A Chilling tale for sure, The Wendigo taking a back seat in the flashback and letting its victims take each other out was definitely an interesting way to show its power over humanity. But it's actual fight was pretty cool too, though it did give me a laugh when it bit down on the protagonist's prosthetic leg and got so confused, for a chilling moment it sure broke the ice with that lil humor

Wendigo are actually extremely rare, and I mean emphasis on the extreme. Certain areas that have cursed can also hold the capability to bring forth a wendigo but still needs to involve cannabilism. There is a little more to it then this but this is the main legend we are told from our elders.
This was so incredibly written that i sat frozen, listening to it all in one go, staring at nothing. Just wow. Bravo to the author and to the narrator. This made my week, so thank you both!
Bro I was trying to go to sleep with a long story since it was 3h and 45 min… well it’s freaking 4:30 am by the time I’m done with it 😭😭😭 now I need to go to sleep and try to wake up at 9 💀
This is by far my favorite depiction of Wendigo in fiction. I'm glad Aiden poured himself into this like a man possessed, it makes the trauma he felt seem so much richer. Then to fight the wendigo with such a carefully planned strategy is just so good to hear. No horror protagonists making obvious mistakes, no underestimating the task before them. And in the end, he gets to earn his happy ending. Really fantastic story, and very good delivery.
The way your voice changed from the panicked story telling from the protagonist as he retold what happened to his friends, to being calm in the moment knowing that he is fulfilling his destiny was such a powerful moment. It caught me off of my feet. You are by far my favorite narrator.
Holy CRAP, this was better than I expected it to be, and my expectations were already high to begin with. I'm starting to think these longer stories might just be better than the shorter ones, since they take more time to flesh the characters and horror out more and just go in depth with everything. This was just so amazing. And considering body horror, including graphic moments of cannibalism are among the things that terrify me the most, I was actually cringing hard during Jennifer's consumption and the threat of the beast itself and its possessed victims doing the same to Aiden. And the way it starts off slowly and unassuming before building into the main event was well done. Gah, imagining the extreme conditions everyone was in, that stuff was making *me* feel exhausted and in pain too. Just simply bravo to you and the author!
I can only imagine the shaman’s reaction to having an actual windigo’s heart being delivered to them with the conversation going something like this. Protag: “Hey shaman I have a windigo heart for you”. Shaman: “You actually managed to kill the beast?! How many did you loose taking the beast out?” Protag: “Uh…… nobody, kinda did this on my own with help from a third party at the end.” Shaman: “Your telling me that you took this beast on by yourself initially and managed to kill it with only the intervention of one other person?!” Protag: “Yeah pretty much.” Shaman: ~Speechless~

That you are a great narrator, indisputable. That you are a capable writer (in your own right, lol), in my opinion, no doubt. These are sufficient to make your channel exceptional, to be sure. However, what makes your channel great is your ability to find original, intellectually stimulating and emotionally moving stories from a sea of mediocrity that is the flood of Reddit. Seriously, nobody does it better. I love the very 'human' climate that pervades most of the stories you choose. Nice work. TH-cam wouldn't be the same without you.
So well-stated - could never have said it better, really! 😊 There’s always such fantastic, realistic, full of emotion and giving you a true sense of reality narration happening here with you, Lighthouse! I love listening to you ~ and believe me, I have listened to a lot, many very good as well. You lend a particular brand of realism with your narrations however. Love it! I enjoy so much listening to these stories at night as I have sleep issues….. as do most of the crew who come to listen, naturally. ♥️🙏🏼😇🤍
Apologies if someone has covered this in the past two months, but it's SO INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT that it can never be mentioned enough times. Also, apologies if this has become public knowledge by now. From a realism angle, if you are in a group in dangerously cold temperatures that you cannot get away from, the way to stay TF alive is to strip down, use the clothing as both floor mats and blankets, then in small groups, cuddle together between the clothing layers. The communal body heat will keep you alive. If the ground is frozen/the cabin you're in has a concrete floor/etc etc and so forth, use that to determine how thick the bottom layer is. Always add more to the bottom. If necessary, a single clothes pile/blanket, can be more than adequate as long as the cold isn't sneaking up through. All of that said, be mindful of your hiking/camping capabilities from the moment you begin planning a trip. Don't think you're fancy and will be fine. Be realistic. Why do I care? I'd rather none of you pop up in NAMUS as a Doe needing identifying. Okay, back to the story.
You just keep delivering... This was absolutely brilliant, the story and the presentation, all of it. Part of what makes your channel my favourite is the over all quality. Stories, background music and delivery are all splendid. Kudos man, you rock.
I’m almost speechless but not quite. I just got done with the story. I have said things like awesome, amazing and great about the stuff that I have heard in the past but what’s the word for all those definitions combined? Perfect? As a cree person in our stories the Wendigo is a powerful creature that can be killed by a shaman with a steel dagger and then cut and burn it's heart. Scary stories around the campfire. They gain strength from cannibalism. Very good rendition of my grandmothers stories. Her mother told the Wendigo had eaten it's own lips and fingers in its hunger for flesh. Shudder.Thank you.
