    I think a fun one would be stadiums in Major League Rugby, the USAs Second ever premier Rugby Union competition (we don't talk about the first one)

    Good video - the league is in a turbulent time at the moment. It’s great to see more content being made on it! Let’s go Plymouth City Patriots!

    Two NBA head coaches actually coached in the BBL. One is a former championship head coach. The other is Chris Finch whose team currently leads the NBA one record.

      Nick Nurse was the head coach of the Manchester Giants, before moving to North America. I'd dare say that move worked out well for him.

    I’m surprised these arenas are as small as they are. I would have thought they would have more seats than the hockey arenas around the UK.

    Bristol are building a new arena with a 4,000 capacity.
    Caledonia's current arena is temporary - with the larger arena replacing the current one and it will instead be a practice court

    I appreciate there are people who like basketball but 99% of the country wouldn't be able to name a BBL team, let alone anyone who plays here. It's just not on the radar here.

    Does Britain use indoor venues such as at Wimbledon for basketball? It happens in Melbourne and Perth. In which tennis netball basketball and concerts share venues.

      Wimbledon is a grass court so no, plus the people who own Wimbledon would never allow it

    • @BDub2024
      @BDub2024 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@adamsayer11 Forgot about grass at Wimbledon. In Australia you get multiple football teams sharing the same venues. You also get sports such as tennis, basketball and concerts sharing. It seems strange in London that there are all these 60k stadiums, that are clearly underutilised. Seems a waste of money, but I guess there is a lot of money in the Premiers League. Isn't there a specialise $80k stadium at Twickenham, the maintenance costs must be massive. I guess private ownership is a reason.

      @@chesterdonnelly1212 West Coast Fever is a netball team in the domestic league in Australia and they get 10k. The Perth Wildcats mens basketball get 12k to 14k. • @chesterdonnelly1212
      @chesterdonnelly1212 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BDub2024 yeah that wouldn't work here. The biggest arena for netball and basketball teams is Copper Box Arena. Most of the major cities in Britain have an indoor arena of 12k - 16k capacity but these are rarely used for netball. Maybe once a year. And most of them are never used for basketball. It's just not a very popular sport in the UK.

    The BBL needs more teams. A minimum of 12, at least. There's no end of suitable existing amenities that can host games, and this can add to the flavour of what is possibly the most eccentric of all British sporting leagues.
    How eccentric? The Morningside Arena has a sofa in the middle of the rinkside seating. As home of the Leicester Riders it's light years better than their previous home of Granby Halls. And the London Lions were originally from Milton Keynes - they are very much the British equivalent of the LA Lakers.

    • @chesterdonnelly1212
      @chesterdonnelly1212 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Where should the extra teams be? Also I would say Plymouth Patriots are doomed because they don't have a suitable venue in Plymouth, so there needs to be 3 new teams.

    • @edwardburek1717

      @@chesterdonnelly1212 How about Birmingham for starters? The league has been wanting to have a team there for years, ever since the Bullets went under, and it's still a strong basketball hotbed. Other suggestions would include Cardiff - I believe there's a team in the WBBL, so there should be no problem in getting a men's team as well - and Nottingham, just to take Panthers fans minds off from seeing how bad they've been this season. Leeds is another possibility, as are Guildford and Brighton.
      If the Patriots are in trouble as you say, maybe they could relocate somewhere else, like the previous suggestions, or maybe even - dare I say it - Coventry??

      @@edwardburek1717 I'm not sure. Wasps are gone now and if they come back into existence it won't be in Coventry. I do think Coventry is a good option for a basketball team. There must be some rugby and netball ex-Wasps fans who will be open to supporting a basketball team.
