so boss! your discription says "I try" - you should change to "I did!" ...great vision to completion!
Haha! Thank you! 🤝👌
Man, that's a sleek and effective looking tomahawk. I think you made a great choice in the blackened handle and the leatherwork just adds to the overall look. Fantastic job and thanks for sharing your skills with us.
Oh! Thanks! And you’re certainly welcome!!
Beautiful design love the shape of the hammer and edge how square Everthing is amazing work
Thank you!!
Howdy- I was excited to see the notification that you had uploaded a new video and I certainly wasn’t disappointed! That hawk is a work of art!!! Absolutely beautiful! Thank you and God bless you!
😁😁 THANK YOU!!

Fantastic Job you make. This Tomahawk looks like work of a real Master. Best wishes from Germany.
Thank you very much!! Best wishes to you
I’d like to purchase one of your tomahawks
Awesome! ...but (disclaimer) I make things to order and only when I have the time do so. This is something I do on the side for fun not a full time gig. Yet anyway. So with what i have in commission already it would be a good while before I can get to it.
Nada mejor que un Artesano prolijo
Gracias
thats more of a viking tomahawk
Ok. Yeah. Thanks.
Since I’m not a blacksmith… How do I get one or two of your tomahawks?
I could put you on my list. I have a bunch that I’m trying to finish up and if you’re interested I could add one if I get the time. Reach out to me on Facebook or Instagram. We can discuss more there.
How much would one of these run
$300
I don't think I like the burnt handle look.
Hey I liked it without it. 🤔
Understandable. Some people like it. Some people don’t.
Gorgeous Hawk. Thanks for the upload 👍
Thank you!!!
Супер👍👍👍💪
😁😁 🙏🙏
Awesome work. How much would you want to make one of these for me ?
Thank you! $350 for that particular one.
Beautiful tomahawk! Thanks for sharing your skills.
Thank you!!!
I love hawks and you did a great job!)) I am hoping to do one someday myself:)
Thank you!! And awesome! Good luck with it and have fun.
tool steel ive grown weary of tuning up. id like 2 c someone make one with some bearing steel into the blade end. nothing agaist the maker !!!! he has GREAT skills😊
Job well done how much with shipping
This is just a hobby of mine. So I’m only able to do it when I have the chance. That being said I have a list of quite a few to fulfill but I could put you on there if your interested. This particular one is $350 plus shipping. I can’t calculate shipping without knowing where you’re at. You could reach out to me on Instagram or Facebook if you’d like. Links to both are in the description.
How much would you charge to make me one.?
That one in particular would be about $350
Can you throw them? And how much? Lol
Yeah you could throw it if you wanted. That particular one was $300
That’s so cool! I wish I had skills like you, well done
😊 oh shucks. thank you very much!
Gorgeous work! may i ask how the head is fixed onto the shaft. or is it just the pressure?
As far as I know tomahawks were traditionally friction fitted. That’s what I did to this one. The leather wrap helps hold it up as well.
@@TheHiddenHomestead thanks for you fast answer! Take care
@@FireCrack83 you’re certainly welcome!!
My favorite type of tool/weapon is a tomahawk and the one you made is absolutely beautiful like I want one type of beautiful lol
Thank you very much!! I do make and sell them but only when i have time to get into the workshop. I’m helping a buddy build his house though so workshop time is an extremely rare commodity this year.
Seriously whats this song?
I can’t remember the name but I got it off of the TH-cam studio’s audio selection. If I get a chance to open up the editing software I’ll find it for you.
Once work
I made a patriot tomahawk and posted a video
Right on.
ооо
That thing looks soooo sick
😁🤘 thanks!!
Que bonita y funcional🤩✨🤩✨🤩 un saludo desde España🇪🇸
Wow! You made that look too easy! Well done my friend! That's a beautiful tomahawk!
Editing is a wonderful thing! 😁😁 but thank you!
could you make me one :)
I could add you to the very long list.
Настоящий мастер👍👍👍
😁🙏
Томохавк - сокращённое слово от предложения: топором мохать в кого - то.
