We love visiting Holmes County, Ohio.
We've visited several times now & always enjoy our time there.
This time around, we celebrated our 33rd anniversary!
It's the perfect mix of relaxation and visiting all the places we've come to love through the years.
The landscape of the rolling hills, beautiful flowers & gardens, observing the Amish way of life all adds up to a great place to get away.
There are plenty of good places to shop, get a good cup of coffee, and eat a wonderful meal.

@@melissamclaughlin4383 aw 💛well thank you, Melissa! We had such a good time and it’s nice to have these memories to look back on! Have a great week!
We live about 30 minutes from there. Yes, food is delicious! Also my husbands family is from that area. Walnut Creek. We are Hershbergers. His family were Mennonite. Love buying our fresh eggs, cheese and furniture from that area. I’m glad you enjoy it!
You are quite blessed to live close to such a wonderful area full of good things!
We live in Pittsburgh and just really enjoy going to Ohio's Amish country. We were there mid December - it was so beautiful with everything all decorated for the holidays. Our hotel was gorgeous - Christmas trees everywhere. Unlike hotels in other places - people actually sit around in the lobbies and socialize which we greatly enjoyed. They came around with offers of coffee & cookies. We usually go over there once in the summer to enjoy the farm fresh foods and once close to Christmas to shop for Christmas gifts and I love love love to go to the quilt shops in Charm, Ohio.I usually have a list of stuff I need to get for winter sewing projects.I also find nice gifts there. My husband enjoys going to Kiels Lumber as well. Our friends bought a beautiful piece of raw edge oak to make a tableWe just barely got in into the car to take home. We also enjoy Werthers ( I would not bet my life I spelled this correctly)knife store and museum in Dover, Ohio. The original owner did amazing woodcarvings and the museum is a must see.
What a great comment! Thank you for all the info! Sounds like your trip was wonderful, especially at Christmas time. The visiting in the hotel sounds nice too. We will have to check out the lumber and knife store!
The ladies in the red hats and purple outfits are members of the Red Hat Society. If this video was taken in around the middle of July, the Red Hat group you saw at the Ashery is from Willoughby OH . We were on a day long trip to Holmes County. We also love Holmes County.
@@ellenfallon6883 okay 😀😀 they were having a really fun time, you could tell!
That is truly a beautiful area. I enjoy going anytime I can. The steaks at East Main are amazing.
We agree!
Hey Angie,Happy Anniversary,The Amish totally despise their pictures taken,we live around 25 minutes from quite a few of them which is where i'm from!
@@berthabyrd6898 thank you ☺️ you are not too far then from some Amish grocery stores
@@ifthecreekdontrise There is an amish bakery in Jackson,Ohio,It's called (4 Mile Bakery) I've never been there but some family has and they sell donuts that are very huge, they are about 45 minutes from us but can't go because where i'm paralyzed chest down i don't have a wheelchair accessible van.
Yes I'm from Ohio and don't live far from the Amish and out of respect for their beliefs, I've never took a picture without asking, nor would I put it on social media (especially young children)
Happy Anniversary and what a fun and beautiful video. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much!
Thank you so much!😊
Great video. It is so fascinating to me to learn about the Amish.
@@andrealongobardi2757 thank you!
Happy anniversary! Looks like yall had a great one!
Thank you! We really did!
Thank you for sharing! I've never been to Amish Country. The fresh produce was beautiful
We love it! And yes, so much great produce!
Amish country is an awesome place to visit. Been going for over 15 years now. But we find new places all the time. My sister has even thoughta out making planned packages and planned days and sell them to people.
@@nateloish3309 it’s such a great relaxing getaway 🙂
Thanks for sharing have a blessed day 🙏
Appreciate your comment!
Happy anniversary.....loved this area.
@@kathyh7826 thank you 😀
Happy anniversary and many more. ❤❤❤❤❤
@@kathybrooks4270 thank you 😍
Really enjoyed your video. My husband and I travelled there numerous times. We are both physically unable to visit there anymore. My hubby loved Mrs. Yoder’s. We stayed at many different places in our travels there. I was amazed from your video as to how large both Hershberger’s and the Ashery had grown. I don’t think there’s a prettier place on earth. Am going to look for your other Amish videos. Susan from western Pa.
@@Susanjoc hello Susan & thank you for this comment! I’m glad you were able to see some of the places you’ve enjoyed visiting through the years! I agree that it’s just absolutely beautiful there! Again, thank you for watching & for your comment! 🤎
Angie thanks for sharing this with us 👍❤️👍❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely! Thanks for watching!
Hi Angie, Amish country is on my bucket list for sooner than later. Loved being there through you. I thought it was interesting that the lady with the horse and buggy, her little kids were bare foot, but she wasn't. Hum? The food looks so good. Tks. Karla in Cali.
I hope you get there soon! You're right. We do often see barefoot kiddos but not adults, now that you mentioned it. Each Amish community that we've visited has it's own vibe. Holmes County is overall very beautiful and manicured. Love that part about it.
Mrs yoders is my favorite!!! Best chicken i worked at a amish restaurant for 13 yrs its the Best!! I take anyone that visits there!
My old boss from restaurant is head chef at east main!!
Next time try Chrysalis cafe!! In Berlin
@@pinkrevenge3747 yes! Their chicken is the best!
@@pinkrevenge3747 oh wow! Ok! Thanks for the recommendation!
We love the Amish country in Ohio. We have been going there for 16 yrs. Have you been to snoopers antique s and more in Berlin Ohio? The building looks small but once you are inside it is quite big. Great prices and a wide variety of items
@@tinawaggoner1031 I looked it up to see if we’ve been to it and I am pretty sure we have not! That’ll be someplace we can hit up the next time! Thank you for telling me about it!
@@ifthecreekdontrise your welcome it opened in 2022
Happy Anniversary!!! Glad you could come to Berlin, Ohio!!! I'm from 30-40 minutes away a little city called Wooster!!! Just to let you know that the Amish do not wish to have their pictures taken- it's part of their customs! You should really abide by their wishes when in Amish country!
I am Brethren (a couple steps above Mennonite). The Amish are ok w/pics as long as their faces aren't shown. They are very helpful as long as a man speaks to a man. Mennonite are a little more tolerant but I always have my husband ask questions I have. Works well!
@@tamarakosusnik2090 thank you for the anniversary wish ☺️
@@pamguyton4597 thanks for your comment ☺️
I'm from this area as well. Please respect the Amish and do not take their photo. You wouldn't want your children's picture on the internet. This is their home, not your circus.
Happy Anniversary, congrats on 33yrs.
@@stephanierhodes5639 Thank you
for the anniversary wish. Nothing about my video (or my heart) would indicate I think of this part of Ohio as my circus.

Do yourself a favor and order the prime rib off the menu at Mrs. yoders. It is the best prime rib I have ever had.
@@ReviewOutdoors ohhh that sounds delish! I don’t think we even knew they served it!
@ the last time we were there we stayed at the Sleep Inn in Mt Hope just up the road from Mrs Yoders. We ate dinner there every night and every night I got the prime rib. It was melt in your mouth delicious. I would definitely recommend ordering off the menu rather than the buffet. And of course the pie, you have to eat the pie!
AutoZone Reading Ohio . How far away is homes is it up there by the drag racing strip.
I'm sorry but I don't know
