@Thomas Lee-Warren So how is this a scam? Did you investigate it yourself? I don't believe you did.... and I don't believe this guy runs a scam. You are slandering people... not nice not nice....
Just starting over after so many years have passed. Lost my sax and jazz albums in a fire and have not picked up a sax since. But I ordered one last night and will be using your lessons to get back to what I loved years ago. Thank you!
I got my saxophone yesterday 20/5/2020 and I can tell you this is the BEST video for learning all the notes since in other videos there is not the diagram showing you what to press down unlike other videos where you have to look at their hands all the time. Would definitely recommend for beginners
Bro I am a true beginner and have been learning on you tube. I love your finger chart and I can't wit to try this. Your lessons are amazing. My cousin gave me his old 1932 Conn Transitional Tenor that I had reconditioned. The few that have played it said it is a beast. I can't wait to get going as I had lost interest because I couldn't see keys and what the hell was going on. Thanks for the great lesson. D.O in Denver
I have never played the sax or any other instrument before, but I finally got together and started playing and without this I would have remained completely lost, so thank you so much!
maaan...this is just priceless...this just givers saxophone a summery in its hidden notes.....am keli from kenya Nairobi and a psychology student Kenyatta university. been struggling with higher notes for only God knows how long till now...thanks tr.reall passionate about saxophone family instruments.
I agree with most everyone else: this is the best explanation for the chromatic scale on TH-cam. This is great. Thanks, man. As a beginner, this video's amazing.
I am a drummer originally but I have always admired the saxophone, so I have ordered my first ever sax and watching a couple of these videos has helped me gain the confidence to start learning. These videos are so straight forward and clear, thank you so much!
After getting my sax in the middle of covid year 2021, several months later, this is the first time I've heard my Sax play a correct tone. I'd been using other videos to learn to play and I could never get my instrument to match the key they were playing in the vid or to match the tuner app I have. Every time, I tried G, C, A and then quit, quite discouraged that none of them matched. Yesterday, I found your video on fingering. I figured if I can't get the notes to sound right, at least I could learn the fingering for practice. You started at the bottom, and I matched the fingering and blew. then the next and the next. I was paying so close attention to your clear instructions and well-illustrated chart that it wasn't until I played D->D# that I realized that the key my horn was playing matched yours, almost exactly. I went back to two other "beginner" videos and played what they said with their fingering, G C, A ,... FLAT! I came back to your vid, Low Notes... Perfect. Then I let your video take me all the way from Low to High and as soon as i got to F, it sounded a bit strange but still on key, and from F -> G that's when it was Flat again. Also it seems my Octave Key might not be working. I know I'm an absolute bottom rung beginner, but is it possible that instead of me being absolute shite, that something might be wrong with my horn that it can play the low notes but not the high notes or the Octave change? I bought it online, so it's not an expensive valuable brand name anything, but should I take it to a music store? Who can check something like that? I'm an adult, so I can't just waltz into a school and ask the music teacher. Any advice would be great. Oh, and your Video is awesome btw. It gave me new hope that I might be able to embrace this instrument as my own. I'm already able to play the first part of Overjoyed by Stevie Wonder, albeit, very poorly. LOL
Hi , By far this is THE only tutorial which taught me in the right way. Keep it up sir ! You have amazing teaching skills and I have no doubt that you will be one of the best 🎷 Players on the Planet. Best wishes from India. Thank you 🙌
Have't played sax in 15 years. Figured it would be easy to jump back into it because I play clarinet, but it was definitely difficult to get a sound out of it... until watching this video. Thanks so much!!!
THIS IS THE BEST! the way you explain the notes, how the play them, that it will be hard at first... all your lessons, i'm a handpan player/drummer, and always love the sax, try to learn how to play in my spare time over the years..but never worked out. Your way of teaching ,and that i can go back to your lesson at anytime on youtube work out great, I just downloaded i"inside your sax" and it help me fix something already!!!i will be buying your mega package soon, thanks
epic lesson thank you. is anyone else blow away by the engineering of this instrument? it's so clever! this must have taken so many calculations, trial and error and many years of highly skilled craftmanship to get to where the sax is today
Fabulous tutorial. I do not play nor own a sax (I play guitar, bass, keys and drums with varying degrees of ability) but I just started looking into the EWI and I feel like if I watch this it will help a lot when I inevitably impulse buy one
I bought a "C" Melody sax that was made in 1913, That is the instrument that i am teaching myself to play. That is a real beast. The good thing about this sax is I can use regular piano sheet music because my sax is in the key of C. There are very few CDs that showcase the C melody, so I am going to buy a new sax. I can't decide on Alto or Tenor. So I am exploring youtube. I will be checking out your lessons. You are a real help. Thanks.
@@HelloSaxophone I bought the sax on a Saturday. I fiddled with it over the weekend, and brought it in to work to show it off. My boss asked me what songs I could play and I said, "I don't know. I just got it 2 days ago." He suggested that I play Strangers in the Night. I played that song perfectly for him. Without practicing, I hit every note. Needless to say, he was amazed. He asked me if I had ever played an instrument before. I told him...no. He asked me if I could read music. I said...no. He told me that I was a natural and I need to practice because I would go far with the sax. Well, there are so few songs for the C melody. It's funny that my C melody from 1913 likes to play OLD SONGS. Dick Van Dyke theme. Little Rascals. Strangers in the Night. Auld Lang Syne. and some Christmas tunes. I want to buy a Tenor sax. Sooo sooo simple to understand, why does everyone else on youtube have to make this look complicated. Thank you! I'm an absolute beginner on sax after years of trying to learn the guitar but just never falling in love with it. I'm still squeaking and having a hard time playing the low notes in particular but I know It's possible. I absolutely love the way all the valves and levers work on the sax. It's like a Doctor Seuss creation haha. I can't wait to be able to write my own music. No constant tuning or messing with cords and amps or worrying about where I'll get electricity. Easy to throw in the car and go. I need a mute, though. I really just need a dedicated practice room that's well insulated so I don't drive my wife and pets crazy.
Good teaching, speed right, voice clear, an excellent teaching lesson. BTW, would you please check the fingering photo of the middle B Flate, looks wrongly show, it should press the lower side key i/o the higher one.

