Just, wow! The fact that you could end up in someone's living room in places was amazing! I lol'd in a couple of places out of excitement. Great video!
Even after the shoutout in the recent video this content is still so under appreciated. I wish this got more views so you would be encouraged to make more like this, this was such a good video, glad I rewatched it!!
+Speed Academy OMG yes, piggyback to RyMann88's comments - super impressive driving and hands down amazing job beginning to end. This film came out gorgeous (phenomenal job Daniel Olivares) in capturing the overall summary of the whole experience. I'm sure there were tons of behind the scene obstacles you both faced too that wasn't in this film. Man though, footage of Peter's face while hauling a$$ @ 11/10ths on beautiful, super narrow, and winding roads speaks for itself. Looked like he (and likely Dave too) had the time of their lives! Fantastic job Dave and Pete! I'm a big fan of the channel, and just you two in general. You both obviously know what you're doing. Each of your extensive experience shows with how long you've both been in the industry, and most of all, you both are just completely humble and super insightful. Not only do you both know your sh!t, and do the majority of most of your work, but can also both drive! Thank you both for sharing the passion and putting in the extensive time and resources into posting these videos. As an aspiring videographer (who has also loved cars since a kid), I know it takes tons of work even if you both are keeping post-production to a minimal on the weekly Vlogs. As a sure thing, the upgrades, time behind the scenes, and costs incurred isn't free. Wish you both tons of success and continued joy as I know the internet can be full of negative Nancys. When that happens, try to remember the rest of us who got nothing but respect and support for you both. Best regards guys - hopefully we'll one day cross paths. #Top2FavoriteCanucks = David Pratt + Peter Tarach
This just goes to show that the FRS/BRZ are not slow cars at all (once properly set up of course)... Yes they are not 1/4 miles muscle cars... but nothing is nearly as fun as a tight technical course like the one in this video... how exciting!!!
Hi all. We have reuploaded this video because we accidentally left some sponsors off the list at the end and needed to correct that. Sorry for the confusion.
Holy crap guys I loved this video! This is such an epic story, if the views don't go up after your call out in the last video you really should re post it so that it's seem by more of your viewers. Definitely deserves more views.
Thanks! The JDL Auto Design equal-length header really gave it that sound, along with the HKS single-exit exhaust. The wing is from a Japanese company called Zele. We wanted something a little different from the average race wing and we think this wing suited the look of the car quite nicely.
While jonesin for more Ontario 1500 videos I decided to go back and look at some of your older stuff. I am so glad I did! You guys have been putting it down for a while now. Well done!
Lost counts how many time I have watched this clip, missing the old days when SA was doing these competitive events. I really enjoyed watching. I understand from a content creator's point of view, build videos probably draw most views and whatnot, but man I do love watching them driving hard, testing their limits on the edge. There is that perspective that you just don't get from watching build videos even though they are entertaining as well.
We get the same feeling watching this video. Maybe when we have enough subs and revenue then we can get back to some of this content but right now we need to pay the bills and feed the fams and this content isnt popular enough to get good views.
I can say wow, just discovered you guys and so far watched this and the s2k builds. I am extremely impressed. one of the best car pages on yt hands down. why arent you guys blown up with views and subs? you totally deserve more! keep the work up!
Holy crap boys! So glad that I came across an E46 M3 sales ad mentioning about the car being a past winner in the Newfoundland Targa and then coming across this video on a TH-cam search about Newfoundland Targa. That's some serious driving from one of my favourite GTA car youtuber
Awesome, thanks for turning me on to this event, never heard of it before. Nice save at 6:43 and that final turn. Love the camera footage, nice job and congratulations on third, go FR-S.
This is so cool! Especially to see the joy on your faces as you took 3rd place! I can’t believe I hadn’t viewed this video previously! I think you need to refresh this type of content on a vintage or best of playlist because as a regular viewer I seem to miss a lot! Love everything you do guys! Keep it up 👍🏼
Congratulations on 3rd place guys! It's been awesome viewing your videos on the build to finally this beautiful masterpiece. Goodluck on future events!
Yes! Bucket list for sure. I picked up a 2013 FRS in November and once I catch up on the damn photo radar tickets 18" wheels and new rubber are a must for spring...because I drive fast in the Rockies. I love drifting in the city, and especially getting back behind a RWD for the winter. Watched some of the build video and all the advice is great as a new owner. One day...the Targa NFL. Cheers!
