  • I thought it was time I tried my first ever trail run during my long run this weekend. I decided to put the distance into Strava, and then just run the route it planned and it was...interesting!! I tried not to fall in mud, get lost, or run on busy roads...all of which I failed.
I also discuss my 2022 running goals. These are goals to keep me pushing forward, in using running to deal with my grief. Do you have any goals? If so - comment below!

Just stumbled across your your running blogs. I’m a huge fan of cross country running and will be taking part in the Great South Run in October and have raised over £200 for George’s Rockstars. Thanks for the inspiration and well done👏

How’s your wife? We’re at one month and my wife is angry/sad. You gotta timeline on when this will let up?

She's doing okay buddy. We are five month in since Margot passed now. Im not sure if it ever gets easier, but you do learn to live with it more. We are in a much 'better' place now than, for example, two months ago, but still have days where its really tough. How are you doing?

@@doitfor1815 I keep having deep levels of anxiety. I Lost 10 pounds without trying and sometimes can’t sleep well. My wife started to struggle he most when I went back to work. It’s seemed like everything was gradually getting better but with me working she is forced to spend too much time by her self with the kids. Had a doctors appointment with high risk OB who couldn’t tell us why our baby died. We’re going to try for another baby as soon as possible.

@@christopherlampman5579 the sleep one is really tough. I've had exactly the same issue since we lost Margot, and the only thing that has helped me is running to physically exhaust myself. If I don't run, I can honestly lay staring at the walls for hours and hours.
I went back work two weeks ago and it hasn't been easy. My wife has just been setting herself little projects or tasks to do to try and keep her mind active. Really proud of her though - she is much stronger than I am.
