Did you know there is a festival next week on Monday 29th June/15 Ashod called "Yogurt and beaten rice eating day" (Dahi Chiura khane din) or "Ropain", or National Paddy Day celebrating the end of the rice planting time. If you can get out into the countryside you could get some great footage of the farmers and farm workers celebrating in the muddy rice paddy's and if you join in, wear casual clothing as everyone is generally covered from head to toe is mud! You may also get to eat beaten rice with yoghurt and drink some Chyang - fermented rice wine. By the way, What's the name of the restaurant? They were so professional in there. The very innovative Nepali-style "plug" on the wall behind you at 12:24 bought back memories of my first hotel room in Kathmandu in Thamel in 1982 - the plug for the fan in my room was the same 😊 Nice to see some things don't change 😄 Jai Nepal

Although we move along with development, Aafno vasa ra saskritilai jogai rakhnu parxa. Kathmandu valley is the inhabitants of the Newar people. But who are the Newar people? Well, it is now known that the section of Newar people especially belonging to the Jyapu community is Kirat. In short, we have to break the Newar communities to understand this. Among the Newar communities - Jyapu (Maharjan, Dangol, Singh, Suwal, Prajapati, Tandukar, Byanjankar, etc.), Gopali, Balami = Kirat Shakya/Vajracharya = Koliyas/Shakyas + Vedic Aryans Rajopadhyaya = Kanyakubjia Brahmins (Vedic Aryans) Chathariya (Malla, Pradhan, Rajbhandari, Joshi, Karmacharya, etc.) = Maithil Karnat Kshatriya + Mallas + Vrijji (Lichchavi) + Rajputs (Mix of non-Vedic Aryans) Pachathariya (Shresthas) = Vrijji (Lichchavi) + Vaisya Thakuris + some Kirat (Mix of non-Vedic Aryan and some Kirat) Uray (Tuladhar, Shilpakar, Bania, Tamrakar, etc.) = Vaisya Thakuri + Shakya/Vajracharya + Tibetans (due to their trading with Lhasa) Pode, Chyame, Kasai, Dhobi, Kapali, etc = Lower castes are a mix of Maithil (ethnic Aryan) + Kirat (Mongoloid), groups I hope that Newari who are descendants of Kirat celebrate Sakela/Sakewa festival from now on. Please realize your original identity because, without paichan and culture, we are nobody. We Kiratis have been separated for so long after the coming of Licchavis and the introduction of the caste system in Nepal by the Licchavi king. It is shameful today that we are known by the different ethnic groups because of the caste system imposed on Nepali society. We cannot afford to be divided by this evil caste system anymore. This caste system does not belong to our Kirat people. I hope all Kiratis unite as One family again. And as we move to the year of 2021 and onward, let's hope we see more Kiratis coming to political power in Nepal. Let's make Nepal a great country in Asia.
