Alfa is probably not a great investment if you gonna sell it after one or two years. But if you will own it for five years than difference with default choice cars such as 3 series, A4 or C class is not significant. I was really satisfied with my 159 and it was real pleasure to own it.
Hm, I wil get a Disco Sport HSE in a few weeks. I was considering the GLC with either diesel or petrol / electric drive. Why did I object.: Time to delivery was scheduled 13 months. Mercedes has a problem with seats the artico and alcantara ripple of the surface. That is a known issue. My current GLK has this issue on drive seat. Some Off road capabilities are required for hobby. As I am quite go on unpaved road, mud, forest etc,, and also back on the road. The GLC is internally a real Mercedes. Nice Quality again.. so far. But is not really intended to go off road. It lacks some of this and the plastic protected wheel housings are better off when little stones are catched in the tires and they kicked on centrifugal energy. Assistants for slow motion. etc. The Disco has a in Auto a very low 1st. and driving modes for any surface condition. So why now the 2017 LandRover? Okay the inside is a bit boring. The navi could be better. But I need a tool usable both off road and on road. This is exactly what this car is constructed for. What other SUV alt least somewhat usable off road? A full-blown offroader like Defender, Pajero would be ok also but then I would still need a road only car. That is what I wanted to avoid.
Mine arrived end of May.... What an amazing car. Been camping with Mrs and two boys. No problems with getting all stuff in for the trip. Seat Configuration is amazing to get the right space in boot, or leg room. Off roading is so easy especially with the ground clearance. 19" wheels look awaeoms. Heated seats and steering wheel.. Brilliant. It drives well fast and slow.. Yes the dash is abit dated, but iPhone works well... Android doesn't work at all... All phones on android triggers off the parking sensors..weird. But it's solid and the panaramic roof... Sooo much light. I got the landmark 2019 model, came with all the extras and I added a tow bar.
Sorry but thats a July 2015 car not a 17 model year on a private reg. Kit like the rear USB outlets and third row climate controls are not SE Tech cars I know it's mentioned further in the review this is not a SE Tech car but I think it's a bit misleading not preceding the mention of these by saying something like as you go up the range you get stuff like. No mention of the gesture control tailgate which is standard on 2017MY from SE Tech up why because that car don't have one. Sorry carwow lost your credibility with me on that one. How many reviews have I watched where I don't know as much about the car have you given us duff info on. The owner of a 2017MY HSE. Also no it's not parked outside posh supermarkets or private schools. It was brought as safe and practical family transport and it also to gets muddy when needed.
Instead of telling us in every video you can save on average £3600 on a new car, why not just tell us how much you can save on the car you're reviewing? Surely it would lead to more sales for Carwow.
We'd love to always put the savings in, but the amount you can save on each car varies a lot over the course of the year - we don't want to give people false hope if the savings go down a few months after we've put the video up. You can easily see the current savings on carwow.co.uk though.
LandRover have never been known for 'funky' interiors. Meant to be more rugged and chunky, like the large buttons so they can be used while you're wearing gloves. But I do agree as a daily the interior is drab and boring.
You need to sit in one. The interior is fine, practical, well made and understated - no buttons or bling. And it drives real well especially with the new engines ( not reviewed here). There are some hard plastics below the areas you'd normally touch - all JLR cars have them and no one who owns them gives a shit. BUT, the driving position isn't as commanding or as comfortable as the Freelander it replaces which is also a more comfortable cruiser.
GOT ONE AND ITS AWESOME! WORTH IT TO GET THE 3RD ROW SEATING.THEY HAVE SOME GREAT FEATURES THAT OTHERS DONT, BUT OTHERS HAVE FEATURES THAT LAND ROVER SHORTED ON. ALL IN ALL I GIVE IT 4 OUT OF 5 STARS!
Heads up- This says 2018 review but that's not the 2018 display/media format. Graphics are a lot better than that now (Having owned an '18 se tech with the standard display/media)
In my country, the Jaguar F Pace is just slightly more expensive but it’s much more handsome, comfortable and has more features than the disco sport. Also it doesn’t have a drab interior.
