Fsd still uses version 11 on highways. 12 is only for city’s streets at the moment.

What's interesting is how much the car is throttling on the charge stops. Completely different charging curve from my older and seemingly way faster charging 2019 M3P.

Really? That is interesting! I didn't think the performance was that bad!

if no one else asks, curious why you drove with wheel cover on front wheels but not rear?

HAHAHAHA. Great question! My brother bought covers. On the way to pick me up from the airport he hit a pot hole. Tire is ok, but he lost the wheel cover. He only had time to throw the one old one on. Then we never put the other three back on.
      You have a good eye!

The Tesla nag fest would drive me NUTS! Add the stripping out the controls makes the refresh a hard pass for me. The regulatory environment forcing more lock outs, nagging makes the features useless to me and it appears they have pushed out those updates to the existing cars. That M3 is pretty efficient and I wish more EV's had this level of efficiency focus so that we have more options in the EV market.
I personally prefer to be able to drive 2-3 hours a shot between stops when I am trying to cover distance on road trips. My current EV has me doing the 100-120 mile hops which I feel is nice and leisurely, but there are times when I am not being leisurely on these trips so it becomes an issue. The charging curve really impedes being able to get the charge needed to cover that extra distance between stops. Faster charging higher up in the pack really is needed so that you can get enough electrons to be able to do longer runs between stops. I know people say we don't need longer range cars, but I think we see how longer range plus better charging curve higher in the pack really is important if you are road tripping.
The Tesla charging network is the real asset here. Thankfully that is opening up to other EV's. I think that is the real success portion to your trip. Knowing you can drive and use the full capability of your car and know that when you pull in to get a charge sucking electrons that the chargers will be working. Thanks for sharing your trip!
