's talk about that little stunt with the landing gear and the Nieuports in general shall we? The Nieuport 17 still couldn't match up to a Fokker Dreidecker despite this movie constantly insisting on it. Dropping the throttle back that fast to pull that little wing smashing trick was impossible as your ass end would drop out from under you and you would start dropping like a rock, let alone tearing off your own wheels and prop and dragging you in as soon as you hit the other plane. The chances of a Nieuport 17 igniting the hydrogen of a dirigible were very slim to impossible. This movie is tripe.
It wasn't easy taking down a Zeppelin even with incendiary rounds the Zeppelins did not catch fire they found the problem was the Hydrogen had to have a certain amount of oxygen mixed in, just like gasoline the fumes (gas and oxygen) are highly combustible. The solution they peppered the Zeppelins with standard rounds 1st causing leaks in the containers than hit them with incendiary rounds. This was only possible later in the war with the latest planes which had a much higher ceiling. Also the containers being made from cows intestines where very easy to patch

yeah it’s unrealistic
They did it because in real like the plane colors or the French and the Germans were semi identical, so when the dogfight ensued you could easily tell who was the good and the bad.
They used decoys to trick the enemy into thinking that it was Thea baron
It's actually not true but it's an illusion
There was a unit jasta 11 that was all red which was the Red Baron’s unit they started off with a bunch of different colors then went all red later on
"The Valiant 38", Rawlings inspiration was Frank Luke from Texas and the Boxer Eugene Jacques Bullard, an American volunteer in the French army, became the first African American military pilot and one of only a few blacks pilot in World War I.
