I'm a 54 year old gamer..I remember when games were released complete..internet didn't exist so patching wasn't an option...I'm tired of paying $65 for " games in progress"..games released in pieces..Not only is it disappointing, but it's a rip-off.... WERE OVERPAYING!
Sure... Games back then had patching via regional releases(Europe versions were sometimes different than American/Japanese versions). Games back then had so little content so they were always complete. These kinds of games aren't every game that release, these are just the minority. Lots of games now are still really good, like the Metro series, Resident evil, Spider man, and most Nintendo games. Stop living in nostalgia and look at the facts.

I just cant believe how Battlefield 1 was treated with such respect and gravity for the time it depicted, never shying away from the brutality and fear that came from WW1, giving players the message that everyone fighting, no matter where they were from, were just human beings caught up in something bigger than themselves, even depicting female characters and player models that were respectful of the time; yet Battlefield V just spit in everyone's face and was basically just a photo-realistic version of Battlefield Heroes. The worst thing about the campaign is that it's disrespectful on both levels, not only are they robbing men who fought of their stories, they're telling women who fought that their stories weren't good enough. They could have had war stories starring female Russian snipers, one about Aleksandra Samusenko commanding a T-34 would have been particularly interesting and powerful, or a young French Resistance fighter taking back Paris alongside the allies. There was so much to draw from and they just fucked it up so bad.

Angry Joe came out with a full RDR2 review and a full Fallout 4 Review. He's been putting the work, I can understand if he doesn't have time for a full Battlefield review. Better this than a rapidfire review.

If Anthem does poorly, and I think it will, Bioware will be closed down within a year. One of their branch studios was already shut down after the tragedy that was Andromeda. They're on their last life. That same fate is exactly what's waiting for Dice.

Not to mention Warframe is now a strong name in the Genre and pushes out amazing content (even if its slow at times) for free. You can even fucking trade real life currency in tradechat. Meaning if you put some effort into it, you will be stacked in Premium currency in no time even if you dont invest a single ct. Anthem is trying to cash in on that exact market (Destiny/Warframe), and people who love Warframe will stick with it. Same with Destiny. The only people they will get is people who didnt like the Grind in Warframe or Destiny fans who hated Destiny 2. Whats more likely to happen is that Anthem draws attention to that genre, so people play that and then will switch to Destiny or Warframe after 1 month.
Battlefield is heading down the Call of Duty path. Everyone is already getting burnt out on Battlefield just like people did with Call of Duty. Both of those games are becoming less relevant now with MP games like R6S and OW.

the campaign with the little girl taking out the heavy water productions, was based on a real life operation headed by norwegian commandoes that succeeded, but lost alot of their unit. dice wrote them out to make it seems that a 14 year old girl did it. they are trying to rewrite history.
This game came and went without much noise! It’s crazy.. Battlefield games were always events. I even liked playing BF1 for the first few months of its release. But like Joe said, no one cares about this game, including EA
The games mostly missing because to the AAA publishers games aren't games. They are "services" now. You plop down a part of the game and sell the rest piecemeal over the next year. The only problem is no one possibly has the time or money to dedicate to this many "services". BFV is the start of the end of the "live service" model. I personally can't wait for this shit to die.
On top of that most publishers want to have their cake and eat it too. Look at something like Overwatch or Fortnite. There's a reason why you don't see those developers talking about Overwatch 2 or Fortnite 2. It's because what's the point of having a "live service" if your still going to abandon it in order make a sequel live service to it in a year or 2?
What a horrible game to market as a service though. The opportunity was here to launch "Battlefield" as a service, but they were too short sighted and incompetent to even manage that. It's a sad day that I'm hoping the suits at EA come down and dismantle what's left of DICE.

This game was always amazing. Animations are satisfying, mechanics like the falling after an explosion were really nice, killing people always feels nutty etc... It just lacks content. Why is that? Because EA doesnt give a sh1t about games with potential and because the game didnt sell much. The major let down was because of the historical inacuraccy, and thats a big mistake, but did people really have to p1ss on the game because there were women?

I used to get so excited for Battlefield games. I remember when Battlefield: Bad Company 2 came out, and then Battlefield 3. But for some reason, I didn't even get excited for Battlefield 1 or V. What happened?
Battlefield 4 ruined the franchise for me and I have never gone back. They released a broken game (at least on PC) and before it was fixed they started selling DLC for it! It was a $40 - $50 game that was broke so bad my friends and I couldn't play it months after launch! Never again! I do take a certain amount of satisfaction in seeing this series fail after that.
EA turned it into a generic as fuck annual franchise (although now they do a Star Wars themed one every other year), and like all generic as fuck annual franchises, it gets old quick. There's a reason why the newest Rockstar game or Bethesda game (not Fallout 76 though) always sell amazingly well while Activision, Ubisoft, and EA struggle to keep people buying CoD, AssCreed, and Battlefield: people get burned out really goddamn quick when you pump it out year after year after year. Dead Space 3 is what I feared the most, the result of interference from EA. Game is not horror anymore if you have human enemies inside. I don't mind if those were cutscene where Utiologist were firing at Isaac and he ran for his life, then watch those guys getting ripped apart by Necromorphs. Nope, we instead, go in and fight them, turning the game into Third person shooter. And DS3 also has no fear level for me at all, I DO NOT FEEL A SENSE OF FEAR compare to DS1 and DS2. The narrow corner, ventilation systems in safe rooms, and tight battle against Bosses, all gone, replaced with big area combat.
The first dead space is one of my top rated played games...I played through it 3 times, the second one in my opinion was not good and the third one I didn't even bother with

