- Establishing a routine for sleep is a key component to an astronaut’s ability to function aboard the International Space Station. In this episode, Expedition 55/56 Flight Engineer Ricky Arnold discusses the crew sleeping quarters, why sleep is important and how they adapt for circadian rhythms aboard the station. Use the lesson plan that coincides with this video to invigorate your STEM classroom. I disagree that it would be relaxing as the proprioception is the sense responsible to relax the body. I would really miss the 6 Gs in Space, nothing like a heavy blanket over our bodies t help relax....lol
A question remains unanswered: "is the quality of dreams like on earth or zero gravity affects them in a noticeable manner?"

Is there a night time station where you turn off lights and cameras? Ever float around in the night with lights off in station and enjoy the view or the night sky?
What about air circulation? All the CO2 exhaled needs to move, doesn't this cause a sore nose?

Since you sleep in a sleeping bag do you still become cold and can you use a blanket or sheet over you but under the bungee cords

No because they fall constantly.
Nowhere on Earth does the sun rise or set at the same time every day. Up here in the Scandinavian winter the sun can set as early as ~15:00. In the summer it can set at ~1:30. That's a difference of more than 10 hours! This doesn't upset some rhythm for me, I sleep fine in any season. And what about jet lag? People travel to some place on the other side of the planet, the sun is up but they're still tired because it's currently night time where they came from.
This idea that the sun has anything to do with when you get sleepy is complete nonsense to me.
Also, isn't this pretty old science? We've had space stations since the 70s. Skylab launched over 45 years ago.

Because they are in a micro gravity environment. To them there is no difference between standing up or laying down.