I like your handiwork and the background music. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇦🇺
Thank you very much!!
Хорошая работа
That's beautiful craftsmanship.
Thank you very much!
Sometimes the only appropriate response to rare moments is with silence.
However this is not how I will be handling it today!
F@#K BRAH! THAT F@CKING BAD ASS! MY SHIT NEVER COMES LOOKING AS NOR GEOMETRICALLY FLUSHED LIKE THAT F#$KING HAWK! NOW I HATE YOU OUT OF PURE ANCIENT JEALOUSLY. BUT IM GOING TO BE THE BIGGER PERSON AND SUBSCRIBE TO YOU SHOWING THAT DONT HOLD THINGS AGINST OTHERS LIKE SOME PEOPLE HERE!
😂😂😂😂 well thanks! And thank you for the sub
Can I buy one?
You sure can! In the video description you’ll see a link to our store. You can find and buy one there. Keep in mind that I make these to order so once purchased it takes a little while to make since they are hand made. So it will say 0 in inventory but you can still purchase one. 🙏👍
I would pay to learn, also tricks on how to keep it stable and not get how easily of the edge. Love the darkened wood too. But I love the work there is to build up the pieces, it must be incredibly hard to do and dangerous. Wow. hard to find the place to do this. Tons of tools needed, not just experience.
It’s a really fun process.
How is the tomahawk head attached to the wood so that it doesn’t fly off if you use it?
tomahawks are normally just friction fitted which is the same way I did this one.The SD card was full when I started the leather wrapping unfortunately. It’s what keeps the head held up towards the end if the wood happens to shrink.
The music you chose for this is top shelf.
😁🙏 awesome thank you!
@@TheHiddenHomestead i agree, could you post the names of it?
@@thomas.thomas hhhhmm🤔 I can’t remember them off the top of my head. They were downloaded from the TH-cam creator studio. I’ll be editing another video here soon. So when I do I’ll open this one up and check to see what the names were
@@TheHiddenHomestead if they are from the TH-cam creator studio i might even find them myself, thanks
@@thomas.thomas well let me know. If not I’ll take a look
It looks amazing, one question, what kind of edge does that tomahawk have? Is it a convex or a scandinavian?
I made it as a gift 4 years ago but if my memory serves me right I believe it was convex
@ 5:55 is that oil to quench it? Your busting you but while I listen to chillin' music (thank you for that!) and drink my coffee!
Yes it is. I used Parks 50 quenching oil.
LOL you’re welcome! Thank you for watching. I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Этот мужик просто гений!
Сперва закалил топор, а затем начал обрабатывать напильником :)
он все правильно делал.. вконце доводят
Is that leaf spring the same steel as those regular springs 0:08 ? @thehiddenhomestead I want to start making stuff like this to
I don’t know the exact composition of each but they are both spring steel and can be tempered for use in tools.
To quote Doug Marcaida, "It will kill" amazing looking hawk btw and good choice of music, very relaxed kind of "last of us" feel to it.
Awesome thank you!!
Trivia: Marcaida's catch-phrase is actually ..."it will k.e.a.l", with keal being an acronym for "Keep Everyone ALive". He trains to be deadly NOT to hurt people, but rather to protect those who can't defend themselves. He will use his skills to help keep others alive!
@@jonahjones8140 oh, that’s why he says it like that. Cool, I never knew 🙏🏻
Very cool project 👍👍👍🤘 my friend
😁 thank you!!
Very nice!!!! What is the name of that dust that I press over the iron when you made the blade ??? Thank you in advance !!!
Thank you!! The white dust? It’s borax. It is used as a flux for forge welding.
Dude that was awesome!!! Love the handle plus the design of it looks amazing.👍🏼🥃💯
Thanks man!! 👍👍
beautiful.

Not one shot of you throwing it at something!? I'm disappointed:( Looks great though!
Hahaha! I didn’t want to scratch it! Thank you!
Fun fact guys. This guy is awsome ! Thank you for this video sir
😂🤣 well thank you very much! I’m glad you liked the video!
Now that’s a proper fighting axe.
😁👌
One of the best looking tomahawks I’ve ever seen!!