This story was amazing, the narrative was perfect, I literally closed my eyes and pretended I was sitting in a rocking chair in a front porch , a full moon out and just looking out into the vast countryside as I listen to this story

@@Raao1 not sure if i've heard that one,i'll have to give it a listen.
I'm a fairly new subscriber, but I absolutely love the way you narrate L.H.!! I listen to several different channels and find myself always listening to your content 1st!! And I love the longer storys!! I normally fall asleep, but will always listen 1st thing next morning. Usually on my treck to work !! Thnx again for all the Gr8 content brother!!!
Thank you!
@@LighthouseHorror Quite Welcome Sir!!
Out of all the creepypasta hosts you are the best!
Whoohoo!! I really needed a long listen tonight. Thank you so much!
was supposed to be my bed time story but couldn't sleep wanted to see where the story went. dam well done love your story telling
You are so awesome, ive heard this story before from a different narrator, but nobody comes close to you!! I ❤❤❤u!
This was soooooo good thank you
That you are a great narrator, indisputable. Nice work. TH-cam wouldn't be the same without you.
i appreciate that!!
Oh heck yeah!!!! I love the long ones and this one was AMAZING
2 hours of greatness!? Yes, dont mind if I do!!
Okay when the Jen said as a wendigo "Meee neither" ooooo I thought that was so badass 2 determined hunters meeting face to face with no fear
Don't usually love the long ones but this was good thanks!
Every time I think that your narrations can't possibly get any better you reach a new echelon.
Bravo good sir. Bravo.
Ok. I was wrong about it but close enough for me. Great job sir on this one, my thanks to you for an amazing story & to the writer as well.
This is actually rlly usefull
This is true, unless you're under the influence of the Not-Deer. Then it won't really matter
🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
I was having a really bad day but this just made my day! Thank you so much!
I love this so much. Best wendigo story I've ever heard. AND there's a happy ending. Can't beat that. Thanks for the great narration!
Part 200 of thanking the lighthouse horror for their constant uploads
I LOOOOVE the long ones, thank you!
You just keep delivering...
This was absolutely brilliant, the story and the presentation, all of it.
Part of what makes your channel my favourite is the over all quality.
Stories, background music and delivery are all splendid.
Kudos man, you rock.
Thank you brother, I've been looking forward to another long story! It'll be my entertainment at work this weekend ☺️
2+ hours?!!! Feels like it's my birthday! ; )
YESS! I'm so excited a long story finally! My night is complete thank you!
I’m almost speechless but not quite. I just got done with the story. I have said things like awesome, amazing and great about the stuff that I have heard in the past but what’s the word for all those definitions combined?
Perfect? There isn’t a word to describe how I feel right now. Wow!!! Kinda like a big O for me!!! I’m a dork. I know, so sue me!!! Needless to say I was in love with your story telling before this. I’m addicted to you now. LOL
🤷🏻 We all have our unique means of getting off I guess. If yr thing is cannibalistic monster-type-ppl, well...to each thier own I say.💋💗👹💦
Leaving evil things behind is a good thing. But let's be honest with ourselves. Do we REALLY leave all our bad things behind?
Stephen & ThatExoGuy I'm a few minutes in & thus is SO GOOD! THANKS FELLAS!
Im just listening.
Its great
Im where the avalanch hit the
2 days in the cabin
@@lindaarrington9397 it's a good one, isn't? 😁
Dang it! Close to where I live again! Lmao great story thou man! There’s something about your voice that makes me go to sleep... sometimes... other nights I’ll lay in my bed listening to the full story.
Man this was a tough one but a awesome story.
I love the short stories as I go to sleep. 💖💚💖💚 I look forward to playing this nice long one on my way into work. These are so good & I can really put myself into the place of the story. Thanks for the wonderful narrations Lighthouse! 👍
No matter what I do, If I click "unwatched" on lighthouse's content even years later I still find gems!! Every night.
Thanks Steven(LIGHTHOUSE)!
Just incredible LH!! You are truly magnificent!!
Last night the insomnia was bad so I actually got to listen to this all the way through without falling asleep..
I missed bits the first time around .
Your style of story telling is very visual it paints a perfect picture . It's like watching a movie in ones head
What an awesome story, one of the very best wendigo stories I have heard, and theres been lots! Thank you for an amazing narration LH, that was listening to you at your absolute best. Cheers both!
No fingers? That sounds like it would make hunting difficult.
This story was amazing, the narrative was perfect, I literally closed my eyes and pretended I was sitting in a rocking chair in a front porch , a full moon out and just looking out into the vast countryside as I listen to this story
Love this. Best wendigo story I've heard, really glad it wasn't just another cookie cutter "it weren't no deer and it said my voice back to me again" story like so many other wendigo stories are. 10/10
OMG! The story and narration were both sooooooo dope! I was extremely engrossed all the way through.... there wasn't a moment in which you lost me. I am rapacious for more! Thanks so much for your gift of breathing life into amazing tales! 🤘🤘🤘
Long drawn out torture stories are the best, they truly capture the essence of horror, suffering and desperation.