Great videos man! I play the guitar and other related string instruments and im having just a bit of trouble with my right hand, mostly the pinky, not used to manage those fingers to play but your videos have been helping me with my technique a lot thx!
Lots of practise to go before I get to the Chromatic scale...I'm still on the C Minor!! LOLOL VERY good instruction though...keeping it in my back pocket!!
this video helped me to start to play sax. made my own chart. thank you very much for soo much effort you put into this video. its great. I do not get the high tones out of my sax, yet but practis will sort it out too. thnaks.
Hey teacher you've taught me everything on the saxophone i really appreciate it where can i send you a donation for saying thankyou in the future Godbless you.
6:24 and 11:37, your key chart says both are the same button, while you point out the correct ones. I love the video absolutely appreciate the free lesson, but this confused the hell out of me and I couldnt figure out why I couldnt get the sound right. Again, thank you so much!
Man, im a true begginer but, i think that u used the wrong chart to the A# at 6:31. Excellent video by the way, u helped me a lot!!!!! Thumbs up from Brasil.
Great tutorial for me. I'm a beginner and it gives me the whole scale on my alto. I'm screen shooting the key patterns to print out and hang on the wall to follow as I practice. Thanks!
HI great :) Actually I do provide a print version of all the notes on a special sheet design with my startersguide also :) It's in high resolution and also very easy to print. Will save you a lot of time :) www.hellosaxophone.com/learntoplaysaxophone.html
This is just what I was looking for to teach myself to play. I'm trying to find as many of these videos as I can before I actually purchase. I'm looking at the Aerophone AE10 because the fingering is almost the same as sax. It would be great if you would consider doing tutorials on this instrument in the future if you haven't already. I just subscribed so I haven't yet checked out all your videos on your channel.
Well explained and very helpful, Unfortunately I wear hearing aids which affect some of the pitches I hear so I ejther take one aid out or try to get used to the slightly adjusted pitch. !!! I find tonic sol fa is a great help too. Thanks Nigel. inspring teaching. Melvyn
Thank you sooo much for this....every time during band my friends tell me to play all the notes on the sax...(I say I am a genius at sax)... so next practice will actually play all the notes and they will be like wwaaaa!
Hi I understand there are three levels of sax beginner intermediate and pro where your at I am in between beginner and intermediate I have only been playing almost a year could not play for about two months due to work . Picking it up again and I practice now everyday for an hour or more depends on my neighbor I don't want to bother him. Watching your video is very helpful but when it squeaks after playing for a while I change reeds and clean the sax totally and put back together and it still squeaks but your explaining about breathing is helpful I always wondered would I have to blow air differently for harder notes and you explain I do. I am able to play "Michael Row the boat ashore and I few other songs without squeaks but now I have to work on breathing where I don't take a breath for every note played. I am studding how to read music and it is a whole different world when you can read a music sheet. Now I have to look at the notes and write them down but I am learning slowly until I can read the notes and play along, sight reading. Thanks for your video and I hope you don't mind if I keep coming back until I can learn the scale and practice it until I can play it smoothly. Pete