You shouldn't mention heated seats as a feature since its supposed to be standard in 2016. If the car doesn't have heated seats though, then you should mention it so people can rule out the car when buying...
Matt why review a 2015My car when the version on sale today is 2017my. Infotainment system has changed now. The one in the video is no longer available. Surely CarWow could of gotten a new one off JLR.
In other words, JLR saved pennies on the most important interface after the steering wheel. How does a crappy touch screen impact on long-term ownership of a “premium” product when every other manufacturer gets it right?
Yep they are definitely antennas like they have had there since the discovery 3... There is no logical reason to ever put heating elements in the back side windows
Matt, the top you are wearing whilst reviewing the Discovery Sport, what brand is it. I want one 👍🏻. Love your reviews keep it up. Are you going to try and get the missing horses back in to your 911?
I'm pretty sure this land Rover is using both PSA Peugeot 2.0 diesel units in 150 and 180 hp guises found in the new 3008 and other cars like the 508. I know Jaguar are using them also.
Ross Donovan I'm pretty sure they are not. LR have the 2.0 ingenium engines unique to JLR products. the DW12 PSA/Ford unit was also 2.2 only (in LR products) not 2.0. The 2.2 has been dropped from all current JLR cars.
I do like your reviews but your "big bottle test" why don't you use full bottles? If you can squeeze almost empty bottles in half it sort of defeats the object doesn't it?
Test drove it last week and came away feeling that the ride is lumpy and harsh around town and the interior is cheap dull and dated. Of bigger concern was the price. Way too expensive for what it is. lastly the front seats are so narrow felt like I was sitting on a kids seat.
Faye Tonephol 99% of owners will never leave tarmac. The current infotainment system is not only dated, but slow. It needs the same interior as the Velar
Matt - I do love your reviews and the latest have got more focused with your new recommendations, but I am confused with this one. I was looking for a review of the latest 2017 newly spec'd Discovery Sport - and this vid was titled as such and it was published on the 26th of November - just three weeks ago at the point of writing. But the number plate says '2015'? I thought the 2017 models were given a far better upgraded Infotainment system with lots of new features? I had hoped this was a review of that model. I must admit, I wish Land Rover offered this car with the new Ingenium 2.0 litre 240 bhp diesel - which is the entry level diesel for their new forthcoming Discovery for 2017. Or better still, the V6 diesel they have in their stable. Either of those would have tempted me ...
I did a 400 mile round trip in one of these cars recently. Motorways, country roads and off road. A fantastic all rounder and I'd definitely buy one.
Wow, that Alfa. That was beautiful moment.
I know right. just by driving it out ther showroom on to that road has managed to lose half its value in matter of minutes.
Alfa is probably not a great investment if you gonna sell it after one or two years. But if you will own it for five years than difference with default choice cars such as 3 series, A4 or C class is not significant. I was really satisfied with my 159 and it was real pleasure to own it.
which alfa can you put a time stamp so i can see it and tell me the model name please
Best reviewer, no one comes close..
Agreed 100 percent
Absolutely
2015 number plate, and I think they've upgraded the infotainment system recently
Nigel old & grey yes they have, as well as the engines
Hm, I wil get a Disco Sport HSE in a few weeks.

klarie Hope you got it .I too got one from may 2017.
Mine arrived end of May.... What an amazing car. Been camping with Mrs and two boys. No problems with getting all stuff in for the trip. How has it been so far?
Good review but i don't agree with the final verdict, the interior is far too shabby for this price point.
3muration agree. The interior's really dull and gray. I'd go for the Jaguar F-Pace over this.
U get a prius just shy of 3k. I think it's ok for 31k
thats why its a "shortlist" for this car, unlike f pace which got a "buy" verdict.
You obviously don't know the meaning of the word "shabby".
i hope you upload more in the future.
you are the best car reviewer
i really hope you get your own car show one day because i enjoy your reviews
Deadshot 101 this is his show.
I like it. Not a huge fan of the rear end but, as a practical car, it seems pretty good.
This definately looks better than the evoque imo
That Alfa... But wow that Lancia Delta Integrale!!
The giulia qv is the roadblock?? XD
my heart did a little skip
Jerome Spiteri I think the old Lancia near it was a much more valuable car. But the Alfa is prettier.