🐱What an amazing story and narration! Thanks to the author, ThatExoGuy, for the great ending! This one really tugged at my heart 💕
I LOVE LONG STORIES!! Thank you!
And I present, "Tales from the Light House". Ahhhhhhhhh! Amazing story by my favorite narrator. You continue to bring the best daily content for sure. Appreciate all the hard work.
The ending was great! I fully expected the main character to immolate himself with Jen, but nope! Couple more plot twists inbound. Incredible story!
Wow. Just. Wow. This was better than a movie. Amazing talent throughout, writing and narration. Thanks for this.
The main character is a real trooper like the others are saying “hungry” or silent then him being like “ ok everyone good” thinking logically having true determination
I’ve listened to this multiple times and never grow tired of it, really great job 👏🏻!
Glad you enjoy it!
So ready for another long bedtime story! lighthouse you have no idea how you voice and stories help me every night! Thank you again!
¡Esta fue una gran historia! Perfecto para mi viaje de 2 horas por carretera esta noche. Gran trabajo y gracias!
Ive been waiting for a long one to chill out to
Yes! TY LH! If y'all haven't yet, listen to the haunted grocery store! LH does all these amazing east coast accents, so so GOOD!
Damn good one brother,, Your the best on you tube!!
Id love to visit any of your National Parks, but at least I can listen to you and Dream for now. These story's are defo my favs, thanks ✌
The amount of emotion put into the narrative of the surviving character at the end, magnificent!
Love this story I definitely appreciate it. Because of these my work time is alot more enjoyable and goes alot more quickly
i am only at the 26 first minutes and yet completly immersed in this story. The voice acting is as always impecable, like, the slight changes in the characters tone tells you immediatly how they feel its so impressive!! Also the music in the background is at the exact volume for it to fill the silence but not to break the immersion. It had been a while since i had watched one of you video, and damn i had missed those! Can't wait to listen to all the others i missed!
Have a great day/night, and thank you so much for those amazing videos, wich quality keep improving, even when they already feel perfect!

👏👏👏 what a detailed, involved story. Absolutely fantastic 🥰
Absolute brilliance.. Narrated to perfection , story astounding.. best 2 hours ever spent listening to you .. I listen every day in the hope for a long story .. we truly were blessed today .. thank you lighthouse 🖤🖤
Pssst: welcome to the healthiest addiction meeting in existance ! ^^
@@janedoex1398 hi 👋, I have been a silent addict for years lol . But thank you for welcoming me . That was truly surreal, and kind ..
@@becberry166 Wait , what? Me greeting you is surreal? 😔 I live in a very rushed, melting pot of a city and the way people behave was already horrible before the whole lockdown(s) sheet went down...it has only brought out the worst in a lot of people it seems.
I am sorry that you seem to live in a similar reality that I do.
But here, in all the Horror LHG brings us, we are safe. 🖐
@@janedoex1398 I couldn’t have said it better myself My friend !! .. at least we know we can escape together on this amazing channel ❤️🩹❤️🩹 yes we are in a safe place here .. your so right !!! 🖤🖤🖤
Omg, I absolutely love these long ones. Thank u this was amazing
Now, when you butterfly the turkey breasts, do you lower the temperature 25 degrees to prevent the meat from drying?
Just when i think wendigo stories have been played out, here is a great example of how that is, indeed, not so. Great story with a fun and very satisfying ending.
Great job to all!
I love horror podcasts like these to listen to while I craft or game. I find it helps keep me on task, I have adhd and a good podcast keeps me going on the projects I’ve started because I only allow myself to listen to them while I do those things, pretty good strategy, I highly recommend. So due to that I’ve listened to hundreds and by god most of them pale in comparison to this one. It’s up there with left-right game for me, my ultimate favourite that I’ve listened to 3-4 times. Great job, I’ll definitely frequent this one!
💥BOOM💥 I need this tonight! Work will be a bit spooky 👻
Not to take anything away from Slumber Reads but your voice just gives this story more life and even though I've heard it before it was like I was listening for the first time awesome job here never had I enjoyed a story I've heard before
Wow awesome depth and I just love me a story with so many story lines. Your voice is is one of my favourite!
It is nice to not have to look at the stories. Every night before going to sleep,I put my telephone on my chest and listen to a couple of the stories, until I fall asleep
Wonderful story. Never heard it before. Wish you could do two hour stories everyday!!
Your voice is so relaxing when you tell your stories, I listen t to you almost every night on my patio because I haven't insomnia I just relax in my lil comfy chair, I'll be laying back and then all of a sudden I fell asleep and I'll wake up halfway through the story and have to rewind it again.🤤🤭
