Proud 328i f30 owner. I honestly cannot believe how quick the car is. 5.9s to 60, 155mph limited. It's crazy figures really for a 2ltr. Probably not that far off some older m3's

Owner of e36 m3 here. The 328i is quite impressive, it will be very close until 100, but after that, well you know m3's 3rd gear is simply an animal 😂
328i f30 owner here too and i usually can get much quicker 0-60 times than 5.9 even it’s faster to b honest. can usually get low 5’s
By the time the VW hits 220 kmh it's in 6th gear with no more to select. The BMW gets into 8th gear at an indicated 250 kmh and still has about 8 more to go. Huge advantage even in addition to hp and torque.
It is also a family sedan.
428i (328i) with 6speed manual gets 260km/h with 5500 rpm in 6th gear. So still a bit left.

@@miguelferreira4795idk if you still wanted answers but I had it about 6 months 2013 328i m sport with speed limiter removed I play with the paddles & drive in sport mode like I’m tryna meet god almost everyday I get 13-16 mpg & when I’m cruising like someone’s grandma I get about 24mpg on the highway it has a turbo so If you keep getting in boost you’ll need to fill up pretty often I never filled her up because I’ll just burn through the gas within a day or 2 but it’ll probably be around $100 usd I live in San Francisco so the gas is kinda pricey here so far it’s gave me 0 issues I had to take it to bmw because I didn’t put the oil seal on correctly cost me $1,400 so make sure you do your maintenance on time & correctly it’s a very solid car I’m coming from a 2008 mazda 3 with about 180 hp if that 😅this thing feels like a rocket.
I will go for BMW it's picking up speed much quick. The torque and power is amazing
When buying my last car, got it down to the 328i and GTI. Love them both. To me the 4 cylinder 3 series was the fun economical European sedan option that the GLI should have been. Came down to liking the 4 door sedan form and the feel of rear wheel drive.
Same, just over two years ago. I had a hold on a beautiful GTI but I'm at an age where I sat in the BMW and went, "this feels nice," in a way the GTI didn't. I immediately put the deposit on the BMW instead. The drive train is incredible. Really happy with the decision I made.

@@nabmat8192 Well, Im a petrolheart, so when going electric/hybrid/ is the only option it doesnt matter which brand I drive anymore. A BMW with 250kg penalty weight in form of battery isnt really what I find being a fun car to drive.

For the people who say the GTI is tuned , DEFFENTLY NOT, i drive MK7 GTI perfomance daylie, tuned it to 340PK stage 2 and it's spins the weels till 3th gear and gets 200km/u>250Km/u Way faster.

Yes, that's right. This is also the case for BMW. This can be disabled (i.e. display real speed) with some coding (inpa or else).
Actually not. Change your wheels to a bigger ones and the speedometer will be correct.

Your polo is a 1.8 with a single turbo (240hp stage one) while the 335d is 3.0 twin turbo (360hp stage one). You’ve got over 100hp extra, 1.2L extra capacity, extra turbo and way more torque to just catch up with the polo.

The gti is not stock
Sorry but this is a load of rubbish. I've owned a GTI mk7 DSG in stock form and also with circa 300bhp. The golf in this video is undoubtedly tuned.
The mk7 golf produces closer to 240/250 bhp than the stated 220 so it will be quicker than you think, but not this fast.
On another note, my GTI was back in the garage in the first year of its life on 4 occasions for warranty issues. BMW is by far a superior product.
On paper VW say the MK7 GTI has 220hp while they have actually 250hp on the crankshaft factory. i own MK7 GTI perfomance, tuned it to 340HP with just miltek downpipe & exhaust en stage 2 tune. This doesn't look like 300hp to me look at how slow it reaches 200km/u + doesn't even spin any wheels. i would say 260 or 270hp.
most importantly: fuck those jerky, dsg transmissions... zf8hp all the way!
if the video is accurate, the gti is 11 seconds faster to 250, which is a lot. I reckon the 428 would do better. I dont understand why there is an additional speedo on the gti screen
u can change the electric speedo between gas range, mpg, speed, temperature, etc.

As the car is still under warranty, so far I've only done the remapping and a K & N inbox filter. As soon as possible I will install a downpipe, catback and a possible turbo swap. Right now i got 320 Hp @ the wheels.

The Golf GTI has launch control, but the 2012 328i in this video does not have launch control (only 2014+ F30 328i does have LC). That makes a difference on the 0-100 kph, but that does not change much on a top speed run 0-250+ kph...
Wrong! 328i does have launch control. There is no mach for the 328i against the GTI in any dynamic aspect.
The launch control feature is available on 2014+ F30 328i if I remember correctly... This one was a 2012, so no launch control.

Problem with the bmw n20 is that its really a junk engine. Ive had to replace so many or at least replace the failed timing chains and guides its laughable. Can almost hear the tell tale timing chain whine in the video.
Its really hard to tell whats the timing chain because brand new f30’s and also ones that never need their chains replaced also make that noise. 10x scarier because they can really go out just like that

Vince Garage i took a vw scirocco 2.0tsi dsg with 285hp. It took 22.8" to reache 200kmh and 6.2" 0 to 100kmh.
With 285hp and a DSG transmission, it should be much quicker to 200 km/h, isn't?

Unless you can disprove it you can only accept their word , 🤓 I have had a pop at Few golf R ( on the Move ) apart from the Handling differences there not that quick , 184 bhp per ton against 171 bhp per ton . 14 bhp Difference once weight taken into account , Yes it did run my out bit it’s Not as fast as I thought .
If you say a gti has 290 bhp then given it’s lighter than a Golf R , a Golf Gti is faster than its Big Brother R
I did not say the Golf 7 GTI Performance has 290hp. I haven't dyno tested this car. What I said is many people mentioned/claimed in the comments section that this car is underrated from VW and has 280-290hp. There is also one guy who posted a couple of links about it. I don’t own a Golf so I can’t dispute , however if I posted a video of my ST acceleration with its Remap and told you that’s how Standard ST,s perform I doubt very much you’d believe me .
So my point is one should take as gospel what another proclaims to be as per Stock Vehicle . If I had a GTi and rolling road it as Stock 290 I’d be as happy as a dog with two cocks .
However since I ain’t never seen a Dog with Two cocks, I’d be inclined to not believe a Factory Standard GTI Having Upto 290 bhp. If I buy a new gti I’ll be sure to let you know my findings .

Costi Ariton What year/model do you have? The speed was inacurate (GPS speed is less than speed displayed on speedometer) on all BMW's I've owned or test driven...
In every car i have driven it is like the same, some more some less. Its intentionally made from the manufacturer. On my e90 i can open a menue where it shows the original Speed, the shown speed at the tachometer is About 5-10% off the real speed.

I need to ask my friend because I'm not sure... but I think it is 3200-3300 lbs. Btw the 328i in this video is an x-Drive... that's why it is quick on the 0-60 but slow above 60.

That's right, most of the BMWs are underrated in terms of power, but I think the GTI is faster especially at high speed because it has less drivetrain loss (FWD vs x-Drive)...
We were talking about straight line acceleration/top speed, but on a track this is a different story :-)
