In 2021 there are many options when it comes to putting thermal sensors in the air. In this video, we take a look at four drones: The DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced, the Autel Evo 2 Dual 640T, the DJI Matrice 300 RTK with the Zenmuse H20T camera, as well as the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual. Great video - Does the temperature readings change depending on the distance from the roof? That is, if you shoot from 150 or 350 feet will you get the same temperature reading?

I know the mavic advanced can only save the unzoomed pic no matter how many times you zoom it. How about the Autel? When you zoom in on an object and snap a pic, does it save the pic you snapped or the regular unzoomed pic? If the autel saves the zoomed pic, then between geo fencing and the ability to save the zoomed pic, then Autel is the winner.

A question about the zoom at the Evo 2 640T: are the zoom photos saved as zoomed-in photos or is it like the DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced where the zoom photo is saved as a normal wide-angle photo?

How effective are these seeing thermal activity behind metal. Would you be able to see if a shipping container has thermal activity in it?? Could you use this to detect if people are in a shipping container?

Thanks for the side by side comparisons. I got the Autel EVO II 640T deluxe kit for $5,000 (with the smart controller). It has nearly double the flight time of the first 2 DJIs. Don't know if DJI has the modes... but it automatically can search for humans or fires.

The Autel thermal imaging camera is quite a competitor to the Matrix and even surpasses in some ways. Alas, but DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced having the same sensor as Autel Evo 2 Dual, for some reason it does not reach the level of Autel - strange. For universal indicators - flight time, quality, capabilities and cost - I give the first place to Autel Evo 2 dual.

looks like the Autel has the best footage and that on the bigger screen on the smartcontroller, it looks like the better choice to me if you can spend the few extra bucks.

No, it isn't. It's made in China. They have one drone, the Autel Evo 2 Dual 640R, which was at one point assembled in America, but not made in America.
