Fibreglass the katana. It would make it ridiculously strong as well.

Not sure what i was watching this for but i liked it, if only i could have made my katana`s like this i could have saved thousands of $$, one thing, could you do two tutorials, one on the Tsuka wrap and the other on the Saya knot, i have seen many videos but they go so fast, and as an old boy it takes me some time to catch up...

I think Kosaku Yoshi 工作用紙 (which translate to Work/Craft Paper) is called Card Stock (カードストック) in English! The heaviest/thickest Card Stock "cover weight" (thickness) I've seen is 110lbs or 130lbs.

Thank you for the tutorial! Is there something to replace the Zoukei be-su with? And do you also do commissions?
You can substitute wood glue, Acrylic paint under coat( Gesso, Gel mediumu etc) for it.

In where i live,they use aluminum tape for the blade so it appears more 'blade'like
If you would not include the stick inside, would the 'cutting part' of the blade remain flexible, or would it just end up breaking off? I'm trying to make a whip style sword, but I've never made a prop before so I'm at a bit of a loss haha. Maybe I should use a joga mat instead? Does anyone have any tips?
Edit:I also considered slap bracelet material, but I doubt I'd be able to paint that properly, and it would not end up curved but fully straight or fully rolled up.
I have ever made some whip swords.
