The best thing about Britannia hotels is the convenience. If you get caught short at night you don’t have to walk all the way to the bathroom and can just piss on the carpet like all the previous occupants.
I work at the hotel and it is a nightmare there is barely any supplies when we need them half of my colleagues are so apathetic they will literally make things harder for you by taking all the supplies from the floor you are working on. There is clear favoritism on who management really like over others, as of typing this I had my pay delayed by a week because I suspect there isn't enough money to pay staff which is why they barely have anyone collect the dirty laundry in the service rooms so sometimes it just sits there and piles up. We are on a zero hour contract and the majority of staff speak Portuguese so it's difficult to become friendly when their English is either broken or barely intelligible. This was more of a vent as half of my complaints can't be resolved because we just don't have the resources the hotel is only like this because britannia don't care to keep the hotel in peak condition. Also the staff lift breaks down too and I have asthma so if I don't have enough supplies I have to most of the time go from the bottom to the top using the stairs to get stuff.
The thing is you are not seeing the worst! Seems good at first for someone who doesn't know but for not me and many people who had horrendous experiences, with all due respect. I have so many horror stories but this Hotel used to be nice before Britannia took over when it had a Sauna relaxation room and Gymn replaced by box city rooms with no windows. Many guests have complained of bedbugs (one review shows photos) and I went through hell after self funding for 9 months. See my review on Tripadvisor review for details. HORRENDOUS and bullying. I could go into it but it is overwhelming as I was there under traumatic circumstances. The sress and messing round changing rooms and no lifts working for months on end but there is more than that!!!
The lifts been out of order since the summer and many seniors have complained about it and the hotel is right in the town unlike the Norbreck.♥️

Thanks for the tip. 🇬🇧 👍

What a depressing hotel. Places like this put me off holidaying in the UK.
