  • The amazingly talented tillie transcribed the entire series of Ceol agus Ól sketches! There was a tiny bit of guess work involved in some bits, but it's pretty much all covered. Finally you can read along with what these Irish lads are laughing about! And the little gems buried inside the script... oh my!
We're going to watch this again together in the Watch2Gether room on St Patrick's Day and discuss the translation, try to pronounce the lines and just giggle at the sketches, right after the premiere! Do join! You'll need a w&g.tv account to join: w2g.tv/gij57wy...
A full transcript of the "script" will be uploaded to the #FAHnWiki in due course!
    Editing & graphics by Heleendje
    Music: Cooley's reel
Sketches: Foil Arms and Hog (a cameo in the sketch Budget + 3 full Ceol agus Ól episodes)

I have to admit, while I didn't really 'take' to your other foray into, Soap, "Squatters", this one had me weak with laughter! In a way it's a shame that it's limited, more or less by definition, to being "one for the locals"... Highlights for me - the lads trying to 'one~up' each other in the pub with the "Dia 's Muire~ing", and the old lad in the corner singing "Sean Nos", a traditional form of 'singing' which has the effect of causing Spotify searches for the albums "Fluffy & Tibbles perform Wagner's Ring Cycle" and "The Music of the Night -- Foxes make love _AND_ war; Nature's symphony captured on Vinyl for your listening pleasure" to leap by 800% the moment some gobsh1†e calls "Best of Order" for one of these chancers! If this guy _really_ was The 'Real' Slim Shady, the killers of Biggie and 'Pac would have had to queue up in orderly fashion behind the line of music lovers stroking handguns as they wait patiently to "ask for a request"...
You know, it's a strange thing, but I can't help observing that even though (or perhaps _because?_ ) Hog is probably the least likely man in Ireland (and _definitely_ the least likely of this trio of merry troubadours) to ever be associated in a sentence with the expression "Matinée Good Looks", he, weirdly, is I suspect, the only one of our troupe of comedic players to have a decent chance - should he ever be called upon to do so - of passing 'for real' as a member of the opposite sex! Matter of fact, I've a feeling his talents are somewhat wasted playing Gorgons, rather like employing RuPaul to exclusively portray Pythonesque cleaning ladies! Well, we may never know, but one thing is for sure, there can't have been an Irish husband (or son) alive that didn't recognize that fearsome visage on Síle's puss, the one that makes one's gristle~y bits turtle and that signals it would be wise 'To Be Afraid... _Very_ Afraid!', or, like hearing the rattle of a vipers tail, didn't understand the mortal danger that attends the minimalist diction delivered like .38 slugs (or mixed metaphors) spat through clenched teeth..! "Hi Mum... eh, no, no, just, erm, _studying_ "... Good God, I'm nearly 55, and my dear mother is several years in the grave, (RIP). That fear response really beds in there, doesn't it?
Anyway, my last word, it sure is a pity ye couldn't have taught me Irish, maybe in the style of your highly successful course in vernacular Dublin~ese! First class stuff, fellas - classic FA&H! (9 out of 10)

It's Irish language, not Gaelic language. It's bad enough that people outside Ireland call it Gaelic, but when Irish people do it to 'fit in' with a non-Irish audience, it's rather cringe-making...