+Matthew Fisher Thanks for the opinion column. I haven't had an accident in traffic ever (in 30 years of driving) or a speeding ticket from an officer here in 14 years Matthew. I also lived in BC for 15 years of the last 20 driving the sea to sky and the Duffy Pass often and they have no photo tickets. In Alberta we get tickets in the mail for speed, stop lights, you name it. Are you saying you never go over the speed limit in your car? Not even 10km in a 50km zone? You only drive your car at speed on track? Do you have any accidents? I call BS. We all drive our cars and make choices about safety. My record speaks for itself. I prefer rally roads and dead end highways here and drive within my limits. I've driven in countries and states where common sense is the law there are far fewer accidents...go tell everyone in Germany to go to the track. I drone drive with a stop watch and I don't drive a Porsche engineered to not lose grip until you are out of control. Thanks dad!
One of the best on board camera views of targa NL.Me and my brother watch you guys in St Bernards(My brother asked you guys about the oil temps in the FRS when racing).Next year we plan to install the Subaru oil cooler kit for his FRS.Many thanks.
Seeing this makes me want to head out to one of the stages for the next event so I can see all the various cars competing, this looks wicked from the driver perspective
Hair was on end watching that last stage, man, you gotta have faith in a lotta things:Driver, co-driver, equipment, to try to go fast in some of those spots. kudos for sure.
We were also blown away by how well the JDL header fit, just goes to show that you pay for what you get. As for next year, odds are we won't be back since we have something else planned for the FR-S but it's going to be equally as exciting!
Ahhh it's sad coming back to this after you parted out the frs I know the build videos are doing better for your channel right now, but when the new gr86 comes out I wish you'd do another series like this
I didn't know Canada had something like this......kind of like our own little Isle of man TT except with cars! Wonder how hard it is to drive this event......would be crazy fun.
Great Video. Since first seeing it on speedhunters i have started following your site keep up the good work. maybe bring the scion down to AUS for Targa Tassie!
Damn now that's one hell of a course, I think this looks even more intense than the isle of man TT (not saying the Isle of man is easy lol) The roads are just wide enough for a car to fit, and i looked like it was all through neighborhoods. Definitely need a good suspension for those roads
This is freaking AWSOME you guys got to do this, Ive always wanted to build a car to Rally with man. Awsome Awsome Awsome!!! And all those little streets, close to houses....You guys Rock man! I really wanna do this one day.. . seriously! Now was your guys FRS TurboCharged at all or Do yall have any kind of major engine work done to the car??? I mean the car looked fast enough for racing through so many turns. Man I love this channel! this video got me really hype....I wanna build a car NOOWWW!!! LOL
I was looking for s2000, but they are just way too pricy. GT86 or 350z are in my budget, wich would be better for street/track tuning? Thanks for ideas.
Could you do a video on what it takes to participate in Targa Newfoundland? We saw you build the car but what about being in the race. I have been very interested in driving this race myself
They worked very well, but we did lower the springs rates by 1kg/mm front and rear. The dampers took a pounding all week and showed no signs of wear and tear. In fact, we ran on these exact same dampers the following year during the Ontario-1500. If you watch our video series on that 7-day event, you'll see the KW's continued to work well for us.
Glad you linked this in your newest video, it was awesome!
Thanks for reminding people of this video for those newer followers. Awesome cinematography!
I had zero clue you guys made this kind of content back then. Please bring more of this back to CAN and US. This is the real deal.
Yea me neither I was like since when did they do rallies
Just, wow! The fact that you could end up in someone's living room in places was amazing! I lol'd in a couple of places out of excitement. Great video!
The segment through the houses was intense!
I don't even know what the after math of taking out someone's house would be
@@leotam3372 there’s a video from this event. Search it.
DAMN!!! You need to...MUST... do more of this and a longer vids too!!!! This is by far your best video i have seen in about 3 years of following you!!
Even after the shoutout in the recent video this content is still so under appreciated. I wish this got more views so you would be encouraged to make more like this, this was such a good video, glad I rewatched it!!
My first time seeing it was today, Super happy it came up in my feed.
Rewatching this again 2 years later and seeing my own comment. This video is still under 100k views? I must be like 10 of the views now alone...
That huge recovery and split second reaction time at 6:45 was epic as hell. Super impressed with you guys.
+RyMann88 Thank you! We had a lot of close calls but kept it on the road... thankfully.
+Speed Academy OMG yes, piggyback to RyMann88's comments - super impressive driving and hands down amazing job beginning to end.

