  • Nature has been recycling water on Earth for eons, and NASA is perfecting how to do it in space right now on the International Space Station. In constant operation for several years already, the Water Recovery System draws moisture from a number of sources to continuously provide astronauts with safe, clean drinking water. Follow the entire process in this video and learn how engineers are successfully turning yesterday’s coffee into tomorrow’s for these brave explorers!

I see Astronauts enjoy floating water and doesn’t care if few drops go here or there.
That speaks how well it works.

Still, without a 100% efficiency, how much and how offen its the supply of water?

Isn't all this equipment to recycle water heavier than the water itself? How much water did they bring with to recycle over and over into those 950 gallons?

What is the efficiency for this system? And can it only recycle urine, or can it also recycle other wastewater (ex. bathwater, sweat)?

    hey Johnson,
I have some ideas for ways and devices that could be used for washing in space. Clothes, experiments and astronauts.
There is currently a experiment on station that flew in Dragon on CRS11 that test different microstructures to use capillary forces to handle water in space.
I am very interested in the results as my ideas would use a combination of electronic charge and rotation to starts a flow of water between two bars that works against water flying off into random directions and against the surfacetention of liquid so water doesn't stick to skin and goes into water recycling directly.
I am still on my path to sketchy things out but I plan on doing some test on Earth soon.

I just was watching the other video from the space station showing the food coloring and alka-selser. I think now that some of those random comets traveling of course could be from the formation of planets. When the planet first was forming and to small to gravitationaly hold everything together. The heat from the beginning of gravity due to size of the developing planet, expelled gases, and some small chunks of lava would be expelled alone.

I'd like to know the speed of captation and transformation of C02 to 02 from a plant. In order to find the best plant or eatable plant too. Nasa do you have some kind of research? Thanks.

Seems awful expensive but you know best per "payload" what about Space X reusable rockets bringing the price of payloads down "significantly"? Also emergency stations of water can be brought up over a long period of time to fill an orbiting Mars lifeboat station in LOE or HO? JUst asking?

what types of Microbial life are good at filtering water? I can't help but think about Natures Efficiency and Perpetual Cycles of Ecosystems but they'd need to survive Space👀 I know certain Mushrooms Thrive in Radiation(Space?), and mycelium has been used to filter water and also distribute nutrients to other plant life for Space Grown Food, so a Natural solution May be possible. Ask Paul Stamets to send a Species up(?*) for the Zero Gravity Test!👀🤔

That could explain done of the rounder comets. I do not think any of the comets we see today are from our creation period. I belive these are from another solar system, unless they have an orbit around our solar system. But even then possibly.

    تعريف حجم الكون والخروج منه
What is the size of the universe? The universe is space, the universe contains billions of galaxies, the galaxy contains billions of stars, but do you think there are multiple universes outside the universe? There must be a new journey in order to get out of this great universe

We should show this video to all those people that belive in the "Flat Earth" Their main proof is that water doesn't fall and therefore the planet is flat.

If you can have a centrifuge to recycle the water why can't you have one for the crew to live in?

    • @gnautist
      @gnautist 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The centrifuge for cleaning the water is about the size of a microwave oven, whereas one that could create an artificial gravity environment for humans would be incredibly large and complex.

    • @Veptis

they actually use large gyroscopes and weighs to move and turn in space.
also small handheld gyroscopes are use to velcro on experiments to stabilize them in one axis.
it's something they found out when they brought a CD Walkman up.
fidget spinners would do similar but not so I forever because of friction against the air and in the bearing as well as gravity and structural frequency on a atomic level.

Could someone tell me please, if our telescopes and technologies have not found any type of life out there yet, i mean by searching through millions of stars and planets and spending all these money, why are we even trying to send a human out there yet??? Even though we know there are going to be harms toward them in the space. At least find life and then try to travel and spend money and time for researches/ And plus, I forgot to tell you guys, I have found a solution to reach the space and do researches in the space, without ;putting humans in harm ways.!!!!!!
