What I love about you Paddy is your are so humble and unpretentious even with your success on TH-cam. Build a waterpark on a mas burial site. What were they thinking. Look who won, "The Ghosts" You should have spent the night. That would be a scary video! Like always epic drone shots. You never disappoint! Always look forward to your videos. Have a great day mate!

My first comment as a channel member. The kid has been up north (Seattle) at her mom's for the past month so I've been cracking open multiple beers each evening and watching your Thailand videos (I started at the very start and am currently through your Pai video). Every night I have the same conversation in my head,
"This guy's production skills are brilliant. Inspiring. You need to become a member. He deserves it."
"Nah, that's the beer talking. Don't do anything rash."
Well, here I am weeks later, stone cold sober, and I have clear-headedly (is this a word?) decided to join.
I really appreciate all of your content. Looking forward to your exploration of Danang. Love that city. My favorite in Vietnam.

    Oh Paddy.
Excellent video of you from Hue to DaNang.
For me this DaNang moment is VERY emotional, as I celebrated the 2020 New Year in DaNang after returning from wonderful Phu Quoc island. I was SO impressed with what they call the Miami of South East Asia (DaNang) that I decided I will retire there, as I loved it so much - a mid size city right on the South China sea with great fresh air and a clean and uncongested city.
    What could possibly go wrong?
COVID came and the Vietnam government reacted to it in a bad way. They decided to kick out most of the foreigners by not renewing their visas. I saw horrible videos of retirees who had lived in DaNang for many years who were forced to evacuate from Vietnam because of COVID as there would be no more long term visas. Truly awful and SO disruptive to so many foreigners and retirees.
So my DREAM to retire in beautiful DaNang was CRUSHED.
Hopefully, one day soon, the Vietnamese government will reintroduce the long term stay visas so that us retirees can return -->> but with caution - because we will never know when will be the next time that the government will force us to evacuate again. It makes it difficult for retirement planning.

Excellent presentation. Da Nang is very cool. So much to see and do there. I had a very nice, and very inexpensive hotel room with a balcony overlooking the beach, and of course I had to take a photo of the sunrise my first morning there, and post "Good morning Vietnam". I totally missed that beach you visited though. Wish I would have known about it-- it is beautiful. Oh well, the high rise hotels overlooking the city beaches are very nice as well.

Been watching your content for a week, just got a new sub from the random thank you. In regards to any ancient buildings/monuments built in a tropical climate; people had to fight extreme heat/humidity to build it. And if anyone ever been to Vietnam the heat is unbearable sometimes you just want to sit inside an AC cafe all day. Kudos to you for driving around on that note as well!

I've always had a love for lost civilizations, ruins, really old stuff, etc., so I LOVED that unpopular ruler who had the nerve to tax people to build his own tomb since he knew they wouldn't do it for him. It's a beautiful place, for sure. I never get tired of seeing that dragon...too bad they didn't get to finish it as I think it would have been an AMAZING park (unlike all the faux European ones going up). I prefer that design and the aesthetics of how that dragon was created.

Actually you should definitely check out that guy, his name was Khai Dinh. He was a gay (or a transgender), "weird" crossdresser and a fashionista at his best lol, definitely born in the wrong era, wrong family, and was put in a wrong position (for both himself and the whole nation). Me and my friends always say when mention about him that if Khai Dinh was born in this era he'd be the baddest b!tch ever 😂.

The drive from Hue to Danang CAN be amazing all day! But it's a different route, only adds about 30-40 mins to the total ride, so I feel it's worth it. Directions are easy: From Hue, go to the coast (Thuan An Beach), then just stay on that road (QL49B) until it eventually joins back with the highway. If time allows it, this makes the full ride from Hue to Danang much better, then of course Hai Van Pass is amazing, before finally arriving in Danang city

Hi Paddy, I was stationed on a hospital ship in the harbor during the war. There was also a German hospital ship anchored
In the harbor called " The Helgaland " this was in 1970. Watching your video DaNang has changed tremendously. There
used to be an orphanage up in the mountain to the north we used to release the healed wounded children to. We would
fly them there from the hospital ship. You could stand on the deck of the ship at night in the harbor and see the flairs
and tracer bullets in those northern mountains. It was very unique and also horrifying to watch the war from that position.
I'm glad to see that all of that is finished.. Enjoy your tour. I am enjoying your video. I haven't been back to Viet Nam since
    I left in1971.

It's not all that clean, it just has less population that Hanoi and Saigon so it appears that way.

@@chrispekel5709 Poor you - got less general knowledge. Danang city got a better-organized infrastructure than Hanoi and HCM City, with a better mini-climate with the river and sea air.
About the driving speed, for ordinary people (don't talk about the crazy young men/racing boys), because there is no need to hurry here, it's slower and less struggle than driving in Hanoi and HCM City (Hanoi and HCM are busier cities). No hours of traffic jams and air pollution caused by car exhaust and chemical smogs. More than that, no beggars here in Danang.

Please please dont forget to locate the Tranmai Roots bar in Da Lat, ive done SE Asia twice so far and hope to head out again soon, really cool seeing you enjoy so much that i have seen and watching as you discover more gems for my next trip, but Roots bar in Da Lat would be my absolute highlight of everything i saw in Asia, P.S theres a back door to it if you can find it, you can get right up onto the hill behind it and view over the city at night.

You can get to those remote beaches, you just have to walk down the mountain. I've camped there twice! Oh, and I've cycled the Hai Van Pass 3 times this week to Lang Co and back from Da Nang 😁

If while there you crave pizza by any chance, visit Gordon's New York Pizza. 🍕 Tell him his buddy from Detroit 'Sal' referred you. I'm returning soon and can't wait!

I heard the pizza place to eat at is Pizza 4P's, which I would suggest Paddy try as well and give us his opinion as many people say it's the best pizza they ever had. It's started by a Japanese guy in Vietnam (can be found in Hanoi, HCMC, Da Nang, and also Nha Trang) and now he's branching out all over Southeast Asia.

A little bit of a back story. My friend Gordon had just opened his turnkey store pizzeria sometime last year. Prior to that he started off his endeavor with a humble booth at SunTra Night Market, by the head of the Dragon Bridge where I first met and befriended him.
Not saying one pizza is better than the other, I don't know the one from your recommendation, but I sure will check it out when I go this time. Thank you so much! Have a wonderful day!!!
