    I understand how big a deal winning a playoff game was for Detroit. But a kneel down as the franchise's best play? It may be the most important play, but their best play would be a Barry Sanders run.

      Falcons were actually up 21-0 after the pick 6. and going into the second half it was 21-3. still a weird pick for greatest play in franchise history though considering the patriots came back to win in overtime. So not like the interception lead to a victory. pretty sure it ended up being one of if not the biggest comeback in superbowl history as well.

Everything about the stakes going into that game, what it meant for the patriots unbeaten season, Eli's legacy in NY, etc make it unmatched in my eyes. Starting right off with that Larry Fitzgerald reception...Cardinals fans, I feel ya. I was really conflicted in that Super Bowl, because the Steelers have always been my Number Two team in the AFC, after my hometown Bills (my parents were native Pittsburghers, PGH sports teams are in my DNA), but I also loved Kurt Warner and nobody in their right mind wouldn't have wanted Fitzgerald to get a ring, after all the great play he turned in for the Cards. I remember seeing his 4th quarter stat line from that game and thinking, "That would be a good stat line for an entire game for most receivers." This was the rare Super Bowl where I kind of wish ties were a thing.

    You nailed the Washington highlight. Darryl Grant's pick-six vs. the Cowboys the week before and Darrell Green's punt return TD vs. the Bears five seasons later would be way up there, too, but "Goal Line, I Left, Tight Wing, 70 Chip on white" is the runaway #1.

    *"The Catch"*
    According to Dallas Clark, Ed "Too Tall" Jones reacted to the play by stating "You just beat America's Team" to Montana after the pass was caught, to which Montana replied, "Well, you can sit at home with the rest of America and watch the Super Bowl."

    Best Steelers play is James Harrison in Superbowl 43.
    Interception in his own endzone, returned 100 yards for a TD.
    Essentially worth a 14 point swing in a 4 point game.
    The Immaculate Reception is fun, but not as good or as important.

    • @jacobg5122
      @jacobg5122 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The thing about the immaculate reception is that it was the first time the Steelers ever won a playoff game in their entire history as a franchise. I agree, the play itself isn't that interesting compared to things like Troy's interception in the AFC championship against the Ravens. But the context is important.

    • @waltblackadar4690
      @waltblackadar4690 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @drgreggles you really don't know your history. The Immaculate Reception was the first Steelers playoff win in 40 years of futility of a moribund franchise and the play is a fluke to boot.
      Don't get me wrong, Deebo's Int would be the top play for most any other team. But it didn't win the game as there was another half to play.
      The Steelers dynasty started with the Immaculate Reception and the first glimmer of hope in 40 years. That's why it's the top play.

      @waltblackadar4690 Superbowl > any other game
      I'm aware of my history thanks, and history shows that Miami won the Superbowl that season.
      Maybe if the Steelers had gone on to win the Superbowl after the Immaculate Reception I'd have a different opinion. But they didn't, so it's just an incredible play to win a play off match.

    • @waltblackadar4690
      @waltblackadar4690 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@drgreggles8658 And history shows that Holmes caught the winning TD pass. So Harrison's TD is just an incredible play in the first half of a Super Bowl and wasn't the deciding factor.

    • @drgreggles8658
      @drgreggles8658 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@waltblackadar4690 Holmes' touchdown was worth as many points as Harrison's in a 4 point game, but Harrison's TD was with the Cards on the Steelers goal line and should have been guaranteed points for them. Therefore the potential points swing from Harrison's TD was greater.
      Decent argument though, so I'll accept that Holmes TD was a better play than Franco's too.

    The crazy thing about the Jets' play being the Butt Fumble is that I can't even think of many legit great Jets plays to counter it with. Maybe a big play from Super Bowl 3? (Like their Flea Flicker interception late in the 1st half to take command of the game.) Or a regular season moment like the Monday Night Miracle? I don't know.
