This actually got me emotional as I was comparing this to the live action scene, almost frame for frame. Such a missed opportunity of not playing this song during that moment in the live action movie.
This scene is so simple yet so powerful, i think this scene elevate one piece first time watcher feeling from "this show kind of interesting" to "yep, this show IS interesting", idk that's just how i feel
Omg xD!!! I was watching all the one piece eps with my friend a while back and just like you said, every time this song came on we got so hyped up lol. We were clapping are hand going "it's about to goooo down!"
This Scene is So freaking Epic, that made me watch 20 episodes/day until I reached the newest one. Just plain Awesome. Best Ost of any anime I've ever watched.
There should be more songs like this in other franchises. The brass ensemble combined with the drums and strings and that goddamn march Luffy, Zoro, Usoppe and Sanji make to Arlong Park made this scene so epic! And the music helped with the badassery. And I'm glad the song's used often during these kinds of scenes. It's the kind of song that screams: "Oh hell, yeah! Shit just got real and shit's about to go down!"

I'm now over 300 episodes into One Piece and Arlong Park is still the best arc. The writing is subtle, the performance by Nami's voice actor is amazing, and it actually brought a tear to my eye when Nami finally asked Luffy for help. It's like when a child cries for its mother, even if there's nothing she can do. Nami didn't have a solution and didn't know what to ask for - all she could do, like a child, was say "help me". Astonishing stuff.
