I'm going to be really annoyed if the same thing happens next month with the 3070. I've been waiting to complete my new build since June! First COVID jacked up the prices, then the GPU I wanted was out of stock for months. I patiently waited for the 3000 launch, only to be told that the 3070 isn't being released until _next_ month. If that fucker isn't in stock by the end of October, I'm going to start knee-capping people! I use Blender every god-damn day, and I'm stuck rending on my CPU because my graphics card hails from the cretaceous period.

I'm waiting for restocks in microcenter for the 3080. Where I live they sold the 3080 1 day before they said they would so everybody who waited on Sep 17 didn't get it. (Including me) They will restock sometime next week and ill be there for that.

With one chipset gigabyte can be the best while msi sucks hard with the other asrock is on top and gigabyte sucks. Same with graphics cards, every new release will be different. Thats why you have to look at reviews when considering partner models.

You get an extra month before the 2080 ti is completely shot. Depending on the performance of the 3060 it will determine where the 2080 ti settles in price wise in the aftermarket.
tuf and strix is the best 3000s so far, it actually uses all 6 mlccs compare to nvidia using only 2 mlcc and 4 poscaps while a lot of other AIBS skimp out and cut cost and use 6 poscaps which result in having to undervolt or crash
I'm SO excited for this card to get here. I was one of the lucky ones able to purchase this tuf gaming 3080. I had to have 4 of my boys and my entire family refreshing the page trying to purchase it for me. My dad was able to get thru and check out. The rest of us got the sold out sign within a minute. The lengths I had to go thru just to be able to purchase this on launch day. Insane.

i got my system with tuf gammig 3080. 3 days ago it makes the game play full hd a childs play my card is hardly used 30 percent on warzone full graphics settings so is really amazing

@@davidadame5475 careful, I've heard that many people tried that approach with the 3080 only to find out they waited for nothing. Either the store may prioritize online orders or the employees will buy them up themselves if they know they can scalp them for profit
Spagett ! My local micro center I know for a fact isn’t doing any online order for them and I know a good amount of people that were in line got some but they got there super early as long as I’m in the first 5 it’s pretty much guarantee a card but it might be a long wait camping out there
The amount of work and time going into having to review these just to get it "free" is rarely worth it. They dont see it as getting free stuff. Its just a gpu...they will be in stock soon enough. Its not like not having food.

In light of recent findings regarding power parts on the 3080s, I couldn't help but to notice his card has the best parts in all 6 locations. ( 2:02 is a nice still of it ) But all the pics of the cards back on new egg, sports the cheapest non stability inducing chips x6? Hope the issue gets fixed the right way....
I also want to know if they ship to regular customers with the high-end caps or the cheap and nasty once. The Renders show the cheap and nasty once, but reviewers cards have the high end ones. Would be good if someone could clarify.
Harrison Kelly kind of, sometimes they are slightly higher binned chips so they made perform a tiny bit better, and may be more stable when overclocking
@@krowwithakay I disagree. Hardware Unboxed tested the OC version, and it seemed to fare better against the FE. Not a lot, but more than this card. Plus, I think Kyle would have mentioned it if it was the OC.
Bought a pc, from one of those "select your own parts and stuff" websites, so i knew EXACTLY whats in it (prebuilts have a history, of having shady components in them) and i was one of the lucky few, who got to get one of these cards. And im really happy to see that the TUF actually pulls ahead of the FE in alot of cases!

@@timmehh89 Yep. My wife's gigabyte GTX 1660 Super does everything he described that made the Tuf "unique". Alternating fans, silent 0db mode, etc. And all 20 series cards from gigabyte do it to. Hell even my EVGA 1080 has the "0db mode". It's not special or unique. It's standard.
very late to the game, i just purchased this gpu 2 weeks ago, but I can say it's a beast and it's also a beast with thermals, but not in a good way. While yes GPU temp is great, hotspot and memory junction temps are VERY worrisome. My GPU hit 90C on the hot spot and 110C memory junction temps. Replacing the thermal pads on this GPU is an absolute must if you want to still enjoy it for more than a year. After replacing my thermal pads the hot spot dropped down to 67C and the memory junction dropped to 70C. I used Gelid Extreme pads which worked awesome.
I have the same gpu, how can I go about checking the hot spot and memory junction temps? And I hope you're enjoying it so far, it's an awesome card for sure!

Your temps aren't wrong for aorus 2080ti. It's trash of a cooler with pretty lights. My Vega 64 from gigabyte heats up like mad. Windforce coolers from 900 series were the best IMO.
Here in Australia, we had hardware stores make you sign up for a raffle for a ticket so you could purchase a 3080. Still had a few bots buy everything, but I think this systems good so that the every day Joe had an equal opportunity to purchase a card. Or at least have them be limited to 1 per customer / ticket
I can confirm your 2080 Ti aorus is defective My friend has one and when he gave me his computer to repair, when I did testing it never even reached 70 degrees
I have the same card, and I can confirm that after say 8-14 months of use the GPU temps gradually went as high as BitWits. I had to get it RMA once temps were hitting 84-86C at 100% Fan speed. Gigabyte reapplied new thermal paste and pads. Now temps are back down to 68-75C under normal gaming load.

