I hunt the rain , not pouring toad stranglers but a soft to steady rain deer move the whole time. I use a tree umbrella or a ground blind to stay dry. Now I won't hunt if any lightening in the area.
Definitely agree with what you’re saying. last week I shot a decent buck I was watching and I hunted a patch of woods right above their bedding area when it was raining in the morning and it stopped for about 30 minutes and he walked into a little food plot I had In a thick patch of woods and I was able to put him down 👍
Boy oh Boy am I glad I found you. I hunt SE and SW Wisconsin as well. I feel like you are talking directly to me when you speak. Subscribed. Mike from Tosa
I definitely pick a blind with a roof if it's coming down out there but otherwise, I do have a piece of waterproof canvas in my gear that I can drape over the rifle and myself if need be.
Slicker cloth or a garbage bag Be aware of scents that may be off gassing. You can use wax paper or just hunker down over your bow or rifle and spread your coat out over it. It usually doesn’t rain continuously and if it is you really shouldn’t even be out there.
Scents may be washed away during the rain but are intensified after the rain. Even I can smell the forest scents better after the rain. I don't know if all those scents help cover my scent or intensify my scent. Maybe both.
I thought about using wramp around umbrella on tree and use something like seat to keep my butt dry to plus u got also play wind on rainy day were wind blows rain in direction as well .
Foggy lenses as well as kaleidoscopic vision. Of course the deer are out in it as they are every day. A blind & a paper towel makes it possible, though depending on intensity deer may certainly be hunkered down. A misty rain can allow quiet movement of both, but glasses are still a hinderence.
Great help.. learning hunter here. That blind setup with the metal fencing to help get in and out easily is awesome. 👍🏻🙏🏻

Any tips on keeping a rifle dry in a stand? It's hard to the rifle out of a bag without spooking the deer ? 🤷♂️
I usually just cover mine with my waxed jacket or a waterproofed piece of camo cloth/burlap👍

I have seen some decent deer mid day light rain
Chance of rain on opening day here, see if I can use your advice. 👍
Have fun!
Haven’t seen any rain but briefly twice since early June so this isn’t even an issue here in south MS. Drought map tells the story.
Makes tracking extremely hard
They make strap on umbrella's that do not screw into the trees also.
Nice! I've only ever seen the screw in ones.

We love hunting in a light rain. Deer are really on their feet then.
living in the Pacific Northwest we only don’t have a choice, hunting in the rain is the norm.
WTF
A rain event??
It's a fuckin thunderstorm!
Don't change shit that isn't necessarily!
Ummm I hunt rain
I see you are not wearing glasses....try that.
