  • One of the most common questions for new podcasters is which mic? The ATR2100x is one of the most recommended mics for a reason. It provides quality recordings at an affordable price. In this video I demo the mic with minimal processing to give you a real sense of how the mic sounds.

I auto leveled it to -21LUFS and applied Mouth De-click to save you from that mess and noise reduction. The built-in preamp is noisy, which is common for USB mics, which is why I used the noise reduction. Schedule A One-on-One Coaching & Consulting Call ($95/hr): calendly.com/tansyasteraudio/...

Hey, Jesse! Gee, the sound is really good. With the post-processing you've made it sounds awesome!

They do sound good. These are the mics we send out to hosts and guests at Podfly because they sound good and are easy to use. The post-processing is just to save you all from the mouth noise I can’t escape and to reduce the noise. In hindsight I should have done a short section where I let you hear the noise. I’ll do that in the future, but the video I also shot today for the Q9U will be exempt.
I think a lot of people are surprised by how good these mics sound. I recorded a session earlier this week where everyone used Samson Q2Us and I felt they sounded just as good. It was my first experience with those. The key is in positioning the mic well.

@ravansam-un6id Here are a couple things you can try. Try a different USB cable and see if that helps. You could also try it with another computer if you have access to one. Other things to check would be the gain settings for the mic. If it's turned up too loud you might get some noise. It's also possible you're getting noise from electrical interference from a nearby phone or power supply.
