If you were inlane buyer then even in if it was sold red light you can still ARB since it was badged as a M series and it dosen't have a M series engine. Claming they Mis Rep'd the car. BMW tech here again, I can’t say I’ve ever seen an N63 swapped X6 M before, that’s definitely a first! Also I may be biased but the newer BMWs, especially anything B58 powered, is honestly decently reliable. BMWs bread and butter is and has always been the straight 6, anything else isn’t nearly as reliable nor trustworthy. The N63TU (Same engine as yours but updated) is okayish in terms of reliability but it’s not good in the scope of most cars. Realistically most BMWs aren’t too unreliable as long as they’re maintained. The thing is that almost all of the BMWs you buy end up being maintained very poorly and end up being rat boxes because of it.

Also had a 00 e46 and put 215k on it, only scrapped it because it developed the Sub-Frame cracking issue, but engine and transmission were great too.

If you buy a highly tuned car of any brand, it costs lots to run them. If you spend a small amount minimum maintenance, they go wrong in a big way. Any performance high end car! It's not just BMWs. Ferrari brakes are terrible for example $6,000 dollars every 2 years. My theory about BMW is that most new BMW owners buy the cars own them for only a few years at most and then trade them in for a new luxury car and they never take the hit for all the issues that are fixing to happen. In this aspect BMW only needs the car to work properly for a few years then they don't care after that because they don't make money off used cars.

For the clutch to be removed you need to build intermediate support for the engine. Then you start to dismantle the bike from the rear. Rear wheel, brake, shaft drive, subframe and gearbox. Make sure to get the absolute right clutch throwout bearing because the wrong one will hurt the new clutch you put in because you won’t be doing this again.

      precisely what I was thinking. Best advice I've seen here. If you buy the cheapest of anything, that should always be considered as an option during the inspection. Things like the seats, brakes, engine (if it isn't toast), transmission, suspension bits will always find a home with the advent of ebay. The M badge puts a hefty premium for all those parts, and it's easy to find what you can swap to what (brakes can go on a 5 series, for example).

    Paused at 6:30. I actually think this car never was an M car. Although it was mentioned that the mechanic called the dealer to explain the oil line issue which is when they realised, the mechanic read what was in the block, N63 however I’m guessing he ordered S63 without checking the block (as you would - thinking it’s an M car). Yes it had an M sticker on the back and even on sides of the car but that car does not look or sit like an X6M. Then when he opened the door, those seats are not m seats nor is the trim.
    Either the car was stripped for all of its m parts before it went to auction, or, and more likely it never was an m car and was only badged up as one.
    The details would have been clearly visible on the paper work but I’m almost certain that wasn’t even checked.

    Judging by what I catch this was never an m car to begin with...appears to be a regular x6 50...that was either hit and had the fenders changed rear badge added (which faded out good and they rarely did that factory) added that badge to the engine cover etc...the front fenders are faded and not paint matched to the pillars....the gauges didn't appear to have m logo on them...the steering wheel looked to have the small m logo but that comes with the m sport package along with the door sills and sometimes the front bumper and rear covers...the wheels don't look like the true m wheels and the brakes from the quick walk by look like m sports not the m...plus the badges were switched for those cheap after market red ones...things typical real m owners don't do...I could pull you the vin to give you the original build sheet with the last 7 of the vin...plus m cars typical have the gmbh following the name of the company on vin or emission like tags...its a German thing that's the same as us in America using the term llc

    I had a feeling that it was going to get worse after the ninja discovered that it was a junkyard engine.

    LMAO that makes me feel better that an expert like Hoovie can also get scammed like us average folks 😅

      This isn’t a scam. BMW replaces these engines all the time. N63 and s63 are the same block, this mechanic is a goofball and the TH-cam star did zero research.

    Seems like a great time to call Westin about swapping something more interesting in... Might just want to swap out the rest of the car too while he's at it.

      Just grab hold of the crank pulley and see if you can stop it while running.

    Hoovie, I’m sorry you’re going through a shitty time in your life. I’m genuinely asking why you won’t have your garage anymore soon. So many people like to try and assume and gossip and try to create stories/scenarios. Obviously it’s your personal business and when you’re ready to talk about it if you even choose to that’s up to you. We love your content and hope you’re able to keep it up!! Hoping for a better speedy recovery and better things to happen to you! I got shot last week and we’ve had a shitty last month so i understand life sucks but like you said it’s still good!

      he is no longer wearing his wedding ring.

    • @MOSTWANTED1908
      @MOSTWANTED1908 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dlproductions9574 that doesn’t mean anything, just cause he isn’t wearing his ring doesn’t mean anything in particular. He could have damaged it or lost it. Maybe it was too loose on his finger and hasn’t had the chance to fix that and have it resized. You have no clue. Which is why i mentioned that people keep creating and assuming theses stories/scenarios. For example my wife’s wedding ring was damaged and saved her from smashing her finger and she hasn’t gotten it fixed or replaced yet cause we don’t have the time to get it fixed or the funds to go get a new one at this time. And it’s been almost if not a little more than a year, who knows it doesn’t matter cause we’re married, don’t need a ring to know that

    • @dlproductions9574
      @dlproductions9574 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MOSTWANTED1908 it’s been a while that he removed it. Fixing a ring takes maybe a week.

    • @MOSTWANTED1908
      @MOSTWANTED1908 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dlproductions9574 still it doesn’t matter, like i said my wife’s ring has needed to be fixed for a year and we just don’t have the time. Don’t assume shit cause you don’t know. Until he says it if he chooses to disclose that info you can’t just decide his person issues and stories.

    When I bought my BMW F10 second hand, I did a pre-purchase inspection by an independent and reputable mechanic, who found problems that the car dealer fixed. Before the statutory used car warranty ran out, I did another inspection by a different independent mechanic, who also found problems that the dealer also had to fix. After the statutory warranty expired, I fortunately had paid for an optional extended warranty and yet two more problems cropped up, which were fixed by the warranty underwriter. All of this within the space of few months of ownership. Now, a few months later, and after routine maintenance, another problem has been discovered, which unfortunately I have to pay for myself to fix. It seems the only real scam is buying a BMW. Never had such litany of problems with the Mercedes and other brand of cars I have bought over the years. BMWs are beautifully engineered and designed cars but the quality of their components is absolutely and utterly crap. Will never get sucked into buying a BMW again.

    Oddly @hooviesgarage. The more I see content on this car...the more I admire it. Even this jacked up, scammed version. I feel like I would still drive that car with honor. Kind of like Doug Demuro, I admire it's quirks. Personally, i would continue to keep this car on the road because it is so interesting with its backstory. Anyway, great content. Sending love and healing vibes from VA.
