    What's the length of the bed platform? I'm 6'4" and was curious if I'd be able to fit very well sleeping in an fj

    • @orvsr4me2
      @orvsr4me2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The platform with the wings up was 6'0" I believe. Sorry but you would probably need the pillow to run up onto the folded seatback. I would bet it to be just too short for comfort.

    Really beautiful and illuminating work ! I'm beginning my own FJ build-out now very inspired. - I'm curious: why the double wall between the two drawer compartments (as opposed to just a single wall) ? And, is the bottom a thinner material? I mean, is it 1/2" where all else in the platform/drawer insert (not including dividers) is 3/4"??

    • @orvsr4me2
      @orvsr4me2 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the delayed response. I don't check here very often anymore. The double wall was an evolutionary design, initially so I could install the two sides independently. I did away with this in the next version as it isn't necessary. I used 1/4 for the bottom of this one, 1/2 on the next version but will both had advantages depending on the pull out tables. 3/4 (18mm) used throughout the structure elsewhere.

    Poor FJ it will need 2000LB springs to hold up all that wood. 3/4" plywood for the drawers too? Needed a forklift to put it in the car.lolol

  • @volvosan

    Awesome build, though can't help but notice the $thousands in labor expended - seems many $thousands. For the average person, it would not be justified, throwing ten grand toward a drawer/platform bed system.

    • @orvsr4me2
      @orvsr4me2 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That is a very valid point volvo but this build actually came in at a fraction of that amount for my customer. And thank you for the compliment!
