- LIVE CHAT missing on TH-cam? Here’s how to fix this on mobile.
TH-cam recently changed the way live chat works on the mobile app. If you can only see comments and not live chat, swipe to the left on the comments field to reveal the live chat.
We can always count on TH-cam to “fix” the things that were perfectly fine

@@PeteJohnsMusic seriously. I even reached out to TH-cam tech support and have been sending in video of me starting a stream, commenting, ending etc…
What a WASTE of time.
Why did they even change it tho. They must have sat round the table and was like hmmmm we should change this just to confuse people.
Yeah…. It’s a random one and not a great user experience for sure.

@LEmonIsAngry-u7u So irritating. My chat box disappeared on livestream unless I turn my phone sideways, and then I can't read the whole comment if it's longer than 3 words. TH-cam is so annoying, I wish they'd leave things alone.

Comments and live chat is not enabled on my ipad. I can see it on my samsung cell phone. How do I get live chat and comments to work on my ipad?

Thank you, but this didn't work for me. I'm on a Mac computer and do not find the dots you mention. When I go to a favorite TH-cam live show, I used to see and participate in the chat. Now, it's just an empty white box. I can't get help anywhere!
You hVent been banned or blocked from chatting by TH-cam? Try one of my live streams and see if you can see the chat replay or chat live.

Bestie, I can no longer see the live chat replay😢 It used to give me an option to watch the video with chat but now I done see the chat.
Maybe the live stream doesn’t have chat replay enabled?

Probably not. More likely that it’s that the creator didn’t allow live chat replay, or it’s a TH-cam ban thing.
@@PeteJohnsMusic Probably not as I was able to chat before and I can use live chat on other mobile devices, I think it was because I was on an iPod as opposed to a phone or an iPad
Can you make a video of why no one sees your messages when you type in the chat? Cause it's annoying.
Hey there. That’s a good suggestion. The most likely reason is that your comments have been hidden by the channel owner or a moderator. Reach out to the creator to confirm this as it’s entirely in their control.

In TH-cam live streams, on my computer I can access the live chat but on mobile I don't see the 3 dots to access the live chat. Do you have to download TH-cam to access live chat on mobile?

Don’t think so. Try the same sort of thing … or maybe it’s just that the streamer doesn’t support live chat or replay.

Im using google chrome on iphone but there is no live chat
It’s different in a browser. And will depend on whether the creator has enable chat or chat replay.
Has anyone had this issue on a latop or desktop? One day about a month ago live chats became a perpetual blank white box🤦♂️
Not something I’ve seen sorry? Maybe chat was disabled or removed?

Also, strangely, tried switching to the livestrem on my laptop and could not see it all even though you were live on my phone.
It’s all very different on mobile and desktop.

What happens if there isn't a comment section, what do you do instead?
Then it’s probably just a live stream and will only have the live chat. Sometimes it’s in the right or down below. It’s a little clunky these days.

Not a big deal to me now, i rarely watch stuff on my phone, earlier today was a rare occurrence. So i dont really care if I figure it out now lol

Tap and swipe the comment box - not the top part. It’s totally counter-intuitive. 🤦🏻♂️
@@PeteJohnsMusic Yeah, I did multiple times. Tapping and swiping every part of it. The top, the bottom, the comment box, everywhere, it just won't slide.
I come up with my own trick. Get fullscreen and then out, the livechat automatically shows up on me. In case anyone had the same problem.

The creator decides if live chat or live chat replay is enabled.
No dots, so it doesn't work?
It’s only really relevant for premieres or videos that have comments and a live chat.

But when I’m watching a livestream I don’t even have the comments line available to even tap on or slide on to get the chat option. Anyway you or anyone can help me would be greatly appreciated!