Horrible CPU selection by Kyle. That AMD cpu is bottlenecking GPU performance. Every other review I watched shows a bigger difference in gaming performance between 3080FE and 2080ti. Kyle wanted the reviews to get live as fast as possible so he didn't bother to put together an Intel setup. He just plugged the cards in his Productivity/content creation setup, and made excuse "this is because many of you have AMD cpu..." No Kyle. Majority of gamers prefer Intel CPUs cause we want those few extra frames. I am spending $2000 on a gaming PC to get the MAXIMUM frames possible. I want every last one. So Intel would always be a gamers choice over AMD. Take it as a constructive feedback.

I have my TUF 3080 coming on Monday, I wanted to go for this because I've an NZXT H1, you mentioned you might want to go for the reference card for small form factor builds but with that cooling design it just wasn't an option for me, I'd love to see a video of the 3080 reference and aftermarket cards in a mini ITX build to determine which is best.
Don’t think the fe is better for SFFPC as a lot of layouts are based on a sandwich style in which the heat can’t be exhausted, while 3rd party cards with standard fans seem the better options

In light of recent findings regarding power parts on the 3080s, I couldn't help but to notice his card has the best parts in all 6 locations. ( 2:02 is a nice still of it ) But all the pics of the cards back on new egg, sports the cheapest non stability inducing chips x6? Hope the issue gets fixed the right way....
I also want to know if they ship to regular customers with the high-end caps or the cheap and nasty once. The Renders show the cheap and nasty once, but reviewers cards have the high end ones. Would be good if someone could clarify.

Probably the OC, but doesn't really matter. You can just OC it manually

Harrison Kelly kind of, sometimes they are slightly higher binned chips so they made perform a tiny bit better, and may be more stable when overclocking
@@krowwithakay I disagree. Hardware Unboxed tested the OC version, and it seemed to fare better against the FE. Not a lot, but more than this card. Plus, I think Kyle would have mentioned it if it was the OC.

Bought a pc, from one of those "select your own parts and stuff" websites, so i knew EXACTLY whats in it (prebuilts have a history, of having shady components in them) and i was one of the lucky few, who got to get one of these cards. And im really happy to see that the TUF actually pulls ahead of the FE in alot of cases!

@@timmehh89 Yep. My wife's gigabyte GTX 1660 Super does everything he described that made the Tuf "unique". Alternating fans, silent 0db mode, etc. And all 20 series cards from gigabyte do it to. Hell even my EVGA 1080 has the "0db mode". It's not special or unique. It's standard.

very late to the game, i just purchased this gpu 2 weeks ago, but I can say it's a beast and it's also a beast with thermals, but not in a good way. While yes GPU temp is great, hotspot and memory junction temps are VERY worrisome. My GPU hit 90C on the hot spot and 110C memory junction temps. Replacing the thermal pads on this GPU is an absolute must if you want to still enjoy it for more than a year. After replacing my thermal pads the hot spot dropped down to 67C and the memory junction dropped to 70C. I used Gelid Extreme pads which worked awesome.
I have the same gpu, how can I go about checking the hot spot and memory junction temps? And I hope you're enjoying it so far, it's an awesome card for sure!
Alternate spinning middle fan is unique for an asus card maybe. But gigabyte 3080's also have alternate spinning fan in the middle.

Your temps aren't wrong for aorus 2080ti. It's trash of a cooler with pretty lights. My Vega 64 from gigabyte heats up like mad. Windforce coolers from 900 series were the best IMO.
Here in Australia, we had hardware stores make you sign up for a raffle for a ticket so you could purchase a 3080. Still had a few bots buy everything, but I think this systems good so that the every day Joe had an equal opportunity to purchase a card. Or at least have them be limited to 1 per customer / ticket

It almost seems like it is overclocked, high temps and the performance is much closer to the 3080 compared to other vids I’ve see
I have the same card, and I can confirm that after say 8-14 months of use the GPU temps gradually went as high as BitWits. I had to get it RMA once temps were hitting 84-86C at 100% Fan speed. Gigabyte reapplied new thermal paste and pads. Now temps are back down to 68-75C under normal gaming load.

Nice review ! Somehow beat the bots here in the UK and secured an order for the 3080 TUF NON-OC version (TUF-RTX3080-10G-GAMING) which I assume is closer to FE performance but with better thermals! Upgrading from a GTX 970, currently banging on Intel UHD 630 at the moment though! Pheww :) Happy Hunting everyone!

That's why you should never use a Ryzen based benchmark system. These results are heavily bottlenecked.

Horrible CPU selection by Kyle. That AMD cpu is bottlenecking GPU performance. Every other review I watched shows a bigger difference in gaming performance between 3080FE and 2080ti. Kyle wanted the reviews to get live as fast as possible so he didn't bother to put together an Intel setup. He just plugged the cards in his Productivity/content creation setup, and made excuse "this is because many of you have AMD cpu..." No Kyle. Majority of gamers prefer Intel CPUs cause we want those few extra frames. I am spending $2000 on a gaming PC to get the MAXIMUM frames possible. I want every last one. So Intel would always be a gamers choice over AMD. Take it as a constructive feedback.
I'd love to see some VR benchmarks (specifically with Alyx) on the 3080.

I have my TUF 3080 coming on Monday, I wanted to go for this because I've an NZXT H1, you mentioned you might want to go for the reference card for small form factor builds but with that cooling design it just wasn't an option for me, I'd love to see a video of the 3080 reference and aftermarket cards in a mini ITX build to determine which is best.

Don’t think the fe is better for SFFPC as a lot of layouts are based on a sandwich style in which the heat can’t be exhausted, while 3rd party cards with standard fans seem the better options
