One thing i can't believe is that the trend is big 6 seater suv's and people actually choose big suv's over a minivan. Minivans are at least 7 seats and have a great trunk while SUVs are tighter and have a tiny trunk.

Really don’t like how the engine just holds at a certain RPM. Probably a CVT thing but I wish it simulated shifts
The "transmission" is a dual-motor planetary gear set, not a belt and pulley CVT. It can simulate a 6-speed using the manual mode.

It doesn’t help that you drove it like Smokey and the Bandit! You did a disservice to how great that powertrain really is.
A truly great powertrain can perform well under ANY driving conditions. If spirited driving shows it to be a turd, then a turd it is.
Newer cars are so throaty. I never hear the engine inside my 2002 Dodge Intrepid with the 2.7 anymore. Since I fixed the exhaust it's pitch quiet. It's to quite. I wouldn't mind some acceleration noise.
Bruh I thought the car seats were trippin'. I thought to myself that Toyota need to fix their faulty malfunction. Turns out there was a hidden tool. Haha
The real winner in this is the Honda Odyssey
Love how quiet the Hybrid is but then again the Honda V6 just screams hard to pick. Only thing I don't like is the Chrome wheel caps at first I thought they were all one until the tech at my dealership told me you can take them off.
The Honda will need a new transmission by 150k. They all do. Too much power and too heavy for a FWD trans to handle. The Sienna's eCVT will last forever.

One of my friends have a 2022 Toyota Sienna Hybrid.
My dad have a 2023 Toyota Sienna Hybrid
The kids are all grown up. Our Sienna use case is hauling cargo and also camping (sleeping in the back of the van), and working on the road nomad style. We were extremely disappointed to learn that the middle row of seats were not designed (in 2021 and 2022 models) to, and cannot easily be, taken out. Apparently this is by design and ignores the whole 'haul stuff' and 'sleep in the back of the van' nomad lifestyles that we were hoping to do. It is a huge disappointment and might be a deal breaker.
While it sucks not being able to take them out entirely, they move up really close to the back of the front seats to leave a lot of space in the back

This 2nd row no removal is the single biggest barrier to purchasing a new one. The second is I would prefer a plug in. The 3rd is the removal of the bluray player (free movies at the library and the kids pick out a bunch for road trips).I love that we get seasons of classic shows..they love Dennis the menace and lassie etc..
If I could fix those 3 things, then take my $55,000!! Rav4prime drivetrain please with a bluray and 2nd row...I know they won't go back though unfortunately. So may go, ugh... Chrysler next.
@@michaelrogers2136 yeah I can see why it wouldn't fit your use case. I'm willing to bet in a few years there will be a plug in version (that would be the only nitpick I have as well).
As for the Bluray player, that's the one thing you could fix in this model since it has a full outlet and HDMI port in the center console under the monitor. We have a firestick (and the built in LTE) and a Nintendo Switch back there for the kids.

@@michaelrogers2136 Well put! Agree. The fact that we cannot take out the second row of seats from the back (we have NO use for them) is the single biggest barrier to us not purchasing a Sienna. We have been Toyota loyal since 1994 (!) - We are looking for non-Toyota vehicles now.

@@thendino1Buy this, more mpg and more reliable, Honda Odysseys have transmission issues and an outdated engine, I would maybe recommend a kia carnival if you want more of an suv looking minivan and more luxury, also cheaper :)
No don’t listen to them Honda Odysseys is slow and my dad have a 2023 Toyota Sienna XSE FWD
Now imagine explaining to every single passenger, how the seats move, what to pull and where to push to get in the third row or adjust the second row... The driver has to do it all by himself every time and that's a huge discomfort
not really, i was actually a passenger in one recently. first time in it. took 10 seconds to figure it out. it really isnt as hard as he made it look...
@@silversonic99 That's easy for car guys, but imagine if your passengers are older people who are not so technical, or kids... The easiest seat management is in Acura MDX. "You see a button with the seat on it? Press it", that's all you need

Slow speed pick up, engine roar(without much speed gain), and excessive rpm ex. 7:16 and freeway entries,. What's wrong with the transmission?
The "transmission" is basically an electric motor and an electric generator connected by a planetary gear set. The engine has to rev high during acceleration, it's generating a lot of electricity for the motor.

lol where is the "spirited driving"? my literally grandma drove more aggressive than that. The 05 was peppy for it's size, I was hoping to actually see some more aggressive driving here :/

Those seats killed any interest I had for the vehicle. Sure it only took him a few minutes, but that could turn into 10+ minutes of frustration for the average buyer. The fact the seats have to move in such a weird way I'd a deal breaker
I haven't moved the seats in my van even once since I bought it three years ago. Can't think of anything less important.

Это не тахометр, что то вроде индикатора мощности. Коробка - вариатор. На батареях только по парковке ездить

@@MattCC16Gaming the interior isn’t even best in class. That goes to the Pacifica and carnival. The interior space is also lagging. So is cargo practicality. The last gen model had class leading cargo space vs the others. Now it’s middle to below average. The second row seats don’t even come out anymore like before. Also The tech like the infotainment (even though I love Toyotas system) and the gauge cluster isn’t great vs the Pacifica or carnival. Plus unlike the Kia carnival Theres no cool factor
The hybrid system though is what’s great about it