How did I miss this. Loved the feel and style of this video.
Hi all. We have reuploaded this video because we accidentally left some sponsors off the list at the end and needed to correct that. Sorry for the confusion.
Please do a video on the RX-7 you guys have in the shop. I need that in my life!
Thanks
Holy crap guys I loved this video! This is such an epic story, if the views don't go up after your call out in the last video you really should re post it so that it's seem by more of your viewers. Definitely deserves more views.
Gosh what a sound! I love the 86.
+Ronan Rocha We quite like it too. :)
i remember watching this when it first came out. great series!
Woah I didn't know you guys had been making videos for so long! This was sick
I'm disappointed in myself for just now seeing this video! Amazing 🔥
Even though the FR-S is dead and gone...PLEASE do this again. SO DAMN EPIC
Came to this video after seeing the part out. So glad I got a chance to check this out.
I was in the Marysvale stage and I really gotta say that frs sounds extremely good and that wing really fits the car
Thanks! The JDL Auto Design equal-length header really gave it that sound, along with the HKS single-exit exhaust. The wing is from a Japanese company called Zele. We wanted something a little different from the average race wing and we think this wing suited the look of the car quite nicely.

Holy shit this is amazing, need more events/videos like this from you guys!
Finally ! a show where there's no music and actually let you listen to the car !
That's so awesome that you guys had the chance to do that rally
I can say wow, just discovered you guys and so far watched this and the s2k builds. I am extremely impressed. one of the best car pages on yt hands down. why arent you guys blown up with views and subs? you totally deserve more! keep the work up!

Oh and please put Daniel Olivares info in the bio! Such an incredible job producing the film with epic camera angles.
I always come back to this video, one of my faves
That's badass! I didn't even know I had a bucket list, but now this is at the top!
Awesome, thanks for turning me on to this event, never heard of it before. Nice save at 6:43 and that final turn. Love the camera footage, nice job and congratulations on third, go FR-S.
ISOTROPOSPHERE Thanks! This event isn't promoted enough and yet it's one of the greatest motorsports events we've ever done.

My fav episode from these guys
Wow what a video
Just started watching your newer videos. This scion is unreal
Your series of videos truly inspire. I will be using your build as a great example as I start my own build.
Congrats! You guys deserve it. Watch your videos over and over again and they're never get old.
this is truly living the dream
Wow, that is a dream. That looks like SO much fun!!!
+LD9user It certainly was AMAZING for us.
As a new subscriber what a gem to find buried in your channel.
Great content, this deserves more views!
That shoutout must have done something, because TH-cam keeps telling me I need to rewatch this.
Congratulations on 3rd place guys! It's been awesome viewing your videos on the build to finally this beautiful masterpiece. Goodluck on future events!
Thanks Stevie! We've got plans for some more racing in the FR-S next year so be sure to keep an eye out for some more build videos come spring.

