Lenny, I am lusting after that Advance-Paris. Especially after your report, Randy's review and hearing them at AXPONA. Glad you made it home safe.
Thanks man!
Today my new A12 arrived at my house, it is a gem
Let us know how it sounds with the Lintons.
Would love to know as well
I like the way this advance Paris amp looks. What king of power does it produce, Fortes are pretty sweet too.
I am so waiting for your take on those Wharfdale Dovedales!
Being French, I’ve been among the very first Advance Paris Tube amplifier early adoptersi n 2006… Just resold IT a couple of Months ago and still working like a charm!
Soundwise, Advance shouldn’t be compared with Macintosh… Powerfull but lack of details , bold mediums , projected voices…
I’ve listen to the more recent models and we still get this « coloration ».
However, and despite a pure Chinese build, incredible bang for the Buck !
Someone was def doing their homework on this piece of gear, im a huuuge sucker for shiny glowy things with dancing meters! Need to test this thing on the big Polk SDA's!
I wish they would bring the silver faced units to the US. The image in the Australian HI-FI review is beautiful. Any thoughts on how this might pair with Polk LiSM-707's?
I like the looks of the Yamaha below the most. The Paris is a little to busy or colourful but that’s just my taste, obviously 😊
Something I consider most important is simply is this product reliable? I've had a few annoying moments with equipment that is not cheap but cheaply made and has failed. I only look at equipment now with a proven track record and an excellent warranty.
What are the warranty detail differences between them?
Can’t wait for the phase video, hope you have some Bob Carver content.
We fit a few fun stuff in but have to save some for the carver video as well haha
how dose it sound?
There were people commenting on some previous videos that thought you had left Just Audio. I thought no way in hell, Lenny loves what he's doing.
Are the knobs on the Advance plastic?
Not plastic. Fit and finish throughout is amazing.
Anyone compared the A12 to a Anthem STR Integrated?
Awesome integrated amp for sure but it’s not a McIntosh. Resell one in a couple years and you will understand a McIntosh. Even better, own one for 40 years. That’s the McIntosh value.
absolutely true!! But if you care more about sound than return of investment, AP could be a great option.
@@net_news but the A-12 doesn’t necessarily sound better. I was only talking about the value comment.
@@philipketchum1407 not better but equal and much much cheaper.
An investment is a house, or bonds - why anyone in this hobby would buy strictly on resale value befuddles me.
Should we not strive for the best value and performance for a great price?
Only pieces I see increasing in value are vintage gear from the mid - late 70's. And one could see why - the build quality from them from Sansui, Pioneer, even vintage Lafayette ( 9090 ) is far superior to anything built since then.
@@Audiomainia2310 b/c you enjoy the gear in the meantime and you can sell it when you need the money without losing too much.
I don't like McIntosh at all soundwise but their resale value is amazing, you can use them for years and sell the equipment for almost the same price as you bought it.
The Advanced Paris is a beautiful amplifier with a similar look of the McIntosh but without the McIntosh premium price. McIntosh is a nostalgic brand, so the question is, someday, is Advanced Paris going to be a nostalgic brand in the future?
I like where you are taking this!
That's an excellent question, but I bought my A-10 not only for what I refer to as " loss of diminishing returns" meaning the Mac was in my opinion way overpriced, but I purchased strictly on the quality I was able to obtain at a price that does not have me question " why did you spend three times the money for? ".
Forte 11:06. I’m thinking Cornwall IV with the A12. What do you think?
@@TINGSTARR your Cornwall's will sing - and if they could, thank you
I have the A12 classic and it’s powering my source point 10’s it absolutely slams nothing comes close
Nice combo!
I don't think I'd have that Advance Paris on top of the Yamaha A-S3200 like that if you are going to run the Yamaha. I have mine in an enclosed glass cabinet and I have two USB fans on top of it since it can get a bit toasty under certain circumstances. Just sayn'.
10:52 forte time stamp
Nice .
So what does it sound like
How do the new Parasound mono amps SOUND???
Well you will see them in the video tomorrow… kinda… but we also have another video on them soon!
Advanced Paris website is painfully slow though, can't even load the main page after 5 minutes
A10 is $2499.00 / and the company was Acoustic Concepts before rebranding. Been around for 25 years.
Advance Acoustic it was
@@Adi-hj3nd thanks for the correction.
Advance Paris, formerly named Advance Acoustics, has always being a great brand! In a way I’m sad they are going on looking like Mc. They don’t need that! Their sound/quality by their price?!? Unbeatable! 👏🏻👏🏻
Totally agree about the look
@@MrBonger88 Yep - complete ripoff. Are they Chinese-made also?
Soon big guy, don't know 10 or 12 yet!!!
Will be Calling!!! Brother
By the way your site says 2 watts per Channel instead of 190 I think!!
