I find using german commands on my dog easier as he is not gonna ever hear it except when i want to command him.
Good lesson, but for the "common folks" it might have been more effective to use an untrained dog for the demo. Just a suggestion.

Incredibly helpful video because all AKC registered dog owners have access to distraction free training buildings and trained dogs.

And the consistent "finish" after each "come." An untrained dog would have been much more effective for this video. Agreed!

This dog looks like he already knows the commands and the trainer is teaching us the "trainer behavior". I would like to see this with a dog that does not know the commands and maybe has beginning knowledge of his/her own name.
Lol you must be talking about my dog then! She somewhat knows her name is guess because she will look at me but does not listen! Lol I gotta try this. :-)

Dogs are awesome lol. The best success that I have found was at Brainy paws (searched google) Without a doubt the most easy dog training tips that I have ever tried.
This so-called "emergency recall" isn't likely to be effective with a lot of dogs if taught in the manner presented. You need to be a lot more animated with praise and the dog needs to be allowed to wander a bit further so it gets the extra reinforcement of that fun dash to the owner. Especially if "yes" isn't something the dog recognizes as a marker yet. Otherwise the only motivation is for that piece of food. That food isn't likely to be as appealing as chasing something is. Not saying this is a bad method. It just isn't presented all that well for such an important command. Agree that they needed to show an un-trained dog.

hate it when these guys show you with a fully trained dog. and that looked like a border collie cross anybody can train a border collie they aim to please there master. I want to see how it's done with a hard-headed stubborn breed like a Great Pyrenees. or Chow Chow. that helped a lot dick head! that 3 minutes of my life I'll never get back
Learn to make intelligent, mature selections, shithead! Seems you need a potty trainer.

They are not the same as other dogs and are extremely hard to train if you don't know the correct way to train a border collie,
So if you really think any dumbass can train a border collie how about you go and get one and see for yourself, dumbass