It takes real storys from the war, removes the people who fought in them and then pastes them into the story. Its done on purpose to cause controversy, they did it as hap hazardly as humanly possible.
BF1 is actually amazing and so many ppl completely overlooked it cuz “durr my guns inaccurate” yeah that’s the point, it’s called historical accuracy. BF1 may not have that same feel as the other BFs but its still good in its own right. BFV on the other hand is a joke.

They wrote out the Royal Marines who made up the SBS. They wrote out the French populace who respected their colonial soldiers. Colonial soldiers who couldn't March through Paris because they were fighting alongside other Frenchmen in Southern France. They wrote out these soldiers and spit on their memories.
So have most general history textbooks that schools use. I'm not saying it's right, but history dies and expecting humanity to remember every legacy that ever came to pass is unrealistic. If I die tomorrow I don't give a damn if anyone remembers me, because I'll be dead and won't care because I wouldnt have the ability to care.

I think we as gamers need to start actually having standards now. Games are just getting more and more unfinished. Lets review......No mans sky (unfinished at launch).....Mass Effect Andromeda (unfinished at launch)......Sea of Thieves (unfinished at launch).....Battlefield V (unfinished at launch)....Fallout 76 (awful and unfinished at launch) plus so many more.....tons more. Also, microtransactions are starting to get ridiculous.....now even Rockstar is starting to take it to an even more ridiculous level. If we don't put these companies in check now, its going to get WAYYYYY worse. The fact that more people aren't pissed about paying full price for games that are nowhere near finished is insane to me. Also, these fanbois and whales are the biggest problem. I love RDR and RD2, HOWEVER I don't blindly defend Rockstar.....Rockstar is a conglomerate company and doesn't give two sh*ts about you as a person. They want MONEY. I didn't play 76 until like a day or two ago. Honestly, wasn't as bad as the nightmarish stories of launch lol, it's been less buggy than Skyrim or Fallout 4 for me so far and entertainment-wise I'm enjoying the exploration more than FO4's recycled story. But that's just me

They release satisfying, finished games, which should be the expectation. Rockstar Games doesn’t care about making tons of games like they used to because they can milk them dry like GTA Online.

They even wrote ACTUAL NORWEGIAN COMMANDOS (who were by the way men) out of history to put in that mommy daughter team in the Norway mission. I’m very disappointed in DICE right now I hope the next game can bring it all back.
I liked Solveig's campaign, it was the best one in my opinion. But I do agree that they should have gone a more realistic route. I don't really care tbh, Solveig is badass.

Sure... Games back then had patching via regional releases(Europe versions were sometimes different than American/Japanese versions). Games back then had so little content so they were always complete. These kinds of games aren't every game that release, these are just the minority. Lots of games now are still really good, like the Metro series, Resident evil, Spider man, and most Nintendo games. Stop living in nostalgia and look at the facts.

I just cant believe how Battlefield 1 was treated with such respect and gravity for the time it depicted, never shying away from the brutality and fear that came from WW1, giving players the message that everyone fighting, no matter where they were from, were just human beings caught up in something bigger than themselves, even depicting female characters and player models that were respectful of the time; yet Battlefield V just spit in everyone's face and was basically just a photo-realistic version of Battlefield Heroes.
The worst thing about the campaign is that it's disrespectful on both levels, not only are they robbing men who fought of their stories, they're telling women who fought that their stories weren't good enough. They could have had war stories starring female Russian snipers, one about Aleksandra Samusenko commanding a T-34 would have been particularly interesting and powerful, or a young French Resistance fighter taking back Paris alongside the allies. There was so much to draw from and they just fucked it up so bad.

I do think it was a good review though, even without the usual production value that we’re used to.
Angry Joe came out with a full RDR2 review and a full Fallout 4 Review. He's been putting the work, I can understand if he doesn't have time for a full Battlefield review. Better this than a rapidfire review.
Steps to liquidate a Game Company.
1. Force them to release yearly.
2. Reduce their pay, using Metacritics.
3. Make them develop games less than half baked.
4. Make people hate the Game Company.
5. Milk the Company's franchise for all it's worth.
6. Take over all their IPs then liquidate.

