Taters and Greens! Potatoes, broccoli, cauliflower and spinach are my go to ingredients, get nervous when my supply is running low. Thank you again for some lovely recipes
Taters and greens... so good. Great ideas to thicken up the soup, especially the potato flakes. I sometimes take a wiggly wire potato masher to a few of the chunkier potato pieces, breaking them up, and still leaving potato chunks to enjoy. Love your recipes. Lynn
Loved this meal plan today! My kind of meals ... I especially like the great tip for using potato flakes in the soup for thickening... that's perfect. Thanks so much for sharing 🙏💕
Wow this video on taters and greens will be a favorite! They are a staple I couldn’t do without them. All these recipes look fantastic especially those hash browns yum! Thank you for this video!
I chuckled when you chopped greens small! Big chunks of greens drive me crazy! 😂Also thanks for mentioning buying chopped garlic! Another thing that drives me crazy too! Lol You rock!! Thanks for sharing this!
I'm one of those who can't find "clean" hash browns so I hand-grate raw potatoes, add spices & potato starch, let it sit a little or a lot, and then cook them on a panini press. I'm too lazy to steam them beforehand. The potato starch seems to bind them together almost like an egg.
Oh goodness. These recipes look terrific. I will be making these for sure. They are right up my alley and I am going to try them on my carnivore husband. Lol😊
Hmmm, it looks really great and I will definitely try, however I personally need more protein. I might add some seeds to the salad and beans with the soup. Thank you
I wish I liked arugula, but I just really don’t like the taste, even though I know how nutritious it is. So I will try this recipe with another leafy green. I love you recipe suggestions! Thankyou!
Love this write it all down in new recipe book, going to try this week. I recently commented on your food prep video. Yes, I am a newbie. One thing I have noticed is my gut health has 100% improved, Well, I can just say that without saying it…
How do you keep your pan from sticking?!?! We have the same pan, which was amazing when we got it now it's terrible... everything sticks! I like the simple meals!
I make sure my pan is preheated before adding anything to it. I just add water to saute and I don't seem to have a problem. Some times my hash browns stick a bit but it is usually because I didn't let them cook long enough on the first side. You could always use a very light spray of oil if nothing else seems to work. I don't usually recommend that but if you are in maintenance phase it shouldn't impact you too much. How long have you had it? Maybe the company will replace it. It's worth a try.
Our Cardiologist told us to stay clear of white potatoes & white rice bananas🍌🍌 watermellon 🍉 & mangoes 🥭 along with white breads and any processed packaged or boxes foods. I'm anxious to try out your way of eating for myself. Yet, I'm confused as to how potatoes and carrots which are surger makers in our bodies can be so beneficial. Please help me to understand how your way of eating is the best and won't cause weight gain or sugar spikes.
I know nothing about your medical history so I cannot speak to what your Cardiologist told you. All I can tell you is what I learned from Dr. Mcdougall and other plant based doctors. Eating a low fat, whole food plant based diet is the best way to optimal health and weight. I have no idea what surger markers are. I am not familiar with that term. I do agree with one thing your doctor said was to stay away from white bread and processed packaged food. I would suggest you read The Starch Solution and make up your own mind. Maybe your dr. needs to read it too. Most doctors don't know much about nutrition. They get almost no training on the subject in med school. Best of luck to you.
It is the most calorie dense food on the planet. If you need to lose weight avoid it.it is also a processed food and causes inflammation and not good for your cardiovascular health. Read The Starch Solution for more information.
Ridiculous. I realize as a McDougal devotee you believe is opinion about getting enough protein from vegetables, however MANY WFPB professionals disagree with him. Older people especially women need a bit more protein. Add some tofu or beans to those meals. Please be your own guru.
Taters and greens are the main characters in most of my meals. What are your main characters in your meals?
