CHOPIN - Nocturne Op. 62 No. 1 (New Recording)

This is a new recording (with improved sound quality!) made around a year after my last one. One of Chopin's last nocturnes, and amongst his most intimate.
Please note that there are inconsistency with the playing and the score as I used the henle score for my performance but can not show it due to copyright reasons. This is a first edition I found on IMSLP.

Beautiful playing but henle Chopin is not a good edition to use for Chopin. Why not use Ekier or at least Paderewski?

Advice: read the melody line away from the piano from the point of view of a singer and move forward to the middle of the phrase and slow down a little to the end of the phrase. Your rubatos are often in the wrong place.

I respect your advice and will see how I can improve, Im still studying the piano afterall and is by no means a professional. However, deeming things to be wrong or right is quite a big call when it comes to music, don't you think?

@@YUYANG_music TH-cam is a great place to hear how the great professionals do it. The greatest use is to be able to hear a very short area rewound many times to see where the climax point is in a phrase, and how the dynamic is shaped to enhance a slight rubato, Knowing how to use and where to put these effects is the most important element in piano music for a musical interpretation. @@YUYANG_music My preferences, in order, are Horowitz, Rachmaninoff, Cortot (try to ignor wrong notes!), Fischer, Friedman, Lipatti, etc. The greatest test of their musicality is in playing slow pieces. Most pianists can dazzle listeners with fast, showy passages, but it is a lot harder to shape a piece regarding dynamic, phrasing, rubato, balance between the hands, careful use of the pedal, etc. You can appreciate the degree of thought that the performer has put into the presentation by listening with eyes closed and really get into the music of the piece as if you were playing it. You need to get into the style of playing by other great pianists before you can formulate your own style.