I been on this video since 2016 still learning keep it up champ

Just a quick tip, use Side F# not middle, it’s faster and smoother in chromatics

The best I've ever seen for beginners. Just great everything
in one video.

This has really helped me, thank you. Teaching myself the saxophone through the internet and it's going great!! :
Just started yesterday and this has helped me a lot!
Hey bruv, it's been 2 years. You still playing or not? If you are, have you been in any bands?
Ickbarr Bigelsteine I’m in honors band
Thank you for going in depth! I could not figure out where those darn spatula keys were for the longest time LOL
Well done vids! I'm glad I found u. Just bought a sax. I'm a long time musician guitar and drums. Always had a crush on sax
Man, I will have to go back to this video for help. I thought playing the saxophone was easy!

@@Hiroyuki_T the same way they play 33
Great tutorial for me. I'm a beginner and it gives me the whole scale on my alto. I'm screen shooting the key patterns to print out and hang on the wall to follow as I practice. Thanks!
HI great :) Actually I do provide a print version of all the notes on a special sheet design with my startersguide also :) It's in high resolution and also very easy to print. Will save you a lot of time :) www.hellosaxophone.com/learntoplaysaxophone.html
HelloSaxophone Thanks!
Is the C# showing the wrong key to press on the screen?
Low B . . is the on screen chart showing wrong key to press?
You flipped the fingerings for the low B and C#.
Great video!
Melvyn
This is the video I most commonly recommend for "starting out' players
Thank you so much, i got all i need in one video. God Bless You
Love love love this! Can you please please do a similar video for quarter tones? Pleeeeaaassseee
First day playing and I had already gotten half the chromatics fooling around. Thank you for the rest!!!
Thank you sooo much for this....every time during band my friends tell me to play all the notes on the sax...(I say I am a genius at sax)... so next practice will actually play all the notes and they will be like wwaaaa!
BRILLIANTLY EXPLAINED, I really enjoyed that, and easy to follow. Great stuff cheers.
Best illustration I've seen thus far👌👏
Thank you!!
Love this- can you please do a similar video on quarter tones?
Easiest vid I’ve seen to show the notes and how to play
Clear, concise, and rich with foundation. Thank you!
Great bro. Someone just gave me a bari and I'm learning some things from you. Thanks
Pete
This has been so helpful . Great presentation