Dagnabbit I already have McIntosh. Now I'm so bummed....psyche 😊
You need to trade that in immediately for something people slapped together to _look_ like your Mac...it _"kills"_ your McIntosh... ; )
BTW, if you order it from Germany it's 1K less than state side 😂
One of the rare occasions we have something a lot cheaper in Europe 🙂
Am I the only one who thinks this amp looks like a white van special😂
That "little" Luxman weighs about 80 lbs.
From their website "With 25 years of experience in its national market, Advance Paris began under the name Advance Acoustic in 1995 with a range of five speakers developed in France. After expanding its range of speakers, Advance Acoustic began working on electronic products in 2002, launching its first integrated amplifier in 2004."
Great add in! Thanks!

The Advance Paris is a good looking amp, but a Mac is a Mac is a Mac. Been around forever and one of the few products that will increase in value over the years. Dare I say NEVER, but I will NEVER part with my Mac. Oh, the little Luxman is awesome looking. Would like to hear it with a pair of really high efficiency speakers like Zu Audio Dirty Weekends.
Not digging the look of the AP but sound is what matters to me.
I throughly enjoyed it especially on the fortes
@@ThatGuyWithTheBeard The Luxman on the other hand… schwing!
@@harrybaque5502 Partial to the sound and appearance of the A-S3200.
We want to see under the hood. Take the top off of the A12 and show the inside!
May get that on the other channel…
So…. According to your website the A12 has 2 watts per channel? Might want to proof read your postings
A12 has dual torrodial transformers for each channel - 190 WPC x 2 RMS.
Still have no idea how it sounds😩
Open the cabinets, and then compare. This is not a comparison.
They started in 1995.
if I put fancy wheels on a Honda Civic it doesn't make it a Porsche..........Mcintosh......there is no substitute!!!
McIntosh is a Civic with fancy wheels. 😂
LOL
The Honda civic is more reliable than a Porsche.
Really bad video. I thought this would be about the Advance Paris A12 as the title suggests, but instead you spend as much or more time talking about the Luxman amp, various speakers, and other components. I got halfway through and ditched. Next time try to stay on point, or check your ADHD.
Same. Unsubscribing. Seems every video is like this. Stay laser focused on the topic. I don't care about grills you don't understand. Or you referring to needles as "Sticks"
A nonsensical, noncommital waste of viewing time.
Yeah , they forgot to review it
I’ll take nonsensical, that’s a fun sounding word!
@@Lovelacewatkins139 But then again they never do reviews. They're just fooling around.
It’s not hard to find an amp that beats Mcintosh.
this
McIntosh is reliable, Advance Paris is not.😊
Styling is too flashy for my taste and resale value is disppointing,
Advance Paris is around for some 25 years. Just shows you know nothing about audio. And resale value? Why would I resale a perfect amp like this? I bet you own an Apple phone.😄😆
@@AnkoMark Hi Mark,
you are wrong, no Apple here, just Windows (since the early eighties) and Android.
I do have some experience in hifi, sales and service, including McIntosh, Advance Acoustic (now Advance Paris), Accuphase, Krell, Acoustic Audio Research, NAD, Quad, Revox, Cambridge Audio, Denon, Onkyo and many more, also many vacuum tube gear...
Highest reliability is Accuphase by far, then McIntosh, Krell, and in mainstream hifi Denon and especially Onkyo.
Mediocre reliability is NAD, Cambridge Audio and Advance Paris.
Their return rate is way higher than normal.
About the styling of Advance Paris, in my view it is too posh and looks cheap after a while.
At first sight, very nicely made, nice components, but China is all over.
Weak points are the speaker protection relays, developing bad contacts after a couple of years.
Trust me, I now what I am talking about.
@@fransscheyving3671somehow, when i hear/see ppl i dont know, say - trust me i know what im talking about, i have a tendency to just fade out and forget you and whatever you were speaking about.
I _hate_ when newer companies rip off the look of a great established company like McIntosh. Build your _own_ look and following. I wouldn't buy an Advance Paris for that reason, even if they were the most amazing thing on the planet...
Stupid comment
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
I’ll take any and all comments especially when people disagree

@@ThatGuyWithTheBeard Ha! It's hard work building a brand, especially a great one, and torques me when a company swoops in and rides coattails. 😁
And the Chrysler 300 was the Rolls Royce killer, right?
Certainly nobody is going to mistake it for a McIntosh, and it will only remind you every time you look at it, that you really really wish it was a Mcintosh.
I get it, the video title is click bait, and I’m sure its a fine amp, but this was a completely pointless video. “It’s got tubes and meters! You could hook it to speakers, or maybe hook it to some other speakers. You can see your reflection after you hook it to these speakers”. Let’s not take time to compare it to other amps in its price range, or compare it to the Luxman amp that would directly compete against the amp that it unapologetically rips off in order to gain relevance. Nope let’s waste 15 minutes, state the obvious about its aesthetics, and end it with a generic take like “you could make a good system with this less that a McIntosh”. Well, fucking thanks, Lenny. None of us would have been able to come to that conclusion without your expertise. What a hot take from just audio.
Y’all can do better.
I put my Carver C-4000 up against anything