Thank you very much!
Wow!!! Very nice thanks for the video 😊
Thank you very much!
In general, what’s the point of adding a bit if one were to make the whole axe out of high carbon?
If the whole thing was high carbon there wouldn’t be a point to I guess. But there’s no reason to make the whole thing out of high carbon. In my opinion anyway. It’s a waste of good high carbon and it’s easier to forge mild still. As far as I know traditionally axes, hatches, tomahawks, etc have been made from mild still/iron with a higher carbon bit forge welded into it. Higher carbon was more expensive and harder to come by so it wouldn’t be wasted.
Great skills !!!
I watched the video again that is an awesome job on the tomahawk !!!!
Thank you very much! I’m glad you enjoyed.
Incredible
Thank you!!
Hi
Which grade of stainless steel do you suggest for making knife and sword and Tomahawk?
Please answer my question
Thanks
🙏
I don’t deal with stainless so I don’t know.
@@TheHiddenHomestead
Hi
Thanks man
Good luck
Good bye
👍🙏👋
Don’t have the facilities to do this, but inspiring nonetheless.
Thank you very much!
Hermoso trabajo....de Argentina soy....quiero una!!!!
Muchas gracias! I’m making a few different ones now and will be selling them on our website soon
Beautiful work it’s as cool as the other side of your pillow.
Haha thank you!
nice build m8, how did you cut the blade to insert the harder steel into it? also nice music
Thank you very much. I cheated a little. Instead of hot cutting a slit I used the angle grinder to cut one.
Dude. This was hands down the cleanest, most enjoyable-visually and audibly-forging video I’ve ever seen. Plus, the end product was great!
I am in no way a metalworker but I’m fascinated by it all and you’ve got a new subscriber.

I’ve got two in post editing right now. Just been so busy with work and helping a buddy build his house. But hopefully I’ll get one out in the next few weeks.
Great job! Realy!
Thank you!!
Absolutely cinematic video skills my friend - excited to see your channel grow!
😁😁😁 thank you very much!!
Nice job. Wish the video was longer
Thank you. I’m not a fan of long videos myself so I tend to not make them. Do you have a question about the process that the video didn’t show?
Great😍👍🏼🇧🇾
Thank you!!
this was a beautiful build, glad i subscribed to your channel
Thank you. And thank very much for subscribing!
Your video is too dark (light) one can not focus on the detail
Thanks.
Would of like to have seen the assembly of it bro
Yeah you’re right. Normally tomahawks are just friction fitted so when editing the video there wasn’t much to that shot so I took it out. When shooting the leather wrap though the SD card was full and I didn’t realize it. So I didn’t get any video other then picking the leather up to start the wrap.
You didn't show how you formed the eye hole.
This video was just an overview of the entire process. So, I didn’t show much detail for each step. However, at 1:30 I did show a little bit of the process for drifting the hole.
I Like To Buy A Pair Of Tomahawks.
I sell them at the general store at hidden homestead. But I only make them as I can or when I have time available. Admittedly, I am behind in orders though. So it may be a little bit before I can get you one.
That is one of the cleanest tomahawks I’ve seen! Well done sir. Well done. I’d buy one from you!
Thank you very much!! Well if I could get the time I’m thinking about making a few and putting them on our online store
I hope you find free time for make a new Tomahawks and ı wish to buy one of them.Have good time. Thanks for information..God be with you.
😍😍😍😍😍
😁👍🙏
I thought the steel used, for left springs was good steel, capable of holding a nice edge, why use a second piece of steel, for the edge?
The steel he forge welded in is the leaf spring steel, I'm assuming the square bar he used for the rest of it is ordinary mild steel.
Thats correct. I used the leaf spring for the hardened edge and the mild steel bar for everything else. Mild steel is way easier to work with.
Well Done. 💯💯🙋🏾♂🙋🏾♂💯💯
Thank you!! 🙏🙏👍
If I were to buy one of these, what would the price be?
$300
Epic. Looking forward to more videos good sir. Godspeed.
🙏🙏🙏👌👌 thank you sir!
