    I am beyond triggered by this. How can the University of Manchester be so damn cruel to those who are visually impaired! Wow talk about not being inclusive, I am appalled at the behavior of the student union. Who would have thought they have so much hatred for those who can't see. It's egregious and insensitive. Kick these fascists off campus for being so hate filled.

      They only believe whatever it takes to make them feel good about themselves. It's not about the deaf or the blind. It's about how good they can appear to other people for "thinking of a random minority group" that they support at the expense of the majority.

    When I was in college the students also had anxiety about the clap. The other clap.

    So loud clapping causes anxiety but not their protest drums and vuvuzuelas!

      Exactly! No this is a more PSYCHOLOGICAL move, to appease the talentless snow flakes that would be disheartened by NOT receiving applause for a speech or some type of artistic performance!

    When academic communities, supposed to be smartest people around, come up with such level of idiocy, I am losing my faith in mankind.
    Should I be a student, I would clap in the end of each and every class just to show how stupid that decision is.

      I`m in Scotland but had to laugh at this,these people have NOTHING BETTER TO DO,when in fact they should be learning something that may allow them to become usefull in life,not diversity training or gender studies,or all the other "qualifications"that guarantee a job flipping burgers....if they`re lucky.

    HOW does clapping cause anxiety?

    • @azgarogly
      @azgarogly 6 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      I guess, some people with mental issues can be triggered by sharp sounds.
      But in my opinion, the solution is to medicate that people properly, not banning sharp sounds.

    • @BadDriversOz
      @BadDriversOz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      BOTH shit ideas! I think it's more subtle than that! People get disappointed if NOT applauded so better to ban it so good and not so good get the SAME reaction! THAT is more the psychological angle that they're aiming at!

      Because the little snowflakes were being slapped silly for being the snowflakes they are, with clapping being like a double handed reminder of being slapped. Unfortunately jaz hands is also a double handed reminder that the hand is up and ready to slap. The only solution is remove hands from society. We must all wear shoes on our hands to disguise them as feet.

    I'm offended because "jazz hands" is a clear example of cultural appropriation. On a serious note though... those 3 or 4 autistic ones that find even ƃuᴉʞɔnɟ *_CLAPPING_* annoying really shouldn't impose such rules on the vast majority, it's beyond ridiculous.

    I have autism myself and attended a special needs school which clapped in assemblies and jazz hands were never even mentioned at the school. I hate this concept because it makes autistic people look even more emotionally sensitive than they really are.

    I have no hands following an accident with a chainsaw.
    (My son was demonstrating how Anakin cut off Count Dooku's hands with a light sabre using that reverse-handed counter-thrust....thing. Unfortunately he was using a working chainsaw to demonstrate)
    Jazz hands are a blatant mockery of people with no hands.
    I feel threatened and victimized.
    I find it triggering, and a spiteful reminder that people with hands are mocking my handless status.
    ...And I hate Star Wars.

    failing or troubled society's often engage in increasingly esoteric performances of morality as the performance distracts from the lack of meaningful progress. We cannot or will not provide adequate practical support for the vulnrable in our society ergo jazz hands so we get to pretend we're good people. I suppose we should be grateful we've moved on from burning women because the crops failed

    • @Patbwoy
      @Patbwoy 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah but that's not because someone has decided that everyone has to do it that way in order not to disturb a certain groupf of people, it's just another random social norm that became common in certain circles for no obvious reason.

  • @MrVidification
    @MrVidification ปีที่แล้ว

    If removing applause and laughter expands to TV that'll be a good thing, exposing so many terrible comedies, stand up and late night shows. Adding a pre recorded jazz hand clip every 5 seconds might be funny and save some shows though. lol
