- Super Mario 64 was my first console game ever, I loved it back then and I love it now. This game is simply mindblowing. For the very first true 3D platformer, it got almost everything right, and the lenght and variety are notable, again for the first 3D platformer. It also aged very well (even better than the original SMB), and is still one of the best games in the genre.
Also it has one of the best songs in ANY VIDEO GAME EVER. So here is it, and other 9 great tracks. Enjoy :)

My friend likes cod but whenever I say 'dude let's play super mario 64 on my Nintendo 64' he says 'NO THAT GAME SUCKS' And then I punch him in the face.

good thinking. Im not a fan of cod. Probably because first person shooters aren't my favorite genre( I love Star Wars Battlefront series though ). Mario 64 is great, no matter how we look at it, its great. No matter how long we age, this game will be in our minds along with memories, especially the staff roll music ( yes, I agree with the #1 spot).
I haven't Played super Mario 64 It sounds Amazing! I wanna play it... But I like cod

I love this game, it was my chilhood and still one of my favourite games ever.
Not too shabby for a game that's released 18 years ago, and still has really great soundtracks.
You're one of the best games I've layed my hands on...
I actually think that this era was the best for video game soudntracks, ever. The sound quality finaly reached adequate levels, but they didn't all try to imitate movie soundtracks (whicb lack melodies, and sound incredibly generic). Of course, there are exceptions, but the point still stands.

@@felipekretschmera.5812 Satoru Iwata. He was, in a metaphorical way, Shigeru Miyamoto's younger brother, like how Luigi is Mario's younger brother. Like Shigeru, he was a great producer of the Mario franchise.

I'm surprised that there's no hazy maze cave. That underground theme remix was amazing. The metal cap music rocks too.

I think the final boss music is best. The finale is 2nd best. Then dire dire docks...

Dire Dire Docks is great, but personally, the Staff Roll theme is the best in the game.
This makes me thing of my childhood it brings tears to my eyes...a time with no worries no stress...

Playing Super Mario 64 and Star Fox 64, and watching Hey Arnold in the afternoons after coming home from school. Good times. Hearing the Dire Dire Docks theme always brings back good memories.

memories i used to play this when i was 8 and i remember that i asked for my dads help becoz i couldnt defeat bowser. i will love to go back in time and play it again. :)
I love all these songs. SO Nostalgic! Except Merry Go Round. That one is annoying as hell.
My fav is File Select BTW. I remember staring at the file select screen for an hour just listening to that song before I actually started the game. XD

Super Mario 64 is unique from the others, not because of it becoming 3D, but the mechanics, it's not 'reach the goal to win' it's completing a variety of missions in various ways, and using new items too, such as the Wing Cap, the Metal Cap, and the Vanish Cap. (if you play the DS version, it's the Power Flower) Super Mario 64 is fresh and original and became one the first TRUE and GREAT 3D Platformer. It is one of the best Mario games known, you can play it on The N64, the DS, The Wii, and I think the Wii U too. If you haven't play the game, you can get an emulator on your phone to play it on the go, like me, and it's just Mind-blowing and Awesome.
The credit music makes me cry, it's that epic, and I love it so much.
MAN...the first song reminds me of my days closing up in Toys r us. this song would play on the display cabinet while I clean up. Good times!

Let’s just say this, music in this game was *amazing*. A lot of the time, it even made me cry, like the staff ending, piranha lullaby, and the dire dire docks music. The music in this game is top notch. Despite all the hacks that were done in Mario 64, it was still the best game in my opinion. If anyone were to doubt this game, I’d totally kill them, but wow. 👏 for the game.
It's games like this that i wish i could erase from my memory and start all over again for the first time. i miss growing up with the NES, SNES and N64. i could just bust them out now and play them again but it will never be the same.
Nothing more relaxing that the Mario 64 water level music. Combined with the way the graphics seemed at the time the whole thing was amazing.

What are you talking about … anybody with the ability to recollect the slightest amount of their memories would remember Hazy Maze Cave and Wet-Dry World containing remixes of the SMB1 Underground theme.
The soundtrack called it "Cave Dungeon".

Greatest game ever. It was my favorite way to bond with my siblings. I started playing as soon as I had any hand-eye coordination to move the stick. I started just running around in bob-omb battlefield and eventually learned to jump. My brother or sister would get the flying hat for me and teach me to triple jump or use the cannon so I could fly. Flying! It was mindblowing! Literally a dream come true! Myamoto has to have known back then that his games were going to be so touching to so many.
Ultimate Bowser is without a doubt my all-time favorite Mario boss theme, EVER. It captures the mood of the final battle flawlessly, and it terrifies you thanks to the organ.

Jesus.. I remember when I was quite a bit younger, and I played the ds version of the game, and when I finally beat final bowser, after it took so long, and I heard the credits music, I cried. I was at my dad's workplace and he was wondering what was wrong lol. Then I played the ORIGINAL mario 64, and that was just as awesome. Good times

Although this game is downright primitive today it's difficult to explain to the younger kids how mindblowing this game really was when it first came out.

5 ways they made it easier:
1) The pit at the bottom has been mostly filled in so that you don't die.
2) You can get every star with time stopped. (I know you technically can in the original too - but it's impractical)
3) On the first spinning platforms you reach - they removed the wall that stops you skipping it.
4) Luigi can simply back flip over everything.
5) They removed all of the spinning triangles.
That's really overcompensating for controls... It's just way too easy!

Number 10 is my favourite, water levels in games always have a certain specific feel to them, love it.
Beating this game for the first time gave me goosebumps, it was the first game I ever beat and the first game I ever played:) thats damn good start to my gaming life wouldent you say??