Sorry but thats a July 2015 car not a 17 model year on a private reg. I'd like to see the 2019 Discovery Sport go head-to-head with the Volvo XC40 & Porsche Macan & maybe the BMW X3
it's 2015 not 2017 look at its number plate
Toby but it’s still the current model. Or was in 2017
Holy crap the lancia delta in the background 😍😍😍😍
The interior dashboard looks a decade old
Instead of telling us in every video you can save on average £3600 on a new car, why not just tell us how much you can save on the car you're reviewing? Surely it would lead to more sales for Carwow.
Samuel Brooks He does at the end of the clip.
We'd love to always put the savings in, but the amount you can save on each car varies a lot over the course of the year - we don't want to give people false hope if the savings go down a few months after we've put the video up. You can easily see the current savings on carwow.co.uk though.
Scooper MG This video is the exception not the rule.
carwow I understand now Mat, thanks for clarifying!
Pretty nice review, I find that car not that exciting though... Would be nice to have a review of the GLS after this one!
That lancia Delta tho omg
I like the car, but the interior is dated
LandRover have never been known for 'funky' interiors. Meant to be more rugged and chunky, like the large buttons so they can be used while you're wearing gloves. But I do agree as a daily the interior is drab and boring.
the exterior is dated too
obviously. Mainly due to the lack of a German badge.
And overall, It's mega expensive for what it offers
and its not reliable :D
I sat in a top spec GLC and it had plenty of cheap plastics anywhere below top dash
I am in the market for this car and absolutely loved this video. So informative!
This is my favorite new review channel
mat watson for top gear!
alfa stelvio all day every day. and i wait the new volvo xc60
Indeed keep an eye on upcoming XC60. Might be the best buy in its class.
This Land Rover sport looks better that the new one💯
Exceptional in its Meh-ness. And my mates Pajero with high lift kit, snorkel and gnarly BF's is a proper off roader.
Good review though.
A roof rack would sort the problem of no luggage space with 7 onboard.
😍 can't wait for the Giulia review
Great vid Matt- styling seems to be similar to the Evoque and Sport
You need to sit in one. The interior is fine, practical, well made and understated - no buttons or bling. And it drives real well especially with the new engines ( not reviewed here). Look at the residuals - speaks for itself, way better than any German offerings!!
Have a 66 plate disco sport and an 08 plate Disco 3, I enjoy both cars.
As a very tall man with a generally taller family, we find these cars to be normal size as most people would a hatchback
Looks much much better than the other one😂. The one with the funny tailgate 🤔
Land Rover are well known for their reliability.
I do find it funny how with the interior of the sport it kinda reminds me of the range rover sport and the disco 3
When can we expect the normal Land rover discovery 5 review?
I would definetely buy this over a German SUV, if I buy an SUV I want off-road capabilities, which German competitors don't have.
I always love your reviews . Thanks for the video.
colorgrading is much better now! great job! :)
Heads up- This says 2018 review but that's not the 2018 display/media format. Graphics are a lot better than that now (Having owned an '18 se tech with the standard display/media)
Brilliant car. At least I hope so as I pick my new one up on Thursday.
What happen to the
Pros and Cons in the end of the video like previous times before this? I prefer that verdict than the latest though
Heya! GLA 250, discovery sports or evoque? Confused of what to get.
Gotta love the reviews with this guy!:D
Great review, but production question: Your sharpness and color tones are very pleasing. Mind sharing what kind of camera you're using to film?
In my country, the Jaguar F Pace is just slightly more expensive but it’s much more handsome, comfortable and has more features than the disco sport. Also it doesn’t have a drab interior.
You shouldn't mention heated seats as a feature since its supposed to be standard in 2016. If the car doesn't have heated seats though, then you should mention it so people can rule out the car when buying...
Interior looks really dated compared to other cars in that class
exactly the interior is a bit cheap
Wish Matt would stop harping on about Waitrose in his reviews!
+Andrew R waitrose, waitrose, waitrose, harp, harp, harp!
It's all about Marks & Spencer!
It's all about cars .
Matt why review a 2015My car when the version on sale today is 2017my. Infotainment system has changed now. The one in the video is no longer available. Surely CarWow could of gotten a new one off JLR.