This was absolutely epic! Damn PT can wheel
I live in Newfoundland and I have all my life and the one thing I wish is that is there were more races or racetracks to go to
Those tiny streets in the final stage were ridiculous. I can't believe that town put their beautiful white picket fences on the line for this event!
One of the best on board camera views of targa NL.Me and my brother watch you guys in St Bernards(My brother asked you guys about the oil temps in the FRS when racing).Next year we plan to install the Subaru oil cooler kit for his FRS.Many thanks.
Yes Jack, I remember talking to your brother about the oil cooler. It's a great upgrade and the Perrin one we installed worked with zero issues.
Very Good story telling and Amazing Driving! you boys can Drive!!! and build cars!
Here because they mentioned this in the new video about the FRS!
Seeing this makes me want to head out to one of the stages for the next event so I can see all the various cars competing, this looks wicked from the driver perspective
If you get a chance you should totally check it out even as a spectator!
I definitely will when I get the chance, some of the stages are only an hour or so away
Wow what a course! Real ass clencher!
I'm planning on doing it next year! Been watching it ever since I was just a lad (lol), and now mega excited to be even thinking about racing in it!!!
You'll have the best motorsports experience ever! We certainly did.
For sure! I can't wait. Really hope I can get some good sponsors, because otherwise I won't be able to afford it :{ which really sucks
Awesome video! Great driving too, really makes an NA FRS look pretty good.
I loved the in cabin view of your run!
Thanks!
Are you going to be doing any more FR-S videos? :(
living the dream guys and its making me so very jealous!
Love the car, turned out so good.
Hey I think you guys ran a stop sign! Awesome video ;)
Awesome video glad i went back to see it
6:43 good save
Hair was on end watching that last stage, man, you gotta have faith in a lotta things:Driver, co-driver, equipment, to try to go fast in some of those spots. kudos for sure.
It was a tough yet amazing experience! The scariest thing is being a co-driver haha
i got the JDL UEL for my frs here in NL love the fit and finish of their products! hope too see you guys back next year!
We were also blown away by how well the JDL header fit, just goes to show that you pay for what you get. As for next year, odds are we won't be back since we have something else planned for the FR-S but it's going to be equally as exciting!
Great video. Really want to shoot and drive this event soon
Ahhh it's sad coming back to this after you parted out the frs
I know the build videos are doing better for your channel right now, but when the new gr86 comes out I wish you'd do another series like this
That bit at 6:43 was absolutely crazy
I only started watching you guys this year, but damn, this video is awesome and brings everything in perspective
Keep it up !
And now this car is no longer with them huhuhuhu, wish I was a fan sooner
Please make more videos like this!
nicely done guys...
Anazing video but what a terrifying last stage to watch thinking about sliding a car into someone's house lol. Great job!
man u guys r kicking ass good job
Nice one guys!
I didn't know Canada had something like this......kind of like our own little Isle of man TT except with cars!
Wonder how hard it is to drive this event......would be crazy fun.
I want to see the 100K special. Pete and DP need to disable gravity and get in a couple of good DP sessions.
Great Video. Since first seeing it on speedhunters i have started following your site keep up the good work. maybe bring the scion down to AUS for Targa Tassie!
really well done.
i lived in newfoundland for 8 years and how have i never heard of this
Beautiful !
Bring back this! Show off more of your driving skills!
Great video!
Nice work! This car looks good, and rides fast! Best wishes from Russia)
hi!
awesome video quality. can you tell me how did you get to the "movie" effect for the video? is it CineForm from gopro?
Huge rocks all over that road
frs loko Rocks and potholes the size of small cars haha. It was a rough ride to say the least.
@@speedacademy how did you suepension and wheels/tires hold up? go through any extras?
I been doing targa for a few years now I live in Newfoundland some it's easy to get to
You're a lucky man!!
Mini Cooper yes man it's some Jesus fun watchin' it. Buddy some of the cars are fuckin nuts!
Great video thanks
such a great video!
Nice video!

Thanks!!!
amazing !!!! love it
The amount of gravel on some of the stages...damn

would it be possible for you to upload raw video from each stage? it would be interesting to watch
+Touge Runner It would take WAY too long to do but we uploaded a bunch of clips that you can find in the other videos.
Gorgeous footage! What camera did you use inside the car?
awsome dude you guys are the best
Thanks!
i think you should turbo it
Just. Wow.
This is a great video guys. So sad to see it go. Wish i discovered you through this video but it was the ass2000 that got me so not all bad =)
Look at the boys looking so young
Id love to do this. Great video thanks for sharing!
opening song?
I was looking for s2000, but they are just way too pricy. GT86 or 350z are in my budget, wich would be better for street/track tuning?
Thanks for ideas.
I would love to do something like this. Currently, I am nowhere near the skill level to do it at any decent rate.
Guys, what exhaust/header combo are you running? Looking to drop more weight with a single exhaust vs dual.
Could you do a video on what it takes to participate in Targa Newfoundland? We saw you build the car but what about being in the race. I have been very interested in driving this race myself
Very nice video and editing. What did you think about the performance of KW CS on such rough roads?
They worked very well, but we did lower the springs rates by 1kg/mm front and rear. The dampers took a pounding all week and showed no signs of wear and tear. In fact, we ran on these exact same dampers the following year during the Ontario-1500. If you watch our video series on that 7-day event, you'll see the KW's continued to work well for us.
5/6KG sounds gd for street use. afaik, KW CS have 1kg higher spring rate at rear. Does it make the car more sensitive or oversteery?
