  • The state-owned Kiira Motors continues to scale up Uganda’s e-mobility production. This week, the corporation unveiled and delivered a batch of an 8-meter Kayoola EVS bus. The vehicle is produced at Luweero Industries Limited in Nakasongola and then sent to the Kiira Vehicle Plant in Jinja, bringing the total stock of Electric Buses produced in Uganda to fifteen (15). According to officials, the bus, a 2024 model or Kayoola EVS, is a fully electric bus with a nominal range of 200 kilometers on a full charge and a capacity to carry 56 passengers.

we lack stability in electricity as a nation. But we have enough elec...Power. chargers should be stationed on different 🛣️🛣️ roads 70km from the Capital. at the moment the government should use these buses as cheap public transport

You guys assemble. These Chinese buses. You're not manufacturers. Just waiting to see the price tags on these things. My bet is only government will be able to afford.

@beyondsnow1224 you have no clue how economics works. It's called comparative advantage. Uganda is better off spending that bus money in agriculture than manufacturing vehicles. The price is important because it shows how capable you are to manufucture efficiently.

I don't know why Ugandans always want to undermine their country instead of supporting them. Ate bwemuva awo nga muwana ebyabalala! Kati gwe offilrwa ki if they assemble the buses?