Jon Holmes Obviously couldn't get a 2017MY as they're reviewing the 2015MY
Shadnan Ishan point being, this is a new car review and the model tested is not new, or currently available as specced.
Does the dual viewer screen come with the car or do you have to pay extra for it?
good review by you bro.👍 very helpful n ur style of representating is also very unique.good work.👍
thanks for the thorough video! incredibly informative
In other words, JLR saved pennies on the most important interface after the steering wheel.
How does a crappy touch screen impact on long-term ownership of a “premium” product when every other manufacturer gets it right?
Waitrose sausages is my favourite but. Brilliant.
But that’s no excuse for going fast outside a school!! everyone’s a teacher these days
How can you tell if you have the 9 transmission or 6
That third row is a joke, but it's fuel average is really good
Giulia review coming soon Carwow?
make a head to head video of mercedes c lass , bmw 4 series coupe and lexus rc
Are you sure that side windows are heated. it looks like you point at antennas.
Yep they are definitely antennas like they have had there since the discovery 3... There is no logical reason to ever put heating elements in the back side windows
The maserati levante Mat!
In this video the car you reviewed, is it the Discovery Sports HSE?
Best in car review channel. please fix the volume. I is too low.
Now that's a roadblock!
the interior looks as old as...you name it
Kenneth Mangulabnan so about 11 years old?
looking forward to see what you think of the kodiaq!
6:13 Thank me later XD
This feels like a Very Expensive TATA.
Especially after the concept SUVs they have Revealed.
Matt, the top you are wearing whilst reviewing the Discovery Sport, what brand is it. I want one 👍🏻. Love your reviews keep it up. Are you going to try and get the missing horses back in to your 911?
Did you know that the HSE Trim Is the Second Most Popular Model In the Range
I'm pretty sure this land Rover is using both PSA Peugeot 2.0 diesel units in 150 and 180 hp guises found in the new 3008 and other cars like the 508. I know Jaguar are using them also.

Why do you never review Skoda cars? Maybe Skoda Kodiaq soon?
Can the 2018 version play videos through USB as it doesn't have a cd/DVD player
Great review as always, Matt for president!
Can you get massaging seats as an optional extra?
Thank you.
@7:54 i am sold.. and that filming tho
+Minus Xero shush - dont tell Josh. He didn't notice. Thought he'd lost the first one.
Thank you for replying.. LOVE YOUR CHANNEL.. :)
I do like your reviews but your "big bottle test" why don't you use full bottles? If you can squeeze almost empty bottles in half it sort of defeats the object doesn't it?
best car in this class the GLC, end of discussion
Test drove it last week and came away feeling that the ride is lumpy and harsh around town and the interior is cheap dull and dated. Of bigger concern was the price. Way too expensive for what it is. lastly the front seats are so narrow felt like I was sitting on a kids seat.
Currently out of my mind be back in five minutes
Commanding driving position? I think not ! I sit higher in my freelander 2
So, when is the QV test coming out?
The interior looks really dated.
Why would a fashionable interior be of any relevance when buying a car for it's off road capabilities?
Faye Tonephol 99% of owners will never leave tarmac. The current infotainment system is not only dated, but slow. It needs the same interior as the Velar
Bruno TaTa ?? So if your IN the car, driving it, you rarely see the interior? Dont you mean exterior?
Faye Tonephol 0
Still practical except for the second row which I think have a thicker heavy seats than the new discovery.
followed you threw all your car reviews enjoyable all the time even with your dry sense of humour keep up the reviews
i really like your car reviews
ty
Honestly.. I really like the old one Discovery. This looks like normal suv
I'm blown with that screen :O
Can you make a review video about Range Rover Evoque 2017 or compare it with Discovery please.
dude plz do the review of new discovery 2017 plzz 🤘
What i if told you
You read that sentence wrong 😂😂
Was this filmed at Longcross?
Matt - I do love your reviews and the latest have got more focused with your new recommendations, but I am confused with this one. did u find any review for the 2017 upgraded one?
I'm not a fan of the dash board tho but overall its a good car
The hse luxury has tv s at the back of the front seats