Not to mention Warframe is now a strong name in the Genre and pushes out amazing content (even if its slow at times) for free. You can even fucking trade real life currency in tradechat. Meaning if you put some effort into it, you will be stacked in Premium currency in no time even if you dont invest a single ct.
Anthem is trying to cash in on that exact market (Destiny/Warframe), and people who love Warframe will stick with it. Same with Destiny. The only people they will get is people who didnt like the Grind in Warframe or Destiny fans who hated Destiny 2. Whats more likely to happen is that Anthem draws attention to that genre, so people play that and then will switch to Destiny or Warframe after 1 month.
Battlefield is heading down the Call of Duty path. Everyone is already getting burnt out on Battlefield just like people did with Call of Duty. Both of those games are becoming less relevant now with MP games like R6S and OW.

Yeah, another few BF games failing as badly as this and its done I think. People migjt imagine its impossible for a big series like this to disappear but EA has done it many times before now. Simcity is esentically dead, Command and Conquer a shallow mobile cash grab, Dead Space (they bought then shut down the dev studio). So i would be worried.

the campaign with the little girl taking out the heavy water productions, was based on a real life operation headed by norwegian commandoes that succeeded, but lost alot of their unit. dice wrote them out to make it seems that a 14 year old girl did it. they are trying to rewrite history.

The games mostly missing because to the AAA publishers games aren't games. They are "services" now. You plop down a part of the game and sell the rest piecemeal over the next year. The only problem is no one possibly has the time or money to dedicate to this many "services". BFV is the start of the end of the "live service" model. I personally can't wait for this shit to die.

This game was always amazing. Animations are satisfying, mechanics like the falling after an explosion were really nice, killing people always feels nutty etc... It just lacks content. Why is that? Because EA doesnt give a sh1t about games with potential and because the game didnt sell much. The major let down was because of the historical inacuraccy, and thats a big mistake, but did people really have to p1ss on the game because there were women?

I used to get so excited for Battlefield games. I remember when Battlefield: Bad Company 2 came out, and then Battlefield 3. But for some reason, I didn't even get excited for Battlefield 1 or V. What happened?
Battlefield 4 ruined the franchise for me and I have never gone back. They released a broken game (at least on PC) and before it was fixed they started selling DLC for it! It was a $40 - $50 game that was broke so bad my friends and I couldn't play it months after launch! Never again! I do take a certain amount of satisfaction in seeing this series fail after that.

Dead Space 3 is what I feared the most, the result of interference from EA.
Game is not horror anymore if you have human enemies inside. I don't mind if those were cutscene where Utiologist were firing at Isaac and he ran for his life, then watch those guys getting ripped apart by Necromorphs.
Nope, we instead, go in and fight them, turning the game into Third person shooter.
And DS3 also has no fear level for me at all, I DO NOT FEEL A SENSE OF FEAR compare to DS1 and DS2. The narrow corner, ventilation systems in safe rooms, and tight battle against Bosses, all gone, replaced with big area combat.
The first dead space is one of my top rated played games...I played through it 3 times, the second one in my opinion was not good and the third one I didn't even bother with

Battlefield 4 was the last game that felt like a battlefield game. BF1 was fun, but something about it felt lacking what battlefeild is about

I think we as gamers need to start actually having standards now. Games are just getting more and more unfinished. Lets review......No mans sky (unfinished at launch).....Mass Effect Andromeda (unfinished at launch)......Sea of Thieves (unfinished at launch).....Battlefield V (unfinished at launch)....Fallout 76 (awful and unfinished at launch) plus so many more.....tons more. Also, microtransactions are starting to get ridiculous.....now even Rockstar is starting to take it to an even more ridiculous level. If we don't put these companies in check now, its going to get WAYYYYY worse. The fact that more people aren't pissed about paying full price for games that are nowhere near finished is insane to me. I love RDR and RD2, HOWEVER I don't blindly defend Rockstar.....Rockstar is a conglomerate company and doesn't give two sh*ts about you as a person. They want MONEY. It has nothing to do with what EA or DICE did. The game is just fucking boring. BF1 was boring. BF4 was already slipping into surgical boredom. The last good BF game with long legs was BF3. Politics? Has nothing to do with it. "Development by numbers"? Everything to do with it.

They even wrote ACTUAL NORWEGIAN COMMANDOS (who were by the way men) out of history to put in that mommy daughter team in the Norway mission. I’m very disappointed in DICE right now I hope the next game can bring it all back.

Sadly, I think EA retains full control over DICE since they’re a wholly owned subsidiary. Bungie separated twice, so maybe I’ll hold out hope.

I liked Solveig's campaign, it was the best one in my opinion. But I do agree that they should have gone a more realistic route. I don't really care tbh, Solveig is badass.
EA screws up everything it touches. I knew this like 20 years ago and I don’t mess with them anymore. Look at what they did with Command & Conquer, way back when, and even then it was like, oh wow, they destroyed another franchise. Pretty hard to destroy a franchise that was as legendary as command & conquer.

It should all be released one time so players get there worth for what they buy . When they buy the game they don’t expect to wait a month or so to play the rest or the full game . I'm pretty tired of the same old BF, it's turning into COD with it's lack of innovation and repetitivness. Nevermind the outright gutting of it, on top of it all.
At least a proper Bad Company sequel as that isn't as milked and gutted as the current BF main line.
