Brilliant finding that leak. 👏 I just realized I have that same situation, u couldn't find the leak but my measurements pointed to that seam. Most people don't realize how difficult it is to figure things out while kneeling on an inclined roof with the sun baking you.
Is it two pieces of metal roofing running down?? That's a big mistake period. The water should go in the seam and up and over the ridge, that's not possible and they probably didn't run the Butyl sealant tape on the ridges either which if that were to happen with a very heavy rain the top of the ridges are sealed. This is just patching up bad work which is never a good idea unfortunately. The roofer should be sued if they don't come back to fix the initial improper install.
What's your opinion on putting a sealant like oneflash over screw heads on a R panel metal roof? I have a 1/2 on 12 metal roof and at the eave's the screws are in areas that puddle water. There is double back vinyl insulation that is building up water over time and holding water.
so to do this on my 210 ft horizontal seam would take weeks and cost tens of thousands in labor to pay someone. Seems like it would be better to try and seal the underside interface between the two levels of roof instead of on top.
People don't put silicone on your roof. It's a scam. You are being set up for a reroof. Why would you put something on your roof. That nothing adheres to. Do your research. Your welcome And I'm not saying this man is a scammer. He probably didn't know at the time. But by now he should educated his self.
@@YoBravaFrumAnuvaMuva Through The Roof sealant. Some silicone hybrids may work. Nothing sticks to 100% silicone, not even more silicone. If it ever fails (It NEVER goes bad, but comes unstuck.), it must be physically and chemically removed.

Brilliant video!!!! Thank you 🙏🏽
Unless rusted through, should not be a problem. Looks like it was installed overlapped the wrong direction. Good job finding that!
very nice job ty.
Nice work.. even inspirational.
Thanks for your advice 👍 🙏
Needs to be in the UK!
Excelente trabajo
That roof was installed wrong. It appears the panels are overlapping with the seam on top of the next panel. It should be under the panel.
Nice one
What the point of cutting it
Exactly, when the stuff wears out wont you have a worse leak? And why leave the seam opened above where you cut and patched that spot?
I think he is creating a mini valley flashing type of situation. But, it still seems ALL wrong
Why are you putting silicone and fiberglass onto a joint of over lapping metal panels in thr first place?
seriously, and 8:24 "and this seem is sealed!" 😬

I would try Through The Roof sealant.
Does it stick to pvc roofing

If it is like this, then whoever installed it incorrectly is responsible.
Where do you get super silicone seal?
8:24 "and this seem is sealed!" 😬😆😆
(opens up 1 second later)
I'm not convinced with this video, but due to the roof system, not the product...👍
That's the underneath lap. We'll it's suppose to be
Oh my goodness 😳
The roof is trash. Tear it off and replace. Can you say "ban-daid " ?

People keep saying this and yet don’t tell us WHAT WE SHOULD use. Could you please tell me what works?
